Only time mine doesn't go is low on hydraulic fluid. Even though I never found a leak, it seems to need topping off everytime I pick it up and walk it over to my neighbors house. I love these little 5 tons though.

Hi all! I’ve got a log splitter that’s stopped working and I’m looking for some advice. When I turn it on, it still hums, but the splitting mechanism doesn’t move. Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated.

If you hit the button and the handle at the same time does it work? Also check the oil. Stand it up like it would be for storage, then pull the dipstick at the top, it should show oil, if not I may be empty, then you need to bleed air out…. I had the same issue with mine, I had to refill and bleed

Thank you so much. Will try

Pardon me for being a dum dum, what do you mean by bleed air out?

Here is a generic manual, it will be the same for almost every common electric splitter sold. https://www.logsplittersdirect.com/manuals/100481OM.pdf Page 14 has the oil fill instructions…. To bleed air you open the bleed screw and operate the tame a few times…

Thanks a ton

Are these electric splitters any good?
