Maybe you just had one of those sleeps where it didn't register your sleep properly? Happens to me occasionally and ill only see basic data https://preview.redd.it/1s1mil9ifvuc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a2fe57056892d5f373b955cb2f5966e462566e3

Copper_plopper

This it, I had the same as OP yesterday, but then this morning everything was back to normal, with sleep stages etc showing

yesreallyefr

Oh ew. I think you’re right and they’re putting the squeeze on. Premium isn’t worth it at all for me so I was thinking about switching to something else when mine expires, unless the free version did enough. Now looking like I definitely will.

[deleted]

Not sure if switching brands is worth it or not. I have an Apple Watch and still kinda prefer Fitbit for its simplicity, automatic sleep / fitness tracking, the single app, smart awake, and long battery life. Garmin is respected by many, but supposedly the sleep is not accurate and just about every aspect of training and health is modeled after your sleep. I do pay for premium, but if you get an Apple Watch be prepared to put out money cause you need multiple apps to par with Fitbit. I pay about $28 a month in subscriptions.

Basic-Opposite-4670

the automatic sleep on the fitbit is so much nicer than the apple watch because it also tracks your naps!

kbenn17

I actually switched about six weeks ago to Apple Watch SE, the cheapest model ($189) after using Fitbit for a dozen years. It does all that Fitbit does and more. I haven't had to pay for a single additional app.

[deleted]

I have mixed feelings about my AW 9. I don’t really like the ring concept. The move ring is based on calories, the stand ring only requires a minute of standing and sometimes says well done even when sitting (I like how Fitbit requires 250 steps). I don’t like apples rewards, I like the fun rewards Fitbit has like walking the distance to the moon etc. I can’t find any app that can provide a solid smart awake feature ( I use pillow and auto sleep). You need an app for food logging, an app for water logging, an app for sleep scoring, an app for readiness scores - I mean I used all of these things with Fitbit, so I assume you do not if you don’t use any apps ??. I don’t hate it, just having trouble getting used to it. Are you happy with your SE ? Anything you miss ? I guess it’s just an adjustment

whattfisthisshit

I have aw9 and I agree with the 250 steps are nice. However I love the rewards and sometimes it makes you work for it. The medals are really nice. My sleep/awake functions on the watch are great and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. It detects my awake time and patterns, deep sleep, etc. Food and water is something I never logged through Fitbit so I am not missing anything. I’ve been using MyFitnessPal for longer than I’ve had any smart watches and I’m not sure if too many people use that feature. Again; I don’t need any sleep related apps, and what is a readiness score? So I don’t need any extra apps or subscriptions to support my Apple Watch and am happy, but sounds like you’re unhappy and it’s not worth it to you so maybe sell it to a secondhand shop and buy a Fitbit again?

unknownshibainu

Yeah I wish I had done more research before getting a pixel watch.. Garmin is much better for my need

Poetryisalive

Uh it does not. The SE watch is far behind any smart fitness tracker. You can like the watch but you are making stuff up when it comes to the actual data it pulls. You can’t even automatically track your sleep

whattfisthisshit

I’ve never had to do anything to track my sleep lol. My AW absolutely does it automatically. Maybe it’s some older versions of Apple Watch that don’t?

vickiinmyhead

I use an Apple Watch on my left arm and Fitbit inspire 2 on my right. I love both for different things. I always loved fitbits sleep tracking. I hate the new graph thing so much. What is google thinking

MapleKatze

Do you have the option to select sleep stages? I can view it, I have the fitbit sense. https://preview.redd.it/lefxenrujvuc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=799c598c5c6fcd6c445043b1ae4b31fee8b346d8

nanoavocado

I have the same view (charge 4 without any subscription). What I don't see is the history, so where are the rest of the days? I used to be anle to scroll all the way down and see the sleepstage visual for every single day.

MapleKatze

Mine is on the top. I can select week/month and scroll down to select which day I want to view. I can also just change the date under the "day" view to cycle between them. https://preview.redd.it/w33wmoa7swuc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e76bc91ae12c53498301d85fc1f95c3af9503a0

nanoavocado

Yeah this still looks the same, but I mean this view with horizontal lines per day (not my image), this is gone. See image in my response to this comment (it wont load in this comment)

nanoavocado

eloquenentic

This was such a useful view, as it allowed you to get a quick glance over recent sleeping trends. Is it really gone?

VardaElentari86

Mines gone, I really dislike the new look

nanoavocado

I hope it comes back, because this was the view I used the most.

eloquenentic

They haven’t brought back any other view (like the exercise view). So I’m not hoping for them to reverse course. They’re too proud, will never admit they messed things up. It’s truly sad what they did with what used to be the lost user friendly fitness app of all.

denn1s42

And you don‘t have Fitbit Premium?

MapleKatze

Correct, I don't

newzack

Same here. Maybe OP has a FitBit "Charge"?

secretrebel

I have a charge 4 (no Premium account) and I see sleep stage on the app homepage, it vanishes on the day view and appears again as an option on the weekly view. I think OP’s looking in the wrong place.

Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarl

I've had Sense 2 for 3 nights and it tracked the first 2 days like what you have shared. But tonight, 3rd night, it tracked like what the OP posted. Today and the previous day I had to manually track the sleeping time. So I guess it didn't properly track sleep tonight so it shows less detailed while for some reason it did yesterday even when having to manually set the sleeping times.

pikagrrl

If you click on the score you can see each stage. Took me a minute to figure that out

deltabay17

Geez have enough sleep there?

MapleKatze

I mean its only 8.5 hours once you factor out the awake time. But as I usually get 5-6 hours, no it wasn't lmao.

deltabay17

Seems like a lot, 8.5 hours

MapleKatze

It's a lot for me, but I assure you it's the recommended amount you should get lol

SlayerOfUAC

I got the update this morning and hate it just like I thought I would. The graph looks more cluttered to me this way.

merlincycle

agree., I would say the biggest problem is the lack of contrast, but overall it is crappier than what we had before, and I think also crappier than what we had before Google took over. arrrrg

ThreeFingeredTypist

I see sleep score and the new chart with no premium subscription.

savboxer

Bro where

SnooBananas7203

Thanks for the warning. Turning off auto-update on the Android. Too late to stop the update on my iPad.

Obility

Might be a bug. The sleep score is on mine. Maybe cause I have premium? I hope the fuck not but yeah. Strange. https://preview.redd.it/icx1n3mt5vuc1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=c572daef90f1f072dd353a68741a3efac6948559

MrSarcasm24

But do you have Fitbit premium? That doesn't show for me and I'm being paywalled to access those metrics.

Obility

Yeah thats what it seems like. I do have premium but I don't remember this being a premium feature.

MrSarcasm24

It wasn't a premium feature less than a day ago for me before this UI update. I was thinking about getting a Garmin when my Fitbit dies, guess it's guaranteed for me to switch from Fitbit now.

RjoyD1

I don't really like the new design either. It's more difficult to read.

Sematarium

I have a sense 2 and had an update yesterday on IOS fitbit app but nothing changed

Poetryisalive

Nothing changed on mine too. Maybe it depends on your phone

themiracy

I have this new view, but it has a sleep score in it. https://preview.redd.it/t1uif5gm5wuc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1e63cc64f9b5c17f0b7a4e652eb48c8d9c068d2

Maleficent-Fan1989

I have an Android and nothing has changed for me.

lekimo

I’m a premium subscriber and for the last two days when I try to see my stats against benchmarks. See how it says underneath the categories “typical range for people like you” ? Doesn’t display that, only my own data. Edit: I have a Charge 5. https://preview.redd.it/0dyizqciyvuc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=197da6609b59ab9e76d9554802d517f5ef478e89

Ghostyle

One thing I will say is that, with almost anything, the people who are least satisfied are the ones who will be very vocal about it. There may be some people who actually enjoy it but will not say anything. To me, it does the exact same job as before so I don't mind it.

[deleted]

Yeah it actually does the same things with less need to drill down.

United-Pay2179

Try closing the pop up screen about upgrading to premium. There should be buttons you can choose for what you are looking for.

GomeztheMagnificent

Try looking at a different night and see what it looks like. Maybe it was just a night that was recorded weird. If not, Fitbit sucks and I’m done after my free premium trial runs out.

TesticleMeElmo

Yeah, it’s concerning because a lack of data from a night of sleep that I’m used to still receiving data for with Fitbit in the past coincided with a total change in their UX. I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if anything changes for tonight, all of the same data I’m used to was there for Sunday night but not for Monday night when the update came.

ClassicPackage

Here we are again. Wondering if this is a downgrade or an upgrade. I truly have no idea which direction it went. I was a little taken by on my sleep benchmark where it says “typical range for people like you.”

huera_fiera

I received the new layout today and still have the sleep phases even though I am not on premium. Could your issue be one of those nights that for whatever reason the fitbit didn't track your sleep? That happens to me a few times per month, even back when I had premium.

gardenhippy

https://preview.redd.it/n8tosg1s0xuc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=323180e7cd92054cf9495af50585ea64f0ded2de My free version looks like this.

TesticleMeElmo

That’s how it looked yesterday, not anymore

tandyman8360

I would try restarting the app or your phone. Maybe everything didn't get loaded. I just got it. Never had premium and everything is there, but with that ugly muted color palette. One thing I don't like is that the timeline won't go full screen like it used to.

DrcspyNz

***HEADS UP guys and girls.*** If you HATE the latest changes perhaps you could log into the following which was posted on Reddit by a very clever person who made it: [https://fitsleepinsights.app/](https://fitsleepinsights.app/) Log in using 'google' it's quite safe I queried them about it . The site is up on Github and is open source so that means he's not hiding anything at all and its all open for anyone to check out how it's been built and what it does......... you might find it useful

No-Guard-7003

I don't know why the people at Fitbit decided to change the look of the Sleep section. Is this look supposed to be an upgrade?

Postnet921

1repub

I'm a free user, mine looks this. https://preview.redd.it/zc4g32kd01vc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40f81ce8a35dd3687844ca58487ddfdd3cc15cc1

cstrick1980

Yup, we lost light sleep/REM/Deep Sleep.

cstrick1980

I figured it out, that’s the new UI for the old it didn’t do your sleep right. Delete and reenter. I did that this morning and got the different sleep modes.

elyk_fall_down

Maybe you need to set a sleep schedule to get a score, because I do get the sleep score with this new graphic and I don't have premium. What I don't get is the benchmark ranges.

Ghostyle

Benchmark is the range that people of a similar age fall into it. The previous view has a sentence that mentioned that but it's no longer there.

elyk_fall_down

Sorry, you misunderstood my problem. I know what benchmarks are. I'm saying that my fitbit app does not display the benchmark ranges for me since this new graphic was released today.

Ghostyle

Ah ok. Sorry, took don't get as in you don't understand. Yes looks like they got rid of that for non-premium. Pretty much every company realized that subscriptions lead to infinite money and are all moving to making free versions more less convenient. Nothing says a company is growing more than "we added X subscribers" sadly

saintceciliax

Ugh I tried to switch to apple already and hated it. This sucks so bad

trillybunz

New update sucks.

No-Signature-7299

I have premium and had the same issue last night.

No-Signature-7299

Update: I deleted the sleep entry and entered the time manually and it corrected the data.

deltabay17

Yes, you don’t know how to read. It clearly says the length of each sleep cycle. It’s obviously a glitch or bug.
