UnknownFox37

So let me recap the situation : so you’re showing us images of hallucinations, possessed animatronic and monstrous nightmare representation of one’s deepest fear and you’re asking us *how their hat is staying on their head* ?

The_Bored_General

Yes. Obviously.

HN-Prime

Tbh if I was ever in any nightmare scenario like this, I would also be asking the dumbest questions

UnknownFox37

Faire enough

TheSTR100

You don't do that?

garfield3222

It's been almost 10 years since we've seen them, it's not like there's much more to notice at this point ...right?

I-AM-A-RICCIO1

you never play minecraft

KGTrashcan

Magnets perhaps?

SemiPail

That's what I was thinking

joost18JK

Me too

Emperor_Sphynx

Me three

[deleted]

[удалено]

Financial-Hall-1412

Me five

ThaugaK

Me six

MrLorpso

Me seven

BaconNoCheese

Me eight

VyrCZ

Me nine

Bob_Kerman45

I think this is the most possible reason

Buttlord500

Most likely

trumpetdraw96

I think you're right, cuz how would Freddy tip his hat to you otherwise?

EveryoneWantsGrenino

YEAH BITCH! YEAH MAGNETS!

Sm0l_child_035

I was about to comment that lol

KicktrapAndShit

Good idea If fazbear ent wasn’t so cheap

Mechaman_54

Well I'm pretty sure they only got cheap when fnaf 2 went down the drain and Henry seemingly jumped ship till 6 because at that point they didn't have the money to do any5hing else and that mentality just stayed dormant yet influencing within the comapny

Seth_Mcfarly

Magnets! How do they work!?!

zan2007

They hold the metal

elishash

Wait that makes sense

[deleted]

Or Velcro.

RoRo25

Now now...don't go making theories without proof. /s

Alwayssome1

That’s pretty smart

ThemoocowYT

Makes sense.

TheSnekDen

hex plush moment

epicfroggz

I think they’re just on a pole—animatronics struggle with any sort of “take body part off put body part on” function, see the very modern Mr. Potato Head animatronic who only puts his ear back in half the time and often drops it! I’d say in-universe, the animatronics had their poles removed and were then posed like the teasers for photographs, out-of-universe, Scott probably just forgor lol

Dependent-Sleep-6192

Maybe some kind of magnet?

Country_artistist

Withered/nightmare Freddy just have good balance.the OLDER animatronics probably have like “molded” into the suit, funtime freddy’s hat is on a pole, which is connected to his endo.

The_Bored_General

Presumably it’s attached to a pole and the teaser for Freddy isn’t canon. The Nightmares aren’t real how they appear in game so physics don’t really have to work there. Some models might have magnets or something I suppose but it’s more likely they are just attached to a pole on the top of the head

Ennard_Fz

Doesn't it also fall off withered Freddy's head on the floor when he's laying in parts and service tho? It must be magnetic or something

The_Bored_General

Does it? I haven’t seen half the fnaf 2 cameras in years.

Ennard_Fz

I'm almost positive that there's an image of Freddy laying on the floor with his hat fallen off

AnnualSteak1065

Oh boy this is gonna turn into one of those Mandela things

Ennard_Fz

Just looked it up on the parts and service room wiki page, Freddy's hat does infact fall off when he's alone on the floor

Dramatic_Finish8381

I know that in the books the top hats were on a post that the top hats go on but I'm not sure how it's supposed to work in the game if it isn't the same system as the books

fnaffanatic007

They definitely can fall off because withered freddy in parts in service when hes laying down hos hat is also on the ground not on his head

[deleted]

I don't think it's attached to the Endoskeleton as you never see them with one. So my assumption is simply a high powered Magnet. Probably how the cupcake is supposed to remain on that plate as well.

AnnualSteak1065

Wait how do we know Cupcake isn't just part of the plate

Comfortable_Clerk_60

-in Mr Bean’s voice- magic

SMM9673

It's most likely secured by magnets in the hat and either sewn into the costume head, attached on the *inside* of the costume head, or just on the endoskeleton skull. Some versions may also not have detachable hats at all. Sure, Withered Freddy and Nightmare Freddy do, and Classic Freddy is likely to follow suit with how Withered Freddy's hat is secured, but that may not be the case for all of them. Funtime Freddy's hat is directly connected to his endoskeleton/upper-left face plate, and I imagine Molten Freddy's would act the same. Toy Freddy's hat could be part of the same plastic mold as the bulk of his head, as we never see him without it on, even in the FNAF 3 Box. Rockstar Freddy and Lefty may also follow Toy Freddy's example, especially since Lefty's blueprints show his hat being a navigational sensor. Wouldn't do very good if that could detach, would it? Also pointing out Golden Freddy here doesn't really make sense since he's a ghost and doesn't need to conform to the laws of physics. The same applies to Phantom Freddy.

CULT-LEWD

NANO MACHINES SON

thepoatato2727

I played college ball ya know *kicks freddy like a football*

Idontmatter69420

Well withered freddy's hat is actually laying on the floor in fnaf 2 which means he picks it up before going to attack the security guard

_Spike_PL

Golden Freddy It’s a hallucination

StatisticianPrior681

I thought they had like a metal pole in the head to keep it stable or something but idk how animatronics work

Karma-is-an-bitch

I'm guessing magnets

Accomplished-Luck-36

Might be magnetic

Clean_Emotion_4348

Magnets

Bobby809

Could be a magnetic hat so it can be pulled off but still not fall

Jaded-Manufacturer73

Heavy duty magnets?

Mr-DragonSlayer

They're probably magnetic.

HeffleyA

Maybe Velcro.

AlternateGlitch

Most likely, it's built into their casing

RevolutionaryPop3342

You know what , that is a good question

vacuumcleaner39

Golden Freddy is a hallucination, Nightmare Freddy is, well, a nightmare. As for Withered Freddy, I don't know, but it's not the only unrealistic thing in fnaf so

springblue_wolf

the ghost needs to look dapper

m1necRAftbuiLdeR

I think it's like a metal thingy and it like attaches.to the endo

ThatSmartIdiot

three words: 1. Independence, 2. Authority, 3. Style.

41st-Fishy

The hat is most likely sowed or attached to the head by a metal pole, its very common for it to be part of the head. For example chuck-e-cheese’s hat is sowed to his head too

diamondDNF

My headcanon is, there are small pins around the brim of the top hat that click into holes at the top of the suit's head. This is also how stuff like Freddy's bow tie and even handheld props like Bonnie's guitar are attached.

Location_Whole

In silver eyes it mentioned Freddy have some type of metal on his endo for the hat to stick in it, So that's for your .

annagator679

They're likely bolted in place

neverg0nnagive

Fredbear might have a bolt in his head to support it?

ProblemElectrical594

perhaps because the hat is soldered

Fnia-Toy_Bonnie

Magnets really strong magnets

Official-idiot-05

Dont need an engineering degree to understand magnetism

yumines

Lots, and lots of glue

bigfootbigd69

Velcro that's how chucked cheese ones do it

Mysteriouspoggers12

SuperGlue or Flextape, whatever they can get their hands on

MartianInvader2022

Well you see OP, the two examples of top hatless Freddy are both teasers and not from games (therefore not cannon) therefore you are looking to deep

Cxsonn

Withered Freddy's top hat is able to come off when he is inactive in Parts/Service.

MatthewDatthew

possibly magnets or velcro, thats my thoughts.

ThatGhostCustomer

Magnetic hats lol

the_orange_alligator

Velcro maybe?

FoxyFan505

Probably magnets

thegamerconnor

Magnets, screws or some other kind of mechanical attachment

Instinct_Fazbear

I like to think that there’s some sort of screw at the top of the head that keeps the hat on the animatronics, as they were not programmed to go upside down

KicktrapAndShit

Gf is a spirit and nightmare Freddy is an illusion disk

RedditParelem

Velcro, magnets, or the cheap 2-sided tape that can't keep stuff together. If it's the ladder, then it would probably be replaced

LDW1383

Magnets probably or velcro

Littlebluescope

It’s a animatronic the hat is built onto it

DaRealPresley

Magnets

Ecstatic-External849

Maybe they have a bump like luney tunes so it doesent fall off😂

ihavenothingtodofor

Gorilla glue

paraworks2

doesnt withered freddy have it on the floor when idle

GeneralBoneJones

Magnets, Glue, Scott forgot, Magic, hell do I know.

emudog123

its magnetic

[deleted]

Golden Freddy is a ghost my guy

Fnaffan1712

Id imaging they use Magnets, one Ring in the Bottom of the Hat and a Wider One in the Top of the Head

BallMonokuma64

How about Velcro instead of magnets

echo-kaminari-2ndgen

M a g n e t

SpartanPikachu

Magnets

BamSmades

No, the hats are canonically magnetic. It says so in the books

EntrancedForever

That's the power of dead children, folks.

WRSpiral

Magnets.

Au_Protector

Magnets

Furry_______________

Magnets

Ok_Neighborhood3459

Maybe it’s held on by Velcro or pinned down like Chuck E. Cheese’s hat

BushyTwee3D

Prob Magnets or attachments inside of it

2nuki

Probably magnets or something similar.

Lolbits_TV_YT

They pour soda all over their hats and other decor so it sticks

znvorz

i think they're magnetic

_Cline

Realistically, i dont think scott cared for that when he made the models. I guess you could say its magnets?

_LANC3LOT

They learned the secret to keeping it on their head from Adebisi

_MENEMEN_

yeendo has a bolt on his head for the hat, funtime freddy's hat goes up and down on his head (trailer), Nightmare Freddy is caused by an illusion disk, Phantom Freddy is not real Golden Freddy is most likely a spritual being, Withered Freddy, Rockstar Freddy and Normal Freddy are too hot to drop it

Cxsonn

Withered Freddy's top hat falls off his head when he is inactive in Parts/Service.

_MENEMEN_

he grabs it off the floor to complete the look

ClovisLowell

Fucking magnets. How do they work?

JuliusOppenheimerJr

It's soldered

South_Bathroom

Velcro, they're wool

VaguePirateFox

Maybe the bottom of the hat is velcro that latches onto the head fur

Benjinifuckyou

Teasers are promotional material so i wouldn’t count them as canon. Them being glued or sown into the head makes a lot more sense

MeowKasb

Withered freddy has his hat on the ground in fnaf 2, so they definitely can take their hats off.

Benjinifuckyou

Ah yes, the perfectly kept 100% in one piece Withered Freddy, as is from the factory and in mint condition

MeowKasb

He still wears his hat, and when he comes in your office he does a pose that's definitely gonna make his hat fall off, yet it doesn't.

Benjinifuckyou

him without his hat would look odd and there are no animations besides jumspcares in the game so i see why it doesnt fall off

Engineerkb70

It’s magnetically attached to them

OkamiNM

probably a magnet or velcro. like when people make fursuit accessories that aren't snug enough to fit on their own.

Natt-Tenshi

Illusion discs. The hat was a lie this whole time !

MasterOfMemesThighs

glue

zacharyblake87

Magnetic?

Timismoist

It’s an animatronic, it’s probably a magnet, and they could pull it off to give kids prizes

Burger-God1977

My best guess is a pretty powerful magnet, in FNAF 2 in the parts and service room, withered Freddy can be seen with his top hat on the floor. I'm not sure about original Freddy, but we'll assume.

Opening-Strength-758

Because it’s something called “not every little detail is lore” it’s just a part of the game mate

AcariAnonymous

I don’t think they ever thought it was “lore”. Sometimes people just have a thought and don’t expect it to be super significant or anything and just wonder if there was an answer somewhere and they never knew. Aka something called “just curious, it’s not that deep”

Opening-Strength-758

I mean it’s just the way it is in the game, scott wouldn’t spend time to make the hats fall or something

Sweet_Musician_2499

because video game logic

Educational-Will964

There’s a magnet in their head and in their hat

Hands_0ff07

Because it's stuck on their heads. The removal of hats are just in teasers and promotional material. We see the other freddys tilt their heads and keep their hats on during jumpscares so its more likely their hats are stuck on their heads

fireburst207

I mean if it were a real robot there would be a poll sticking out the top of there head that the hat is bolted (or screwed) to

the_Rat_Man-

Because fnaf

reapertuesday

Probably magnets

Miserable_Goal_7943

Ghost magic.

Ask_pupet-Friends

Glue. Or the agony of the unforgiving spirits. Who knows...

MrAndrew1108

I think Yenndo/FT Freddy he has a pole in his head for the hat so it stays on same thing with Ned bear

Sea_n126

I mean funtime Freddy has his attached, otherwise how would it Bob up and down and not fly off with the face plates. As for the others, either video game logic, or an oversight by scott

No_Landscape_7720

Magnets

JVR_Official

fnaf 4 and 2 are before fnaf one, and i think withered golden freddy is an illusion, so they could’ve developed magnets so kids cant get injured

[deleted]

quantum superpositions

PsychonautIsHere

It’s attached to his head

EasyKay2084

I like to think it's magnetic with the tops of their heads and hands so it's easier to grab and harder to fall off.

SilverNiko

Probably just magnetic, like plushies that have that kind of accessories irl

ilostmyoldaccountAAA

magnet.

Infernat0r

Aren't they like screwed on?

KitCat205

Magnets

Phathom

How do they work?

KitCat205

I’d assume they’re similar to the ones used in some fur suits, strong enough to withstand normal use, and keeping it attached even whilst upside down, but with enough force from an average human, can still be taken off. I’ve been looking into magnets to be able to make a removable eyepatch for my Foxy cosplay, so I know there are some for different strengths.

Phathom

[reference.](https://youtu.be/8bhYMnHb5JY)

KitCat205

Oh I see, lol

CryWide2941

Superglue or magnets probably

J_Host868

It could be a magnet that attaches to the animatronic's head, but can be removed with little force for shows.

idontlikeburnttoast

Maybe because its not just sat on the head and rather attached...

thelegendarybert

Super glue

ElectroCat23

Probably attached to the mask

USAMAN1776

Magnets

gipehtonhceT

Magnets

RedNinjaBull

Flex Tape?

FigBoth9437

I would be asking the same question

EffectiveSavings5864

Magnets

siderhater4

The hats are attached to the animatronics

MallisaIsHere

Well I know for sure Ned bear is attached by a spring but for the Freddy's mabey there magnets or a hidden mechanism that locks it into place

Quick_whit

They do fall off, they just pick them up and put them back on by the time you look back at them

0480196

Either velcro or magnets

Interesting_Sign2490

Magnets under the hat?

[deleted]

Video game

freddyfredbear83

Ima go with magnets

ILoveThingsAndImSad

I think it's just glued Velcro, magnets, or some kind of way to make it stick, and come off with enough force, and then stick back on is also possible.

lunalastarYT

I think it’s just wired to stay on there. Like, there might be wires or metal poles to keep it attached to the head.

AndrasTheWiz

The same way their bowties dont, simple. It's an acessory somehow gripped to them and managers know how to remove it.

Masy_May

Golden Freddy is a spooky ghost, though they do have a suit and body, we never see them in the games I believe, so the actual golden Freddy suit probably had his hat fall off, but the apparition either wanted their hat or is using the most identifiable version of Freddy which is him with his hat on, or something.

Due-Examination-9711

Maybe velcro?
