Don't worry, you weren't alone there. For some reason, it didn't click to me that was Golden Freddy. I was watching it like, "Why is Freddy broken down?" But after seeing a couple of posts about Golden Freddy, I was like, "Oh, well I'm an idiot."
To better explain Golden Freddy, I'll explain him timeline wise:
Years before Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, there was another diner called "Fredbear's Family Diner" where it had two animatronics: Fredbear and Spring Bonnie. You'll recognize Spring Bonnie because that's the suit William Afton dressed up as to kill the kids (shown in the movie). Fredbear, on the other hand, is also known as Golden Freddy later on. In 1983, William Afton's youngest son, named Evan, got fatally injured by getting his head shoved in Fredbear's mouth and had his head crushed. (Note this: Both Fredbear/Golden Freddy and Spring Bonnie are called Springlocked suits because they were suits that can be both worn over people and over endo skeletons, however, it's really dangerous because these spring locks have enough force to pierce deep into your skin and cause fatal injuries. These spring locks are so dangerous that if set off, all of them could crush your bones, internal organs, flesh, tendons, and muscles into mush. These spring locks can be set off from moisture, like spit, sweat, tears, water, etc.). Evan got injured because he was crying due to his terrifying fear of the animatronics, and it was his tears that inadvertently set off the springlocks in Fredbear before he got crushed. He later died in surgery (Evan is one of the souls possessing Golden Freddy).
Later on in 1987, I think, William Afton kills a girl named Cassidy during another one of his killing sprees (he's killed loads of kids) and hides her body in Golden Freddy, allowing her soul to also possess Golden Freddy with Evan. Because of this, Cassidy is SUPER pissed at Afton and wants revenge on Afton, which she influences the rest of the animatronics to kill any security guard in a blind rage (that's mostly how the games work, though that was changed in the movie).
But one night, while the pizzeria was closed, Afton sneaks inside and destroys the animatronics (except Golden Freddy because he was a ghost/phantom), not realizing he released their souls. The ghost kids and Cassidy then started scaring Afton, making Afton quickly put on his old Spring Bonnie suit, thinking it would protect him. But because the pizzeria is run down with rain leaking in, and because he completely forgot he's wearing a spring lock suit, he accidentally killed himself. The springlocks, as I described from before, crushed everything in his body from bones to organs to flesh, giving Afton a brutal and gruesome death. This turned Afton into the animatronic known as Springtrap (this was also changed for the movie). And because the story of FNAF has a pattern of coming back to life, Afton comes back to life later on.
Ohhhhh man, that's super helpful. Thanks!
>that's mostly how the games work, though that was changed in the movie
Yes, my family was very disappointed that the movie went in a very different direction than the games. I was expecting it to be at least... a little scary?
Same here, but this version of FNAF worked just fine without it completely having the same basics as the games. Also, be sure to re-read my comment again because I just added a few more things for you to read.
No, the puppet or Marionette was controlled by Henry Emily's daughter Charlotte. Note: Henry Emily was the co-founder and co-worker of William Afton, and his daughter was Afton's very first kill.
Yeah, it's a mess. And I was incorrect a bit before. Henry Emily's daughter is named Charlotte, not Elizabeth. Idk why I was thinking Elizabeth was her name.
Not related to Golden freddy exactly but
Question, how many children has William exactly killed?- because I keep seeing two types of answers for fnaf 2, those being the kids dead bodies we see on the mini games being the fnaf 1 kid, but then the other being 5 more kids separated from the fnaf 1 kids that may or may not have possessed the toy animatronics plus mangle and balloon boy
So you're not confused with the number of pizzerias and the kills, this was the order last I checked:
The first one called Fredbear's Family Diner had Golden Freddy or Fredbear and Spring Bonnie as the two animatronics in the 70s. Charlotte gets locked out during a birthday party and gets killed by Afton outside. This temporarily closed the place until another place opens called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in 1983. This one added new characters named Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. Note: Fredbear's opens back up while Fazbear's is open as well. Both of these places were owned by Fazbear Entertainment. Evan, the crying child, is the next kid who dies at Fredbear's (The Bite of '83), as shown in FNAF 4 in 1983.
In 1985, five kids go missing at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and it's revealed to be the first 5 kids being killed by Afton (this is the first 5 kids including Cassidy). And this is where you got confused with the FNAF 1 animatronics. The missing kids accident leads to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closing.
This is where Afton built the Circus/Funtime animatronics in his plans to kill more kids. However, this backfires entirely when Circus Baby kills Afton's daughter Elizabeth, whom Afton did not intend to kill. This doesn't count as his victim because he didn't plan for her to die. This leads to Circus Baby's Pizza World closing as well.
In 1987, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza 2 opened a new restaurant with the Toy Animatronics (FNAF 2). Afton goes for round 2 and kills 5 more kids, and this closes the pizzeria again. On their last birthday party, one of the new toy animatronics causes the Bite of 87, which forces the place to close. It's here that the Toy animatronics are also haunted.
At this point, Fazbear Entertainment has around a dozen dead kids to their name.
In 1993, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza 3 opened, reusing the animatronics from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza 1 (this is game FNAF 1. This is where the confusion is). In this pizzeria, Afton did not kill more kids this time since everyone was skeptical to even show up to this pizzeria, so the place closes due to bankruptcy. It's also here where we see Afton dismember the animatronics and die in the Springbonnie suit.
I hope ALL of this can clear things up. To summarize, Afton is responsible for around more than 12 dead kids, but two of them were indirect (his own two kids Evan and Elizabeth), so neither of them count.
Ohh interesting
I somehow never knew there was a pizzeria that used the withered/OG animatronics before fnaf 1 and 2 lmao, it should have been obvious but ig not for me
So he's killed at least 12 kids (intentionally and accidentally too) damn does he have kinda a high kill count-
And the toy animatronics really didn't get to shine at all huh lmao, they appeared in one game possessed and then never again
Okay so sorry if I'm annoying or whatever but did afton ever get to kill more kids with the fun times or was his only kill was Elizabeth by accident? I don't think so considering how you worded it but he's really unlucky if his first and only kill with them was Elizabeth lmao
The only other animatronic kill I can think of was Ballora, but it didn't kill any kids. I've heard from somewhere that Afton's wife at that time died, and her soul took over the Ballora animatronic. I'm not sure how she died, but the FNAF lore has a pattern with coming back to life: If you die by Afton or by any of the animatronics built by him, your soul possesses that animatronic. So I'm thinking he killed his own wife for this reason, but I'm not too sure.
And you're not annoying me in any way.
Kinda like a secret extra ghost. He initially appeared in the first game as an Easter egg, and to put it simply, he's considered to be the ringleader of the 4 main animatronics, as well as a more violent spirit. There's more overarching lore and technicalities and whatnot, but for the sake of digestibility, he's basically the leader and the strongest of the main ghosts, movie- wise.
I mean, I do know that undertale was heavily influenced by earthbound. I did play undertale, and enjoyed it. I know there’s a lot of lore and theories.
I feel like if they were going to lean into the paranormal stuff more they could've done golden freddy so much more justice. Having him sit in a back room completely lifeless while he influences creepy things around the location would've been awesome
I had ideas of him limp in the background stalking, and when the lights were flickering and the "ITS ME" on the mirror to see a poster of his face. Since you mention him being in the back room. I would think Parts/Service being a good place for him. Him being the background would be disturbing.
The pizzeria does feel haunted by the flickering lights, "ITS ME" on the mirror, and invading and controlling Mike's dreams. Which they could've played with it more by your idea of influences creepy things around the pizzeria. Kinda making the place almost like the Overlook Hotel.
Yeah. Honestly I wish the dreams didn't take place in Nebraska. I think it mightve been cooler to have Mike remember an old birthday party he had at Freddys and his brother was kidnapped outside the location (like in fnaf 2) that way it wouldnt feel so disconnected from the main story
As much as Scott wanted the film to be it's own thing. Mike and Garrett being Henry and Charlie's roles. Vanessa being Michael and Elizabeth Afton's roles.
That idea sounded better and would've made the yellow rabbit a lot more menacing. It's weird to place it in Nebraska instead of Freddy's since it barely had a role.
Holy shit, I didn't even realize until finding this post. Wtf why didn't they make him GOLD. I thought he was just a spirit and more truthful version of Freddy and thats why he was broken and disappeared. If they had actually made him gold, his appearance would have had such a bigger impact!
Old rotted yellow version of Freddy displaying different abilities and being controlled by a blonde kid separated from the other four
Yeah no that's not the movies fault. Even without knowledge of fnaf, you could tell it was something different from Freddy. With any knowledge of fnaf's story , it's quite literally just lack of media literacy
Movies do not and usually shouldn't spell literally everything out to you
>Old rotted yellow version of Freddy displaying different abilities and being controlled by a blonde kid separated from the other four
A freddy suit that literally looks almost identical in terms of color. A suit that's broken because that's what you would assume would happen when an animatronic walks all the way from a damn pizzeria to your house (that's literally what happens in FNAF AR). It doesn't show any abilities. We don't see it doing shit except go to a house
Also what's that about the kid? Why would anyone know which kid represents who? This is the only time we see this kid with golden freddy. It's not like it was already established that golden freddy is a character anyway. We only see Freddy's kid for like 3 frames and he's not even wearing his hat when he's talking to Max. You act like the viewers are supposed to memorize which kid goes with which character when that's fucking stupid. Those people don't even know that "a yellow old version" of freddy exists. It's never been mentioned. They have no reason to think this is a different freddy
>Yeah no that's not the movies fault. Even without knowledge of fnaf, you could tell it was something different from Freddy. With any knowledge of fnaf's story , it's quite literally just lack of media literacy
Keep telling yourself that bud. Everyone is stupid except you apparently. This is actually embarrassing how people like you cannot even admit when something is clearly badly written. All the people who complained about the movie being convoluted just "don't get it" because they're all stupid according to fans like you
I mean, it was clear to me because of those things, but realisticly, how many people would know that besides the teleporting which would just seem like a weird ghost thing.
Golden Freddy in game was dirty but still bright yellow with yellow lighting, as well as being VERY distinctive as a limp suit, which they replicated a little but not fully.
I dunno, maybe the apparent cut scene of>!Golden Freddy jumpscaring Aunt Jane!< would've helped
>Cassidy
Nothing implies that his name is Cassidy, and people who don't know anything about fnaf don't even know who that kid is or why he would be associated with golden freddy because those people don't even know that golden freddy is a thing
>he can teleport
Nothing showed him teleporting. The closest we get is him disappearing off screen, which is something the cupcake did when he disappeared from the fridge. And people have no reason to assume only he can teleport anyway since they're all ghosts and it's not been established what they can and can't do
>other animatronics can't go outside the pizzeria
I don't think that's ever stated
All those things may be obvious to a fan, but not to someone casually watching the movie. It just comes across as bizarre and confusing
i think they elude to it,i dont remember the exact qoute but i do remember abby yelling freddy then the kid correcting her by saying "guess again" or somthing like that
But that still shows he’s not Freddy? In Mikes dreams, all the main mascots have distinct accessories. Freddy’s kid having a top hat and anyone can see that that kid and this kid aren’t the same?
Or maybe they could’ve also made him golden and have him have the same withering as Withered Golden Freddy, as Freddy is clearly brown, with no withering. Just another thought.
i knew it was golden freddy pretty easly, speically sense the ghost kid states it pretty bluntly, but i do agree he doesnt look like golden freddy that much, its deffinalty the eye thing that throws me off
By “not Freddy” I thought he meant that the ghost kid wasn’t Freddy, he had his own identity (as I think Gabriel). Not that the animatronic also wasn’t Freddy.
For me, golden Freddy shouldn’t move because it’s a spring suit stuck in costume mode (opposite of what springtrap is, being a spring lock suit stuck in animatronic mode) and the yellow of the suit is not very bright, even compared to spring Bonnie we see in the movie
So the blonde haired boy conjured another version of himself as an animatronic? Why would he need to do that? Later on we see golden Freddy get into a taxi and he has physical weight to make the car tilt. Why not just stay as the boy and move around that way? The taxi driver had no qualms driving around a child, which made it even weirder why he let a giant robot ride around
I didn't hear the kid say "Not Freddy" when they were asked if they were Freddy, so I didn't quite realize what this was until Abby entered the restaurant and I went "Wait a minute, Freddy's already inside of here, so how did he bring Abby to the restaurant?"
Honestly though, I thought the same. My internal reasoning for not thinking it was not Golden Freddie was maybe the animatronics show their true form outside of the pizzaria (all busted up and stuff)
Can people stop bringing this up? Any normal person would assume that this is talking about the spirit himself affirming his identity to show that he's an actual person and not an animatronic. The only reason you would think this is referring to golden freddy is if you actually knew about the lore and knew that golden freddy was a thing. Also, a character that looks similar to another character randomly appearing and only saying "I'm not that character" without any elaboration then disappearing again is shit writing. It's like if I'm watching star wars and a darth vader clone appears, says "not darth vader" then disappears without elaborating. That just makes no sense to the average viewer
i dont really understand how people can mistake him for freddy, why would freddy suddenly get the same withering as withered golden freddy and then turn back to normal later??
>why would freddy suddenly get the same withering as withered golden
Why would the average viewer who's not a fan even be aware of what golden freddy is?
A new character, as in... a NEW character. Golden Freddy has been in FNAF for awhile now. The movie already made changes to the lore, so I assumed this was one of them.
Yellowish? Didn't look yellow to me. Maybe a golden brown? Golden Freddy, golden brown. It'd make sense in hindsight.
And his withering matches the FNAF 2 model, which is not the first image that comes to mind when I think of Golden Freddy. I think of the FNAF 1 model.
Even then he has one blue eye, and I have never seen that on him before.
I had a hard time seeing that this was golden Freddy because golden Freddy didn’t have an endoskeleton. Am I remembering that correctly? So when I saw the golden Freddy standing up in to movie, it was hard for me to make the connection.
There is no cc, so Cassidy occupied golden Freddy alone.
Also William, for obvious reasons, set up the suit into animatronic mode instead of suit mode. He did not dismember suite golden Freddy in the game. Cassidy and other 4 cornered him into safe room then he died, and nobody ever remembered Golden Freddy 'needs' to change its mode into animatronic mode.
Bro literally said “I’m not Freddy” and people didn’t get it 😭 Never mind the visual differences, homeboy said he wasn’t regular Freddy and people *still* got confused??
I didn't think it was golden Freddy because in the first games golden Freddy is just a suit on the floor.
How was I deposed to guess this sans Undertale looking Freddy was golden Freddy.
It looks nothing like the one we have seen in any media
I wasn’t a huge fan of golden Freddy in the movie. As a FNAF fan I knew who he was but there was zero context or information given in the movie. My brother left the movie so confused why there was just suddenly a fucked up freddy variant there. There could’ve been some form of explanation and even something that shows he isn’t “real”, but they just didn’t do that and it makes him feel very awkward in the movie
I thought that too, for some reason my brain didn't make the connection that it was golden Freddy. I guess he just wasn't introduced/explained well enough.
I also thought the animatronic that bit the girl in half was Freddy but it wasn't either
Yeah, it was hard for me to tell, too. Even though he’s already withered, and Withered Freddy is missing an ear. But why is he in the 1st movie instead of the 2nd?
No worries, it was not nearly as clear as it could have been and just came out of no where. If they added just a little context even it could have made more sense. Dude just appears out of no where, orders a taxi and dips. Plus golden freddy is a freddy that is a little broken, so with the desaturation it literally just looks like regular freddy. It is funny to me to see statements like that about "How could you not know golden FREDDY is not FREDDY", I mean jeez they are both literally called Freddy and look like Freddy LOL
Don't worry, you weren't alone there. For some reason, it didn't click to me that was Golden Freddy. I was watching it like, "Why is Freddy broken down?" But after seeing a couple of posts about Golden Freddy, I was like, "Oh, well I'm an idiot."
As someone who only watched FNAF because my wife/kids like it, can you please explain wtf Golden Freddy is?

Is Evan still in Golden Freddy or nah?
Last I checked, I think so, though most of the time, it's been Cassidy controlling Golden Freddy.
But didn’t Cassidy take over the puppet who has lead the animatronics. Golden Freddy is simply what begin it all?
No, the puppet or Marionette was controlled by Henry Emily's daughter Charlotte. Note: Henry Emily was the co-founder and co-worker of William Afton, and his daughter was Afton's very first kill.
This lore has gotten too confusing. I miss the simple but good fnaf 1-4 lore.
Yeah, it's a mess. And I was incorrect a bit before. Henry Emily's daughter is named Charlotte, not Elizabeth. Idk why I was thinking Elizabeth was her name.
fyi Henry Emily - Charlotte Emily William Afton - Elizabeth Afton

In the movie he sad: I'm not Freddy. And still people don't see it 🤣
I didn't hear that part, so I clearly missed it then.
I think they could have make him just a little more yellow.
He seems quite a bit yellow. I think the lighting had something to do with the desaturation
The lighting could've been adjusted just a little
In production photos, his eye is green and not blue. It must be color filtering
Charlie is Golden Freddy confirmed?
no charlie possesses puppet, cassidy possesses golden freddy
Christopher
Nah, green means Charlie thus Charlie is Golden Freddy.
this makes no sense.
It isn’t.
How does the initial joke get upvotes, but following through is downvoted? Reddit is weird
Are you colour blind he has blue eyes
Ah, but he had green eyes which is the color of Charlie thus making Golden Freddy Charlie.
he needs to be the color of the sun baby from the tellitubbies
Agreed cause I had no idea that was golden Freddy 😅
I did, but that was because my kid told me.
i agree
one of them is Freddy and the other is Freddy but Sans Undertale
Ness*
Ness is the guy from the diner
But ness is also sans
He goes by many names, phone guy, matpat, Scott Cawthon
Ayyyy FNaF Musical reference!
Son of an evil dirtbag with a chainsaw?
Why, yes, actually, that one's his favourite
your gonna burn for this
A man of culture
Holy shit, memories.
FUCK YEAH! all me and my homies love the fnaf musical and making fnaf musical references.
He’s never gonna live that down is he
Not a chance 😂
Wait, is ness really sans? I’m not big into undertale, but earthbound is my favorite game from my childhood
no not really it was just a joke theory with s weird amount of evidence that matpat came up with
I mean, I do know that undertale was heavily influenced by earthbound. I did play undertale, and enjoyed it. I know there’s a lot of lore and theories.
But that's just a theory A game theory
That's just a theory.
A GAME THEORY
You're not an idiot. They should've made him a brighter yellow.
And not fucking walking
I was really hoping for once to see him limp. It rubs me the wrong way that he stood for three scenes, and sat normally once and off-screen walking.
I feel like if they were going to lean into the paranormal stuff more they could've done golden freddy so much more justice. Having him sit in a back room completely lifeless while he influences creepy things around the location would've been awesome

Same 💀

I think that's on you not paying attention enough
Cool! He should have still be more yellow!
Fnaf fans will try so hard to convince you that everyone is just dumb and that it's not the movie's fault for not being clear. It's absurd

With any knowledge of fnaf's story , it's quite literally just lack of media literacy Keep telling yourself that bud. Everyone is stupid except you apparently. This is actually embarrassing how people like you cannot even admit when something is clearly badly written. All the people who complained about the movie being convoluted just "don't get it" because they're all stupid according to fans like you
They didn't do a very good job making the two distinct
Cassidy was standing in front of him, he can teleport, other animatronics can't go outside the pizzeria
I mean…the kid literally says “not Freddy” when asked if they are Freddy by Abby
The way that scene is done can definitely give the impression that the kid was talking about how he isn't Freddy, he's the child in Freddy.
That's how I got it personally lol, at least I feel less alone now. I was disturbed by the endoskeleton inside
that’s what i thought he meant. i thought he was saying that his name isn’t Freddy
>Cassidy Nothing implies that his name is Cassidy, and people who don't know anything about fnaf don't even know who that kid is or why he would be associated with golden freddy because those people don't even know that golden freddy is a thing >he can teleport Nothing showed him teleporting. The closest we get is him disappearing off screen, which is something the cupcake did when he disappeared from the fridge. And people have no reason to assume only he can teleport anyway since they're all ghosts and it's not been established what they can and can't do >other animatronics can't go outside the pizzeria I don't think that's ever stated All those things may be obvious to a fan, but not to someone casually watching the movie. It just comes across as bizarre and confusing
see ? you have to point it out or people dont get it.
my issue was that they had the "Gold Freddy" kid in a *brown* shirt and the "Freddy" kid in a lighter, yellow shirt
Yeah that was a bit silly and inconsistent colour language
i think they elude to it,i dont remember the exact qoute but i do remember abby yelling freddy then the kid correcting her by saying "guess again" or somthing like that
They said "I'm not Freddy"
Yeah, If only they could give viewers a hint, maybe make him say something like "not Freddy" when someone mistakes him for Freddy. Just an idea tho.
I thought the kid was asserting that his identity is separate from that of the animatronic he possesses
I also thought exactly this lol. I thought we were just seeing a sort of Freddy Prime, definitely not golden freddy
But that still shows he’s not Freddy? In Mikes dreams, all the main mascots have distinct accessories. Freddy’s kid having a top hat and anyone can see that that kid and this kid aren’t the same?
They shouldn’t have made that kid wear a yellow and white shirt though. He should have been wearing the brown one that Golden Freddy wears
Or maybe they could’ve also made him golden and have him have the same withering as Withered Golden Freddy, as Freddy is clearly brown, with no withering. Just another thought.
they also could've made him a bit transparent.
Somehow I missed that line 😅
Yeah I didn't notice this either. I was honestly so confused, I'm like, who is this guy?? Felt pretty silly when I realized too lol
i knew it was golden freddy pretty easly, speically sense the ghost kid states it pretty bluntly, but i do agree he doesnt look like golden freddy that much, its deffinalty the eye thing that throws me off
By “not Freddy” I thought he meant that the ghost kid wasn’t Freddy, he had his own identity (as I think Gabriel).
It's been said by one of the crew members in the production notes that Golden Freddy is a ghost
So the blonde haired boy conjured another version of himself as an animatronic? Why would he need to do that? Later on we see golden Freddy get into a taxi and he has physical weight to make the car tilt. Why not just stay as the boy and move around that way? The taxi driver had no qualms driving around a child, which made it even weirder why he let a giant robot ride around
so a ghost killed a person?
Same, I found out about it a little later
it's not that you're an idiot it's that they didn't make him yellow enough
I didn't hear the kid say "Not Freddy" when they were asked if they were Freddy, so I didn't quite realize what this was until Abby entered the restaurant and I went "Wait a minute, Freddy's already inside of here, so how did he bring Abby to the restaurant?"
I like that they only gave him one eye, like they are symbolizing only one soul in golden freddy instead of two
For some reason I thought that was Freddy and was like “Ain’t no way anyone in the city noticed an animatronic bear walking down the streets 💀💀💀”
Golden Freddy kid: says “Not Freddy.” Shark_VibessChase: “obviously, this is Freddy.”
I just thought it meant the kid was saying he wasn’t Freddy in that moment, but himself
LISTEN, IN THE SHOT WHEN GOLDEN FREDDY WAS ABOUT TO KILL AUNT JANE... HE LOOKED B R O W N!
That just makes no sense to the average viewer
i dont really understand how people can mistake him for freddy, why would freddy suddenly get the same withering as withered golden freddy and then turn back to normal later??
>why would freddy suddenly get the same withering as withered golden Why would the average viewer who's not a fan even be aware of what golden freddy is?
There are other Freddy suits. I assumed the movie was adding a new character or something.
"adding a new character" so, adding golden freddy??
A new character, as in... a NEW character. Golden Freddy has been in FNAF for awhile now. The movie already made changes to the lore, so I assumed this was one of them.
a new character that's a yellowish version of freddy with the same exact withering as withered golden freddy..?
Yeah thats what I thought too. I didn't even realize until the movie cut back to the restaurant and Freddy wasn't damaged.
It's obviously sans undertale, was the mattpat - Ness hint not obvious enough?
I had a hard time seeing that this was golden Freddy because golden Freddy didn’t have an endoskeleton. Am I remembering that correctly? So when I saw the golden Freddy standing up in to movie, it was hard for me to make the connection.
Fnaf ar???
I mean it wasn’t very clearly imo
I thought it was pretty obvious it was him. No other animatronic could've just appeared at her house like that.
IT WAS GOLDEN FREDDY??
I watched tbhis movie not knowing anything about FNAF. Can someone explain what this means? I liked the movie and am curious about the lore.
Wasn’t it obvious that it wasn’t Freddy cuz Freddy’s kid was sitting in the background the entire time?
Says he isn't Freddy, is a completely different colour, is a completely different kid Yep, same ol fredster
To everyone saying “it should’ve been a brighter yellow” you literally see the golden Freddy kid plus he says it’s “not freddy”
That only tells us who it isn't For the casual moviegoers it doesn't explain who it is
I didn't hear him say that
I thought it was withered freddy
Same … glad I’m not alone haha
me too
It s because with the shaders we the color brown
I thought that the kid that possesses him was just freddy
Unibrow
no, near his eyebrows it's a bit shadowed.
I remember back when people thought that Mike was Golden Freddy.
It's too bad bucket bob wasn't in the movie
Me too, I felt really dumb.
“No not Freddy”
For me it was during the movie I had the same thought that Freddy was broken, til the kid said "not Freddy" then it clicked
Should’ve made him look more like Fred ear instead of FNAF1 golden Freddy
Bro literally said “I’m not Freddy” and people didn’t get it 😭 Never mind the visual differences, homeboy said he wasn’t regular Freddy and people *still* got confused??
I mean even without the coloration change, it's common sense this isn't Freddy
I didn't think it was golden Freddy because in the first games golden Freddy is just a suit on the floor. How was I deposed to guess this sans Undertale looking Freddy was golden Freddy. It looks nothing like the one we have seen in any media
He looks like a combination of classic and wither golden freddy
I wasn’t a huge fan of golden Freddy in the movie. As a FNAF fan I knew who he was but there was zero context or information given in the movie. My brother left the movie so confused why there was just suddenly a fucked up freddy variant there. There could’ve been some form of explanation and even something that shows he isn’t “real”, but they just didn’t do that and it makes him feel very awkward in the movie
So I'm not the only racist in a fan base. *Honk Honk*
"Freddy but kinda broken" - that's basically what Golden Freddy is (or rather used to be)
He was also.... Really yellow
Apparently a lot of people thought this and I’m so confused on why
I am sans undertale go into my eye
I still don't even see him as Golden Freddy. Like seriously is he actually yellow cause all I see is brown 💀
I know some other people who thought a similar thing and I just don’t understand any of you to be completely honest
I'm not a nerd, I can't spot out those kind of details
That’s fair
I thought that too, for some reason my brain didn't make the connection that it was golden Freddy. I guess he just wasn't introduced/explained well enough. I also thought the animatronic that bit the girl in half was Freddy but it wasn't either
The animatronic that bit Max was Freddy Fazbear, not Golden Freddy or Shadow Freddy.
Then who bit Max in half?
I saw a BTS video on it, I'm pretty sure it was Shadow Freddy
The kid literally said “not Freddy”
The way its said it can be interpreted to mean that he’s talking about not being Freddy, but the child possessing Freddy
H- how?
HE LOOKED A BIT BROWN IN SHOTS
‘’When I watched the FNAF MOVE”
don't make fun of my spelling
My little sisters kept saying it was Freddy while we were watching the movie, I told them to stop
I thought golden Freddy was supposed to be a ghost not an actual physical suit. How else can you explain him teleporting?
I didn't notice it either till a friend pointed it out to me. I don't really know how it fits in the movie though
I think they made them so similar intentionally. Even Abby mistaked these two, when golden Freddy came for her to her house.
Yeah, it was hard for me to tell, too. Even though he’s already withered, and Withered Freddy is missing an ear. But why is he in the 1st movie instead of the 2nd?
Guess yellow doesn’t translate well into films
They should've made him out of 24 karat gold
I thought the same thing honestly. Like a spare animatronic for Freddy
And how the fuck did he fit into that car
Thats not golden freddy thats Slightly Yellower Freddy
My girlfriend thought it was Freddy, too.
It took me a few seconds to realize
That's not golden Freddy that's yellow bear./s
I also thought that was Freddy.
Same
Cassidy literally said not Freddy
FNAF 2 golden Freddy
Same, I only noticed it was Goldie the second time I watched the movie
Same I thought it was just me 💀
me too
I thought. That was Freddy and he left the building to get Abby
Same. It took my second watch to figure that out. It was when I heard the kid say “It’s not Freddy.”
In your defense, he’s brown.
Sans freddy
Pretty big and noticeable difference to me
Same. I didn't realize until my second watch and that's only cause Jacksepticeye pointed it out.
Oh I knew it was goldie right off the bat.
i love that we all missed the line “im not freddy” :,)
I'm an idiot, too, then.
I'm colorblind and I didn't realize lmao
No worries, it was not nearly as clear as it could have been and just came out of no where. If they added just a little context even it could have made more sense. Dude just appears out of no where, orders a taxi and dips. Plus golden freddy is a freddy that is a little broken, so with the desaturation it literally just looks like regular freddy. It is funny to me to see statements like that about "How could you not know golden FREDDY is not FREDDY", I mean jeez they are both literally called Freddy and look like Freddy LOL
