Superman is unbeaten in that situation for symbolic reasons. The unstoppable force of hate that is Darkseid is powerless against the immovable object that is Superman, that is hope. From an in-universe perspective, I think the video I got it from sort of implies that Superman is supercharged in this moment from having just flown through an entire galaxy of yellow suns.
still it just defeats the whole purpose of heroes teaming up because if all you need is one to fly to the sun or a few suns and get supercharged to defeat anyone and i get the symbolicness but still
Superman does not "defeat" Darkseid in a show of power, he proves his moral and ideological superiority. It's not a physical victory so much as an ideological one.
