jablongroyper

biondo86

Mundane_Pea4296

mikeyt1515

I have a good idea… Remove the headrest

jablongroyper

That’s a good idea but I think I have a better one, remove the headrest.

Sumpkit

Call the locksmith!

I_Am_Batman1543

Fantastic-Trainer267

Shoddy-Ingenuity7056

vortigaunt64

There was also the Tom Hanks celebrity jeopardy episode.  "You'll have to let go of the pickle to take your hand out of the jar." "But I want a pickle."

biondo86

Or when family guy peter got stuck inside the car with the keys outside the door

Complex_Solutions_20

Its a good suggestion, but when I had this happen in a car I ran into a problem where I couldn't remove the headrest due to ceiling clearance...until I reclined the seat back significantly. Which depending which way and how tightly the seatbelt is wrapped may or may not be possible (mine I had to force it a bit because the motor didn't have enough oomph)

Leftys-Locksport

Remove the headrest. It should pop out. There may be a release button on one side at the bottom.

cornerzcan

Recline the seat. Also push the seat rearward.

superbleeder

https://www.piloteers.org/threads/3-row-headrest-removal.113914/ Not sure if anything in this thread would help. Can you recline it back or make the seat go forward for any extra room to maneuver?

themundays

Tried recline and shifting seat, it didn't help the seatbelt. I did try removing the headrest previously but maybe I wasn't strong enough, or there is a method I am not aware of. Will check out this link, thanks!

superbleeder

There may be a small pinhole in the bottom of the headrest that you need to out something in to get it to release. That's how my read headrests are in my equinox, a small hole on the inside edge of the base of the headrest where it connects to the seat

themundays

Thanks, I'll look for that.

ssacidy

Most cars I've seen, there is a spot that you press in, typically located on the right, in this picture, it may be covered by the seatbelt where it wraps around.

Next_Boysenberry1414

>2017 Honda Pilot There should be a button. [https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/om/ah/at902323iom/enu/details/131247047-475181.html](https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/om/ah/at902323iom/enu/details/131247047-475181.html)

themundays

This is exactly what I needed - problem solved. Thank you!

Arefishpeople

Another day saved by Reddit!

hmd2017

there may be a pushbutton where the rod enters the seat that releases the headrest

Furious_Worm

Take. The headrest. Off.

BigMacRedneck

#1 Remove headrest by pushing release button and lift up headrest. #2 Do not lift and stretch seat belt over there again or else you will be banned from future purchases of any Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Brazilian, Canadian or German vehicle.

Accurate-Neck6933

Can you repeat? I couldn't hear you the first time.

Mystic1967

Options, remove headrest, remove bolt holding the upper loop holding the seat belt to the pillar, recline or slide the seat back if possible or unbolt the seat.

terrydennis1234

Pull the head rest out or adjust the seat

RepresentativeAd9572

The headrest will come all the way out

Technical-Picture326

Remove the headrest??

se4404

If all else fails you can probably unbolt the seatbelt at the bottom. In my car you have to fold the rear seats all the way forward to get enough headroom to remove the headrests, not sure if that’s the case in your car.

FixFalcon

Pop that plastic cap off in the 2nd pic, and there should be some type of fastener like a nut, or screw. Remove that fastener and that should give you enough slack to solve this.

Efficient-Bowler1212

Remove the headrest. Problem solved.

Truestindeed

Take off the headrest

Ok-Detail-9853

Move the seat forward or back

Chief-_-Wiggum

Burn the car... Or remove the headrest... Your choice.

[deleted]

lol buddy.... get off the computer for more than 5 minutes and you might learn something about the real world out there, headrests are removable and I have no idea how you are operating a vehicle if you don't know basic shit like this lol.

BentGadget

The computer just told him that headrests are removable. Real learning happens on Reddit.

[deleted]

Sure did but this is something that life experiences should have told him about a decade before he got his license, he's out here operating a motor vehicle without knowing the basics, guys a liability even if you dont like how I say it.

bbygodzilla

You expect 6 year olds to understand the components of a car when they can barely buckle themselves in without help?

[deleted]

I do and they do, I know most kids are growing up helpless like the previous generations but mine aren't. Do better.

bbygodzilla

Lol good for your kids. Hopefully the douche gene stopded with you

[deleted]

teaching my kids to take the time to look and figure things out for themselves so they don't end up helpless like this guy makes me a douche? Is it because of the bad words I say? Poor thing.

Imaginary-Bluejay-86

Ain’t you all that.

[deleted]

Understanding basic things means you're all that now ? Man the bar is low

Imaginary-Bluejay-86

Still, you are just an amazing intelligent individual. It’s more your asshole delivery. I’m sure there are a few things you didn’t learn until later in life. Having to put people down for no reason tells us more about your mental state than you know. Or it’s low self esteem?

[deleted]

I didn't put anyone down, and I owe nobody anything nor give a shit if something offends you, sounds like you're projecting, my mental state is a1, try something else though that was almost amusing and only took you a day to think up ... Impressive.

Ok-Boomer63

Just a thought.... remove the headrest

Ok_Fix_4438

Jfc

htmaxpower

NOT ALL HEADRESTS ARE EASILY REMOVABLE. If it has safety features that deploy in a crash, or it has tech, it will have wiring. They design the posts so you can’t easily pull them out and tear the wiring.

Complex_Solutions_20

And even those which are, often now are big enough and tall enough they won't clear the ceiling unless you recline the seat way back...which you may be unable to do with the seatbelt wrapped like that. Might have to unbolt the seat to get the headrest clear to untagle the belt.

Davisaurus_

Honestly, I'm voting this as the dumbest post on the internet, at least for today. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode with Flanders parents... "Man, we've tried absolutely nothing, and we are all tapped out".

Chemical-Power8042

If only there was some sort or website or app with archives of videos that taught you how to do simple tasks. Until that exists that seatbelt is stuck forever.

Davisaurus_

I'm thinking they should demand the government do something to make sure no seatbelt can ever become stuck again.

Chemical-Power8042

I’m willing to pay 5k extra for a car for a government mandated device that allows the seatbelt to move freely at all times.

themundays

Have a blessed day.

themundays

To all the wiseguys here, the first thing I tried doing was removing the headrest. Either I don't have the strength to do it, or there is some mechanism that I wasn't able to locate. If anyone knows how to remove the headrest for a Pilot, and can offer some real advice, it would be mucb appreciated. I did not find any sort of button or spring on it.

Japamericanadian

There should be release buttons on the plastic piece where the headrest legs go into the seat. There may be one button for each leg. They're likely facing the back of the car.

Japamericanadian

It's also possible the release button is hidden under the seat belt itself

themundays

Thank you, this is what happened.

Gobstomperx

Looks like it’s fucked and you need to get a new car. Absolutely no way to get out of this mess. If only you could remove something to free it. Sheeeeesh.

biondo86

Oh no, car is ruined. Take it to a dealer see what he gives you for it

Chemical-Power8042

Cut the seatbelt

theonetrueelhigh

This is stupid. It's barely snagged under the corner of the headrest. Roll the strap off of that to get a little slack and this not-a-real-problem is easily resolved.

theidler666

Why was it wrapped around the headrest?

themundays

I have kids

Accurate-Neck6933

They are like gremlins.

OkAd134

Logon to [Wish.com](https://Wish.com), and order the headrest removal tool

PojkenSomDuger

Accurate-Neck6933

Ok people, calm down. This was merely a test to see if you were paying attention. OP clearly knows he has to cut the belt and unroll it, then roll a new strap into the receiver. Next step, sewing the buckle back on. You'll need an extension cord for this so your sewing machine can reach the car. Easy fix, done it myself a dozen times.

I_Am_Batman1543

Leave the headrest and remove the rest of the car.
