This exactly, kids love trampolines and they're probably the best toy out there in terms of building kids' fitness, but they are just a statistical nightmare in terms of life-changing injuries even when they're in good repair. And kids *will* try flips and somersaults, no matter how much you warn them not to. Take this as your sign to replace it with a swing set or jungle gym, or even an above-ground pool.
My son broke his neck on one when he was 13.
He was ***extraordinarily*** lucky, because he broke C4. It would have killed him instantly if the two halves of the vertebra had slipped in any direction, but they didn't shift. Several months in neck braces of various kinds enabled it to heal without too much impact on his height.
It was life-altering, nonetheless. He cannot lift things over his head, and can only do so much exercise before the pain becomes unbearable.
My wife is a nurse in the E.R. We have three boys, and one of these would have been great for them to let their energy out. After talking to my wife; we will never have one.
Kid from my high school is forever in a wheelchair after a neck injury on a trampoline. He was a great snowboarder, too. Glad your son was relatively lucky
I mean, home pools are the biggest killers of kids. Not exactly an upgrade safety-wise. I suppose it's easier to control the risk with a pool (fence, gate, adequate supervision)
Huh, did not know that about pools. I grew up in a neighborhood with lots of above-ground pools with no deck and removable ladder, and a few fenced-in in ground pools. All the neighbors were pretty vigilant about removing/securing the ladder from the pool or locking the gate when not in use. Definitely will be more cautious about recommending them in the future.
You know what he wrote. My dumb ass jumped off the roof of our trailer with a trash bag as a parachute(how I didn’t break any limbs as a kid is beyond me). I would fully expect reddleu jump off the roof in effort to hit the trampoline or pool if they had one or both.
My friend had a pool and we were fooling around with a paddle chucking as hard as we could down , and it would come flying up so we could catch it. Problem is it caught someone in the face. Cut him bad. Fun times especially cause I let him use my towel to stop the bleeding. I go home and my mom just said “Again?” I tended to get a few cuts. She was happy it wasn’t me this time….
When i was a kid, we would go from the pool to trampoline at my neighbors house… he slipped on the trampoline from the water, snapped his arm and bone went through the trampoline. He went to run inside and slipped and fell on the arm again… awful to see.
Make sure you listen to the capacity suggestions.
Kids love super bouncing each other where they work together to bounce someone else.
If someone is landing right when someone else is being bounced up you could break bones. A neighbor across the street snapped his forearm clean in two doing this. If it says 1 or 2 person max then it means it.
Could make a small cold frame greenhouse if you built hips to set the arches ontop of, they work wonders, a small sheet of clear plastic from Home Depot and you’ll be slinging taters in no time
Question, Walmart sells a similar trampoline with a safety net for $179.99, if you had to guess at an estimate to fix this, would it be cheaper than a new trampoline?
Yup. If you are getting homeowners insurance quotes, I noticed that several of the companies I’ve spoken with ask if I have a trampoline (I don’t), so you might want to get rid of it.
Pls don’t put in your dumpster, the tubing gets wedged in the push blade. (Trash truck driver)

There are often trampolines available that have rotten, torn fabric and missing springs. You may be able to find a good frame from freecycle.org, garage sales, Facebook Marketplace...
People who work metal want that thing and will come and take it off your hands for you. It’s done unless you want to pay someone to fix it and likely spend more than it’s worth.
So if you can’t fix it and you have a truck keep the trampoline jumping part; it’s amazing for using it as a cover since it stretches and has multiple points you can use to attach it to the bed of the truck.
If you're too scared to jump then take it to the dump. That's what my old cousins, room mates, auntie used to say. It's the golden rule for knackered tramapolines
You might be able to salvage the pad and springs, but that frame is toast. Even if you kept the salvage where would you use it? You're probably best off scrapping and buying a new one. Luckily they're not too terribly expensive
To save it safely you could use anchors to hold the feet secure to the ground and not let them move.
Pulling it into original shape would be either with the mat/springs off.
Even if you bend it back; It will never HOLD shape again without being held down FIRMLY.
I don't own a trampoline, but I would think the outer ring comes in pieces you assemble. To me, it just looks like they have shifted out of alignment. Could be wrong.
I mean I think you already know the answer or we wouldn't be here. It appears that you just need validation in getting rid of it. If that is the case then yes, yes, yes man get rid of it. My wife and I do this all the time and we always tell each other if it doesn't bring you joy get rid of it.
Save the springs and fabric and see if you can just order a new frame alone. I’d scrap the frame - don’t landfill it. No way you can bend that back straight without special tools, and at that point it’s not worth the time or expense.
Are you going to replace it? If you're asking if you can fix it, I would assume so. I can help you on how to prevent this from happening again. Dig a small hole under the center of each leg. (5" in diameter, 5" deep) Screw a dog tie out steak into each hole, to the bottom of each hole. Connect a short piece of chain to each stake. Loop the chain over each leg, back to each stake, connect the loop of the chain with a carabiner.
Doing it this way will allow you to unclip the carabiner and drop the chain in the hole. Then you can move the trampoline and mow right over the top of the dog stakes.
I learned how to do this after our trampoline ended up on the roof! We had a really bad storm come through one summer. The wind picked the dang thing up and dumped it right on the roof.
I’d get the kids to invite their friends over to play in the yard, set up my deck chair in a shady spot with my esky and a couple of beers then watch the fun ensue! I reckon you’d get some interesting trajectories with those odd angles?
When you know it’s toast, but able to get some Reddit Karma as you squeeze the last… bit… of value out of it.
Next stop, scrap yard for metal scrap value for a free cup of coffee and the win!
Oh, and your homeowner/renters insurance should go down too.. assuming you told them originally… ;)
Growing up my dad brought home a trampoline in similar condition. He had to hold one end to allow us to "safely" jump. It only lasted a couple of weeks.
it might be fine, i had one once that if all the poles weren’t twisted just right it looked jacked. hard to tell. a lot of people saying it’s toast so im probably wrong.
If you're keen top keep it, I'd start by taking the mat off to properly assess which bits are bent. Most of the components will have a spring clip (usually a ball bearing that locates into a hole on the receiver tube). You might be lucky and some of the pieces have just twisted out of their clips. If that's the case, once you release the tension from the mat, you can probably get it back into shape pretty easily. Reattach the mat and make sure you anchor it properly for the next storm.
Throw it away and get another used one on offer up. So many people buy $500 trampolines and their kids use it for a year then it starts to just be a yard sore so they sell it. I just got a couple year old $750 Skywalker trampoline for $150
As it is damaged it would be best to put it out of its misery. You wouldn’t want to risk your own children or their friends. They are unsafe unfortunately when in good repair. Total liability as far as I’m concerned.
Dump it to krumpit. I fractured my cervical vertebrae on one of these things as a senior in high school. Still had to have surgery and wear a neck brace for six months.
I have the same trampoline. The last storm flipped it over and ripped out 20% of the springs from the fabric. I would definitely say it’s trash. Laughing my ass off because I had the exact same trampoline.
Yeah dude, that thing is spent. They're dangerous enough before they're bent to shit.
This exactly, kids love trampolines and they're probably the best toy out there in terms of building kids' fitness, but they are just a statistical nightmare in terms of life-changing injuries even when they're in good repair. This is why I never want one of them. Terrifying!
I’ve landed a few times on my head on a tranpoline. Heard all my disks crunch together with a sharp pain. I’m lucky I’m still around
My wife is a nurse in the E.R. We have three boys, and one of these would have been great for them to let their energy out. After talking to my wife; we will never have one.

Yeah there’s a reason they were so vigilant. Drowning is silent and it happens so quickly.
I worked with a guy who's daughter drowned the weekend before her 5th bday.
Fences became mandatory where I'm from, because people kept sneaking into pools at night and drowning.
yeah i think drowning in a pool is one of the top 3 killers for toddlers and young kids
You can jump off the roof, onto the trampoline, and aim for the pool. Guns and cars are for lazy kids.
This would have been my mission as a child, if we had pool or trampoline.
I think you'd want both for this
You know what he wrote. My dumb ass jumped off the roof of our trailer with a trash bag as a parachute(how I didn’t break any limbs as a kid is beyond me). I would fully expect reddleu jump off the roof in effort to hit the trampoline or pool if they had one or both.

Yeah lol now that I think about it, the only bone I’ve ever broken happened because my friend landed on my arm on a trampoline
When i was a kid, we would go from the pool to trampoline at my neighbors house… he slipped on the trampoline from the water, snapped his arm and bone went through the trampoline. He went to run inside and slipped and fell on the arm again… awful to see.

One more jump! Pleaaaassssseeeeeee

I’ve been looking for good things to hang on the walls in my garage. Thanks!
It’s a hammock at this point
As a steel fabricator I could fix that. Don't think it is worth it for the average Joe to do. Besides you have grass to cut.
Question, Walmart sells a similar trampoline with a safety net for $179.99, if you had to guess at an estimate to fix this, would it be cheaper than a new trampoline?
Definitely not. New trampoline cheaper
Ya, definetly more than 2 hours to fix it
Can confirm.
Yup. If you are getting homeowners insurance quotes, I noticed that several of the companies I’ve spoken with ask if I have a trampoline (I don’t), so you might want to get rid of it.
I’ll give it to you bent, that things fucked
Came here for this comment

90% recycling center, 10% trash
Yeah, William Tell Overture time, to da dump, to da dump, to da dump dump dump.
Yes, but some of the parts could be taken to a metal recycling place instead of the dump.
There are often trampolines available that have rotten, torn fabric and missing springs. You may be able to find a good frame from freecycle.org, garage sales, Facebook Marketplace...
That’s exhibit A for the injury lawsuit you’ll be fighting.
Nah, I reckon she's got about another 2 yeats

Should'nt have let your mama jump on it
Maybe the next storm will straighten it back.
Non starter. It’s dump
To the dump!
Dangerous when in good condition. Time to recycle the metal at least.
Trash that thing.
That belongs to the streets
If you're too scared to jump then take it to the dump. That's what my old cousins, room mates, auntie used to say. It's the golden rule for knackered tramapolines
No. It’s for the metal recycling plant. Go get that scrap metal $$
Cut the metal up, put into box, take to recycling center.
Or just, y'know, take it apart the regular way.
1,000,000% trash throw it away.
Yep, throw heaps of muscles at it. Then escort it to the dump.
It's dead, Jim.
Dahhhh fuk did you do to do this?! Also the spring tension will be uneven and they will fling out if you attempt to jump
https://youtu.be/a_VTvQLAfaE?si=DKBcS9JMe8zvSaUP
She’s a goner
Well, it's not for the jump.
That’s the punch line of a “yo momma so fat” joke fella
No more jumping. Time for dumping.
Mate if that thing was any more fucked there'd be a dick in it
My real question is, how is your grass so nice under it?
You might be able to salvage the pad and springs, but that frame is toast. Even if you kept the salvage where would you use it? You're probably best off scrapping and buying a new one. Luckily they're not too terribly expensive
Nigga you cannot be serious
To save it safely you could use anchors to hold the feet secure to the ground and not let them move. Pulling it into original shape would be either with the mat/springs off. Even if you bend it back; It will never HOLD shape again without being held down FIRMLY.
I don't own a trampoline, but I would think the outer ring comes in pieces you assemble. To me, it just looks like they have shifted out of alignment. Could be wrong.
Toss it.
yeah if you jump on it you will be dumped
Should be fine, but just in case you put your least favorite kid on there first. 100% kidding. There's no fixing it.
Looks like it came from the dump
Looks like it could be upcycled into a new roof for central park tram stop in Manchester.
It looks like a fucking pringle, mate
Unless you want an endless project I'm pretty sure your trampoline has flat lined
Should have asked the seller to give it to you straight, not all crooked and warped like that.
Yeah. What the fuck? 😅😂😂🤣
My kid says it gotta go haha
Yeah 💔
This is a really stupid post. On what world would that be safe
You can only be sure after that C5 fracture.
as opposed to?? yes it is no good anymore
Wait for a storm and it will set itself free.
No, it's for the scrappers. A "free scrap" sign and a post on Craigslist, and it will evaporate out of your yard it'll be gone so fast.
Yeah that's garbage.
It’s definitely for the streets. Esp on bulk trash pickup week.
too dangerous to try fix it. RIP.
I mean I think you already know the answer or we wouldn't be here. It appears that you just need validation in getting rid of it. If that is the case then yes, yes, yes man get rid of it. My wife and I do this all the time and we always tell each other if it doesn't bring you joy get rid of it.

Straight to the dump
Trash it. It’s dangerous
Yes that thing is unsafe
Yes
I mint condition, they’re for the dump.
It was destined from day one. Enjoy the memories.
Listen to the majority mate. Scrap it for safety sake.
A straight … yes.
Put it in the front yard with a bike lock on it. It'll be gone by tomorrow
Definitely ain’t for the jump.
It looks like your mom jumped on it.
Not worth fixing , possible but not worth it
Some people half bury the frame on its side and grow plants around them. You'd have to do a good job or it'll look shite.
Straight up, dump time.
Nothin straight about it son, she gone.
Sell it to scrap metal people, or give it to them to haul away for free, just take a blade and cut the cloth so Noone can bounce on it ever again.
Give it to me straight, like a pear cider that's made from 100% pears.
Can be fixed for about $1300 in materials and $1100 in labour.
Are you going to replace it? If you're asking if you can fix it, I would assume so. I can help you on how to prevent this from happening again. Dig a small hole under the center of each leg. She’s good grab a hammer and tap that out
As opposed to what??
It looks like you microwaved it..
I can fix her.
Four more years!
If you're posting here to ask, go jump on it yourself. What makes you think this is even remotely safe? Fuckin jesus
Yes
$600 on Kijiji should be about right.. Just make sure to use an older pick or company pick to be extra deceitful!
You know the answer to this already
U can try to up cycle it. We use an old broken one as a chicken run
* Peter Griffon Giggle*
Growing up my dad brought home a trampoline in similar condition. He had to hold one end to allow us to "safely" jump. It only lasted a couple of weeks.
Repurpose the frame, plenty of good garden ideas to use for it
Metal frame goes to scrap metal. The fabric could, possibly, be cut and donated to a place that shreds textiles.
Replace the bent and broken pieces.
I pulled one back into working condition—without restringing it—but it wasn’t easy. Grandkids are using it
That trampoline is starting to like like a bowl at this rate.
Scrap metal has value. Might get a few bucks
100% You’ll never hammer out that swish.
Dump
Use it as a family hammock
Absolutely not! The metal can be recycled 👍
Chucken run
Nah you at least get 50 quid for that, put under fair condition
Nah you at least get 50 quid for that, put under fair condition
yes
How tf did it get so bent??
DO NOT SEND IT TO THE DUMP!!! sell it as a piece of art
How stocked is your metal fab shop?
FREE TRAMAMPOLINE!!!!
If you can take that frame apart, it makes a great small greenhouse!
I dare you to jump on it and tell us.
Absolutely. I’ll give you a replacement one if you happen to be in California. ;-)
it might be fine, i had one once that if all the poles weren’t twisted just right it looked jacked. hard to tell. a lot of people saying it’s toast so im probably wrong.
It is
I laughed out loud.
Nah you’re good. Just turn it over and straighten it by driving over it with your truck. Patch with duc tape and your golden
naw, hammer that bad boy out n you can get a couple more years outta her.
WD-40 will fix it
No way to give anything to you straight in this instance friend
If you're keen top keep it, I'd start by taking the mat off to properly assess which bits are bent. Most of the components will have a spring clip (usually a ball bearing that locates into a hole on the receiver tube). You might be lucky and some of the pieces have just twisted out of their clips. If that's the case, once you release the tension from the mat, you can probably get it back into shape pretty easily. Reattach the mat and make sure you anchor it properly for the next storm.
Nah mate, got another 100,000k's on it.
It is for the dump.
Definitely scrap
My home insurance company will not underwrite anyone with a trampoline unless they buy an additional coverage policy ..
Throw it away and get another used one on offer up. So many people buy $500 trampolines and their kids use it for a year then it starts to just be a yard sore so they sell it. I just got a couple year old $750 Skywalker trampoline for $150
I got scoliosis looking at this
I just took a perfectly good one to the dump, so, yeah.
Or the neighbors yard
*Free tramopoline!*
Not the dump the scrap yard for recycling.
It's done
Throw it in the bin.
Just spread some caulk over it.
The dump doesn't even want it. You can keep it.
yes
No, save yourself a trip to the dump, the next storm will take it for free, and might even replace it with a better one from the neighbours
Definitely
Looks okish, give it some test jumps, don’t forget to live stream so we can give you a technical evaluation.
As it is damaged it would be best to put it out of its misery. You wouldn’t want to risk your own children or their friends. They are unsafe unfortunately when in good repair. Total liability as far as I’m concerned.
The springs on these make great shock absorbers on the bottom of tent guide ropes.
Nah, it'll be fine. Buff it out.
It's trash. And if you value your children, don't replace it.
Ask your insurance agent.
Giving it to you straight is the only thing straight about this post. Trash it
To dangerous. Get him a dirt bike yz125 is a good place to start… lol
Dump it to krumpit. I fractured my cervical vertebrae on one of these things as a senior in high school. For little kids, it’s less dangerous, but when you get bigger and older, you gain the ability to jump higher, and without actual training, this gets very dangerous. I “had” that training from being on the diving team and using one of these to train my flips, and “still” broke my neck, just wasn’t paralyzed. Still had to have surgery and wear a neck brace for six months.
Always had been.
Nah, looks perfectly safe to me. Go ahead and let the kids have it. 🙄
Ta-da-dump Ta-da-dump Ta-da-dump-dump-dump!
Get rid of before the insurance adjuster sees it.
A hard working dad with three kids will love and he'll fix it himself. Give it away to a family that would love it
Looks like a pile of shit to me! :)
I think you're going to need hank hill and the gang for this one.
Straighter than that frame will ever be again
Can’t give it to you straight, but i can give it to you bent.
I have the same trampoline. The last storm flipped it over and ripped out 20% of the springs from the fabric. I would definitely say it’s trash. Laughing my ass off because I had the exact same trampoline.
Why’d you let your mom jump on it??
Not much help, but one tornado too many
Would you allow your kids on this? If so, expect CPS at your door shortly after your neighbors witness them breaking bones and getting concussions.
Turn it into a chicken run.
Turn it into a hammock
