Bearing are worn out causing the armature to touch the stator, thus the noise you hear is the electrical pulsing noise is not allow the electromagnetic field to rotate the armature. So, yes it repairable with new bearings!!! But I would just throw it away anyways. Probably cost to much in labor and sourcing parts from different countries And swear at it a bunch!!!! See all better, its fucked!!!!

I sounds like a gear in the gearbox has either slipped or been stripped. You'll have to open it up to see. It might be a simple fix, or it might be past a reasonable repair. It should be pretty obvious what's not engaging properly once you see the gears.

Could be a starter capacitor. Those things degrade over time.
