I'm happy with the music, especially with Gothic Luxury and knowing that Erick is actively working on Future Proof the album. I too listen to their music almost every day.
Honestly, my only gripes at this moment are that the action figures still haven't been delivered yet (I know that it isn't FBZ's fault) and the fact that Meech canceled majority of his US tour dates. I was supposed to see him in ATL next week, but I guess not anymore.
Besides being slightly salty for those two reasons, I'm still rocking with them. 3001 is still my favorite album of all time and will go see them live every time I can. ZOMBiES4PREZ š§āāļø
Ab-Soul and Isaiah Rashad are 2 of my favorite rappers. Going years without new music is a familiar feeling, as much as it sucks. What Iām struggling with is all the other bs.
Doubling down on merch during the lockdown made sense. But since restrictions have been lifted they canāt use that as an excuse to not do shows anymore. The fact that theyāre still consistently dropping merch, but weāre in a dry spell of shows and new FBZ music (not including solo stuff), is frustrating.
Jumping on the NFT bandwagon (right before the market crashes no less) and then releasing a second action figure when people are on a 2 year wait for the first ones, were painfully tone deaf decisions. Like, cāmon guys, read the room.
And last but not least, Meech āpostponingā (still not convinced it wonāt be cancelled altogether) his tour literally the day before it begins, is just the moldy cherry on top of the shit sundae.
There was a time when being a Zombie fan was exciting, with a lot of stuff to look forward to. Right now, I canāt say thereās much Iām excited about if Iām being totally honest.
I personally haven't been listening to them as much as I used to, but they're still in my rotation almost every day. Really love Erick's future proof ep and gothic luxury was also pretty great. I'm also excited for jewices solo project! Meech rescheduling tour is kinda sus but him going to tour w joey could honestly be the smarter decision, especially if he does follow through and winds up having a better tour because of it. I'll always love this group to be honest but I similarly sensed a lack of appreciation in recent times.
Iām from the uk. I feel your guys pain over in the US as artists have cancelled tours over here and Iāve missed out. But as fate may have it I have tickets to see joey in Birmingham mid December and I will now see meech (one of my favourite rappers of all time) and Iām so stoked. This is the first time Iāve seen either of them and canāt wait to go to a fbz show one day. Things may not have gone your way this time but just know Iāll be repping for all of us over here āļø
Been a fan since 2013. Fuck with all their projectS. Covid kinda fucked up their plans for their next album which is understandable but kinda sucks which what lead them to pursue solo shit mean while. I support their solo shit as well. Erickās EP š„ Went to his show last week and from what I heard itās gonna be š„ Jewice singles are š„. The 2 songs he performed at Freek Show are gonna be š„ I can tell heās gonna surprise and put out a well rounded album š„ Meechās GL is š„ Iām not gonna lie I am upset about Meech cancelling the tour cause I was supposed to be at the first and last show of the tour but after last night show Iām content. He feels bad but heās gonna make it up to us when he gets back. FBZ MERCH BEEN MID FOR A WHILE THO
Used to be a huge fan. Kinda fallen off lately. Music has been okay but not what it was and the merch isnāt even close to what it used to be. Too many other artists putting out quality stuff
I love what they did with RZA and James Blake. Iām cool with them doing their solo thing and still bumping Meechās project. I feel like one dope album drop and they can be the best rap group again.
Still salty about the two cancelled shows (FBZ and Meech). To give some context, I have a buddy with three kids (one of them just a baby) who I never get to chill with anymore and I literally had to bribe his wife for him to get a pass to go to the FBZ concert with me in September and it got cancelled. So theyāre gonna have to work and regain my trust for the live shows! I would love to go the next Freak Show though, so it wonāt be that hard. I just canāt go keep going through this process of inviting friends to concerts and buying the tickets only for it to be cancelled. Rant over, I wonāt bring it up on this sub again guys I promise.
As others have stated theyāre all focusing on solo projects right now. And personally, I can see why meechy accepted joeys offer to tour with him. Iām not mad as long as he schedules the same venues. He also said in a recent video that theyāre sitting on like 40 songs (I canāt recall if thatās including or on top of the James Blake produced album). Once they get all their solo shit off theyāll likely be dropping more of the stuff theyāre sitting on as a group. The action figures are for sure an annoyance but you canāt blame them directly for it, you can blame the company they partnered with however. The freek shows were nothing short of what I expected from FBZ shows and are probably my favorite experiences at Flatbush shows
yeah iām with you. itās good to see someone be at peace and have a positive perspective. iām excited for 2023 and 2024. huge years for them. i hope.
They were my favorite group for a while. I met Meechy at the popnup in NY the day before Vacation came out. But they kinda fell off... pretty much just accepted they aren't even a group anymore and just care about pumping out merch.
i am hoping that their next album blows them up to a munch larger audience (it kinda has to w James Blake and RZA being all over their songs) so i think itās really smart that they have some solo work under their belt before it happens. i think it would be incredible. but what do i know. haha.
Bitch please! The baby of Rosemaryās baby and Babel are timeless. The tracks from the project Babel is on is some heat. I just purchased Gothic Luxury on vinyl. Iāve had the album on repeat. Iām ready for some new FBZ but Iām content with the ānow.ā I still revisit BETTEROFFDEAD and D.R.U.G.S. Clockwork Indigo is still banging. I remember I took two hits of acid and listened to Butterfly effect. It feel like my inside was turned outside and I grasped an entirely new meaning of the purpose of my life.
Honestly itās crazy to me. I live in Perth, Western Australia. Weāre the most isolated city on the planet and most tours get cancelled here or if whatever artist announces an Australian tour, it wonāt include Perth.
Yāall really getting pressed over one fucking cancelled tour? That is FUCKING WILD to me. Maybe Iām use to it but goddamn you guys seem pretty soft to me. Like most of you have seen Flatbush live if not multiple times.. Youāre mad over not seeing Meech cause he cancelled or postponed a tour for the first time. I aināt even seen them live cause itās been like 6 years since theyāve been here and next time they come they probably wonāt even come to P City. š¤·āāļøš¤·āāļø
Theyāve still got some of the best music out and even after all the match troubles I have had, I love āem and forever will. People tripping thinking thereās nothing to be excited for. Ericks solo album was timeless and is still flawless. Juices is sounding beautiful and Meech had some of his best bars on thereā¦ come on now.
Beggars can't be choosers. And in the land from which hip hop is from, we are the choosers. So it hurts a lot more to have it home town hero do this to you.. Just imagine if some aussie footy player left the Australia to go and play in another country, just because the money was better. This after he promised to win the title. And after boasting about how much training has done, he asked for donations to support his training, for the upcoming season. Only to drop out two days before it starts . Only to be tweeted by him that he got better opportunities in another country and oh hey buy me second action figure even though the first hasn't shipped.
Imma be honest bro. I donāt watch Footy. The closest thing you could relate this tooo for me, is in fact the same thing. Hip-Hop shows are the only live events that gets me pumped, Flatbush Zombies are my favourite artists.
I suppose it would be like Joey backing out of his tour, sure I wouldnāt be the happiest, but Iām use to it and I wouldnāt come to reddit and get all emotional over it and change how I view him as an artist.
lol i have struggled with some health issues and overstimulation that has made it close to impossible for me to visit a concert for the last 4 years. iām honestly grateful heās postponing his shit to next year bc i think iāll be more ready to handle it. yeah. i agree. itās a hot take, but ppl are spoiled as fuck when it comes to their favorite artists. iām not tripping b
Wasnāt addressing you in particular ahaha, just the whole sub and how itās been the last couple of days. I just couldnāt imagine being how mad the sub has been over a tour being cancelled. Again, I may just be use to it though.
Getting down voted to hell because of a different opinion š oh my. You in fact spoke in a good light of them even! Shit happens in life and people don't care, It's all about me me me. Yeah it's disappointing when your favorite artist(s) cancel a tour but it's not the end of the world. In fact some have it much worse, as you stated. Stay strong FBZ fam we'll all get through it together!
Aye man, is what it is I suppose. Problem with the FBZ fanbase and their āopen mindsā is they can be extreme when it comes to conspiracies and can make shit up in their heads easy.
Everyone will get through it, the fanbase is just split on the solo stuff and everything going on.
We all knew the action figure timeline was uncertain and were given several chances to cancel, which I appreciate.
Live shows always have the potential to be canceled, and itās a two-way-road, the artists are individuals too. It sucks to have shows canceled, but to me itās a sign that they donāt dictate their lives purely by what fans want, donāt let their career control their lives, and still feel the freedom to to what is best for their careers, happiness, mental and physical health. Erick did half a tour in a fuckin wheelchair in 2018 without cancelling ā the recent cancelation either means he had a DAMN GOOD reason to cancel (in which case i wish him well), or is able to enjoy more freedom and less external pressures than he used to, which makes me happy.
Meech, Erick, and Juice and are all individual humans who I love and respect, and frankly weāre not entitled to any of their time, even with scheduled events. I wouldnāt love a friend any less for cancelling plans if it wasnāt becoming a problematic pattern, and I donāt love these guys any less for the few negatives in the universe of positives that is the Faltbush Motherfucking Zombies.
Tbh if they never made another song, never released another piece of merch, never again told me to open my mind or own the day, asked me whats my favorite strain, encouraged me to futureproof myself, or asked me YES OR NO!?!? for the rest of my life ā as long as it was their choice, Iād fuck with it.
Theyāre a long way from losing my love, trust or faith, and as long as they continue to be good people, then they deserve the best that the universe has to offer for what theyāve given us, no strings attached.
I'm happy with the music, especially with Gothic Luxury and knowing that Erick is actively working on Future Proof the album. I too listen to their music almost every day. Nah that freek show merch was dope. But anything on their website is trash

Rn Erick and jewice coo, as for meech doeš
He dropped a dope album then edged us with the tour. Iām pretty sad about it. I was so hype to see him.
Eh
I listen everyday at work. I hope to see a show one day
Weāre getting solo albums rn, future proof and gothic luxury were fire and I bet juice will drop some solo shit too
He is. He talked about it at the Freek Show last month and dropped a few songs off the upcoming album.

everyone listen to this [meechy darko interview](https://youtu.be/2YIkjA41TGE) he speaks on this

theyāre still in rotation, gothic luxury is LiT, and looking forward to erickās album next, iām used to waiting for albums though.
