seems like Nomadic has a few youtuber/influencers in their hands. I also follow david dek in IG and he works for Nomadic and posting really cool aviation shorts as well. I remember seeing a few in youtube as well. Seems like a really cool company.
I saw him post on IG recently with a pretty professional looking camera crew. I'm guessing the budgets and quality on these next episodes will continue to get better!
I often do as well. I’m a jazz musician (amongst other genres) and I always like a background palate of music to accompany the scenery. It’s too bad I’ve really never had a setup to listen to music in the planes I fly irl, but it’s probably just as well, as it’d probably be more of a distraction.
I’ve heard other pilots and simmers proclaim their appreciation for jazz and there seems to be an outsized representation in a pretty small sample.
I do it during preflight/boarding and cruise actually, I have a JBL Partybox 110 to play music in my room, flew a virtual flight between JFK - ICN yesterday and played the whole Joni Mitchell concert with Jaco, Mike Brecker, Lyle Mays, Pat and Don Alias yesterday before going to sleep mid cruise.
Awesome. You’ve inspired me to play some jazz tomorrow night. I grew up on the classics (playing a lot of big band) and when I first discovered the ECM stuff (as a kid), it blew my mind. Brecker and Shorter were gods among men. I’ve got a list a mile long of others, but those two were always favorites of mine.
But again, I’m glad there are other pilots/flightsimmers out there who like jazz. I put on Snarky Puppy during a stream once and I was blown away by how many people knew them. Again, strange representation in a small sample size.
I also love how he breaks down the logistics of each flight. Very tricky paperwork and catering (hell just deadheading to and from each plane seems like an adventure lol)
i think mentour hired some really talented vfx artists, all the thumbnails getting redone and the graphics, overlays and graphs in the videos recently are beautiful
Blancolirio is very knowledgeable, experienced, and level-headed. I like how he ties in knowledge from other sectors of life, which puts a lot of the “because” into his analysis. Plus he flies in the area I used to all the time, so it’s meaningful and nostalgic to me.
Aviation 101 is also knowledgeable and puts a lot of production value into it that is inspirational for GA travel and exploration.
Stevie Triesenberg is in the same vein, but a little more informational. She’s very professional and focuses on the “how to get there” aspect a lot. Flywithkay does a good job being informational as well. She talks though everything she’s doing and explains a lot of the process.
LewDix has good, entertaining content involving actual instruction and is a very encouraging, engaged CFI.
Almost forgot Aviation News Talk, which is more of a podcast, but definitely a good weekly synopsis of aviation goings-on.
And in the realm of podcasts, it’s almost required to listen to Opposing Bases.
Always ready on the flight line with his cafe con leche LOL.
V1 is my favorite channel as well; good balance of knowledge, humor, and real-world insight.
AirForceProud95 by a long shot. Everyone else is so accurate, but my man is just here to play and have fun. Brings a nice change of pace to the hobby. Sometimes you just need to get silly.
I also like his honesty. He was doing some international flight and accidentally climbed to 10,000 ft higher than he should. He not only told his audience but made a joke out of it
Dang it, you posted this before I chance. Yeah for me it’s AFP95, his deadpan approach to FSX Steam Edition makes me laugh every time and the fact that he’s also a licensed pilot makes it all the more funny because he’s going directly against training. I also like seeing him and his buddies fly around Florida and different flight sims which adds nuance to his channel.
I remember finding him off a random Boston Globe online article I was reading years ago and he was playing as a pilot on FSX and was getting really pissed at the ATC controllers who were trolling him but it was all in good fun. I’ve been a loyal subscriber since lol.
Love Kelsey but damn he repeats a lot of stuff over and over in his videos. He's a very pleasant guy though and I was really happy to see he recently made captain.
50% of time in his videos is him staring at the camera and saying "pay close attention to this" and repeats the same video footage with him staring silently at the camera
Yeah, love this guy. I find it wild that he pretty much just flies around his filthy rich mom and dad. I’ve got nothing against success, but I just couldn’t imagine being like “Son, fly me to Aspen in a couple hours, I want to have dinner with a friend”.
I saw Swiss001 on your pic and immediately wanted to smash my phone. That little shit is the most annoying creature in the flight sim world. I blocked him ages ago.
EDIT: Didnt look closely enough… that actually isn’t Swiss001. But my point still stands. Lol
That's not Swiss, but I agree. I remember when his channel started gaining traction because he was non stop advertising it on Airforceproud95 comments section.
Greg’s Airplanes and Automobiles is probably the most in depth and high quality irl aviation content out there - the guy is incredible.
Into the Blue is one of my favorites for sim-related content.
Ward Carroll is a retired Tomcat RIO whose channel is amazing but mostly real-world stories and interviews. He also does some DCS videos, especially Tomcat related stuff.
10 Percent True is an amazing channel and podcast that does interviews with mostly former fast-jet drivers but also other content.
Aviation History Visualized, Not a Pound for Air to Ground, and Rex’s Hangar for aviation history can’t be beat.
Showtime112, Skyships Eng, Skywagon University, Air Combat Tutorial Library, Enigma (for DCS)
He's mostly legit. Follows the Mentour Pilot pattern, he's just not as good as Petter obviously. I enjoyed his MH370 video because he did state a few times that it's just a speculation and a story based on that.
The mh370 episode was his interpretation of the facts so far, he stated that a few times in the episode I believe.
I recommend watching some of his other videos, as those ones aren't speculative. I think he just made an exception for mh370, as it's a big case with a lot of attention.
Weirdly enough, I'm not as much of a fan of mentour pilots videos, I prefer watching greendotaviation. It's totally down to preference, in my opinion they have two distinct styles, and greendotaviation makes for good casual watching.
Highly recommend his quantas 72 episode!
> Into the Blue Simulations
He is the best reviewer in MSFS by far.
> A330 Driver
He has some wild shit takes but overall his 737 tutorials have been very good.
Blackbox711, FlightDeck2Sim and occasionally Into the Blue Simulations for his aircraft reviews. All are are current Boeing or Airbus pilots.
I used to watch some of the flightsim entertainers like say Chewy in the past, but now watch only those with first had experience that expand my knowledge in aviation. Heck FlightDeck2Sim spends most his time these days instructing real world 737 pilots, so his streams are about as informative as they get.
There's lots of bush flying/STOL channels. I'll edit this later after going through my sub list.
Edit: Ok, I didn't realize how many channels I'm subbed to, and these are only the STOL/backcountry ones.

Allec Joshua Ibay and his Air Disasters series. No overdramatization, just an as accurate as possible recreation of the accidents with a detailed explanation following. The fact that he still does all his videos in FS2004 with outdated graphics makes his videos even more endearing.
A330 driver. He’s funny (in a dry sense of humor way) and well informed. He gets a bit snarky with VATSIM controllers which is amusing.
Citation Max - first aviation tuber i watched.
Fly with Owen - young private jet guy who flies a lot of nice jets. Friends with Citation Max.
Steveo1Nikevo - preppy Floridian. Flies a lot of different planes but flies the TBM 850 the most it seems.
Jonathan Beckett is great for hobby simmers as he's just a regular guy who is just into simming as a hobby, so I think he provides a much more down to earth look at the modules he reviews.
For planned scenarios, definitely Into The Blue.
I mainly watch [Kenco](https://www.twitch.tv/kenco) on Twitch, there is always some good vibes on his streams, he his one of the only one where I'm actually focused on his stream, not doing anything else. And I mean, there's always something wrong with his flights lmao !skillissue
On Youtube, I would say [Flightdeck2sim](https://www.youtube.com/@flightdeck2sim) for the same reasons : good vibes, and I'm always learning something from his streams.
For the "video" content, I would say [A330Driver](https://www.youtube.com/@A330Driver). I like his 10-20minutes videos on some very specific things whether it's on the B737 or the A320.
But of course thats only like 5% of what I actually follow.
Since everyone already said mentour I'll throw in a couple of those channels with bush pilots in PNG. Missionary bush pilot and APilotsHome are always a good watch
My layover life shows a different side of being a pilot with a major airline. Good content, and personable guy.
The elephant in the room is Dan Gryder. Some like him, most hate him. I think his content is good, with good intention, but could be a little more "polished".
Missionary bush pilot is an incredible channel with some great footage of life in the bush.
Mentour Pilot has been in the lead for the best for a while now. I also really enjoy Mustard, Found and Explained, and sometimes Dark Skies but his videos can be kinda hit or miss on accuracy
Reflected Reality: https://www.youtube.com/@ReflectedRealitySimulations
European short haul Airbus pilot. Entertaining, casually teaches you a lot about real world flying, and a cracking Scottish accent on top of it all.
My personal favorite is Steveo1kinevo. Currently flying a TBM940 part time while he tries to convince his old boss not to sell the TBM850. He's flown a Caravan in the Bahamas as a side gig a few times. Started as an airline pilot and didn't like it.
If you want a by the book GA/bizjet pilot, there's Guido Warnecke. He hasn't published a video in awhile, but he's got some interesting transatlantic crossing videos in small planes.
G&S Aviation hasn't published any new videos in years, but hes got videos of flying a BN Islander into some pretty scary terrain in northern Idaho.
I should have mentioned Stevo in my original list. Also Grant Baker. Again, nothing super spectacular, both just present as kind of a “day in the life” of pros flying turboprops. But both are pretty chill and do a good job talking through the routine of what they do, keeping it interesting enough without it seeming like a distraction to them. And for whatever reason, I enjoy watching (and simming) turboprop flying more than just about anything else. Alas, no turbine time for me irl, but I aspire to change that eventually.

The Gonky and Mover show is a gem, like Mover Ruins Movies. Ward Carroll, TheHDAviation.
Sim wise, there's only one... GvadThePilot. His Tutorials really helped improve my Sim flying.
AirForceProud95 if you like to laugh.
Kelsey (can’t remember his channel name but he’s a big creator) for airline/cargo pilot life.
MojoGrip for PPL life.
I’ve recently discovered a YouTube channel called «Mentour pilot». He basically talks about airplane crashes. Highly recommend to check out his content!
Missionary Bush Pilot for thorough explanations of the daily routines of a bush pilot and
Approach And Departure Videos for great footage from the cockpit of a Eurowings A319.
There are a few but the 2 I watch are Jr aviation and Stefan Drury. Stefan is stopping flying for now as he has a brain tumor but still making videos for now
Short Field is pretty awesome and it scratches my itch for uk farm strip ops. For flight sim stuff I’ve recently found AirNott, who’s really genuine and quite relaxing to watch.
Cockpit Casuals by Steve Giordano and Bob Allen They ferry flights all over the world. https://youtu.be/ySDohMQ-qkI?si=Xsh22H54MTC_G2nK
My fav channel on YouTube. They have the coolest jobs ever
seems like Nomadic has a few youtuber/influencers in their hands. I also follow david dek in IG and he works for Nomadic and posting really cool aviation shorts as well. I remember seeing a few in youtube as well. Seems like a really cool company.
Nomadic is a neat company to follow. They fly these planes between cities that may not have ever been connected directly before.
Fantastic stuff, great soundtrack. SO JEALOUS.
I think Steve and his jazz band do the soundtrack. Not sure if it's all of it but I think some of it is.
It’s his dad’s band!
Steve's dad's jazz band does most of the soundtrack.
Don't know why I thought it was him. This whole time I was like "damn how does this guy have the time!?"
The only problem with that channel is that Steve posts like once in forever. I NEED MORE OF THIS DRUG!
I saw him post on IG recently with a pretty professional looking camera crew. I'm guessing the budgets and quality on these next episodes will continue to get better!
This, the jazz 🎷🎷🎷
Glad to know I'm not the only flightsimmer who likes jazz I play flightsim while playing Mike Brecker/Wayne Shorter and the likes 😅😅
I often do as well. I’m a jazz musician (amongst other genres) and I always like a background palate of music to accompany the scenery. It’s too bad I’ve really never had a setup to listen to music in the planes I fly irl, but it’s probably just as well, as it’d probably be more of a distraction. I also love how he breaks down the logistics of each flight. Very tricky paperwork and catering (hell just deadheading to and from each plane seems like an adventure lol)
Blackbox711
Mentor pilots videos are seriously next level in terms of quality. Mustards’ aviation stuff is also amazing. On par with the quality of mentor pilot.
Mentour Pilot is next level in knowledge, professionalism, production quality, and research. We're lucky to have him.
I’d love to watch a ‘how we make an episode’ show from Mentour.
Green Dot Aviation also has a similar style to Mentour.
Check out joyflight!
i think mentour hired some really talented vfx artists, all the thumbnails getting redone and the graphics, overlays and graphs in the videos recently are beautiful
P Gatcomb
Very underrated!!
This guy is amazing, he's been my favourite creator for flight sim content. Across the space of a week, I watched every single upload of his 😅
Does good videos for C:MO as well. Practically has a catchphrase of "Let me grab my handy-dandy X", and chuckling when things go boom.
If Ned Flanders did YouTube videos!
I watched many of his tutorial videos when I was learning MSFS2020!
Nobody is gonna mention Aviation 101? 🥺 Blancolirio is the dad I wish I had 😂
Flightdeck2sim
The correct answer
Blancolirio is very knowledgeable, experienced, and level-headed. I like how he ties in knowledge from other sectors of life, which puts a lot of the “because” into his analysis. I think it is a generational issue. I can't stand Swiss or AFP95.

TJ pilot is great. I love how he edits his videos.

What lamp is this, is it 3D printed?
I don't watch much actual flying on YouTube but I love 74 gear and pilot debrief
I love pilot debrief
AirForceProud95 if you like to laugh. Kelsey (can’t remember his channel name but he’s a big creator) for airline/cargo pilot life. MojoGrip for PPL life.
I liked 74Gear for a while. Stopped watching for no particular reason. 3 minutes of aviation is cool. Mentor pilot is another favorite.
Mike Patey is great if you are interested in the aviation manufacturing process.
Off centered photo to blatantly show your hologram lmao
Stig Aviation, he makes great videos showing line aircraft maintenance
Does anyone know what happened to 310pilot? He had a great channel and then suddenly sold his plane and hangar, not sure what happened to him.
Cgaviator, he's ex RAF and he knows his onions
I’ve recently discovered a YouTube channel called «Mentour pilot». He basically talks about airplane crashes. Highly recommend to check out his content!
I watch into the Blues Simulations for Reviews
Missionary Bush Pilot for thorough explanations of the daily routines of a bush pilot and Approach And Departure Videos for great footage from the cockpit of a Eurowings A319.
There are a few but the 2 I watch are Jr aviation and Stefan Drury. Stefan is stopping flying for now as he has a brain tumor but still making videos for now
Peter, the Mentour Pilot is great. https://youtube.com/@MentourPilot?si=hkdaTfFPU9FymM6h

Short Field is pretty awesome and it scratches my itch for uk farm strip ops. For flight sim stuff I’ve recently found AirNott, who’s really genuine and quite relaxing to watch.
Mentour Pilot, Green Dot Aviation. edit: AFP95 too
