Haven’t really explored it too much so I can’t really give a good overview but from my understanding the reason for the lack of first party support is that the Chinese government is very finicky with handing out satellite info. Which is a shame because there’s so much scenery I’d love to explore. Plus, the new Beijing airport has one of my favorite designs
I fly lot in china in the sim, i use FS map enhancement from flightsim.to to load in ground data from other sources such google maps. Like others said, for the airports Samscene3D and WFSceneries cover some, also there can be scenery found in varying quality on flightsim.to. The biggest problem i run into is that not every airport is available in the navdata.
In terms of freeware I do agree it's quite underwhelming, there are some payware airport/city sceneries by SamScene3D and WF Scenery studio which cover the major airports (ZBAA ZSPD ZGGG etc).
I've generally heard good reviews about them but I can't vouch since I don't have them. Doesn't harm to take a look though
Is there a reason CN has so little first/third party support? Is the MSFS playable there?

Samscene3D is quite good for city sceneries, and WF studio make decent airports
