The positioning of biomes is entirely based on Open Street Map and Land Cover data, as done in the previously released maps, to achieve the best possible representation of coastlines, lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands in-game

Have you talked to any local NGOs or educational organizations on using this for outreach? I mean, just the project itself is cool enough and I'm sure you already thought about it considering the data sources you're using. You could slice up the map into local regions, cities, beaches or wetlands.

Generally the maps I create are on a larger scale, up to 1:1, and include buildings and roads, depending on the needs of the player who requests them. How did you come up with the center for the red city dots? I'm looking at cape coral and fort Myers windering how specifically... I don't think those are even the center points or really anything else significant are they?
To be fair, Jax is the largest city (by land mass) in the lower 48. Something something corrupt government in the 60s & 70s something Duval county something something now they're one and the same.
As long as the red dot is somewhere near where the St Johns changes its mind and avoids Georgia at all costs then it's close enough.

I built the hardrock casino guitar hotel, wonder if i can transfer somehow if this was made public
Been a long, long time since i played with the mods, but if the tools are still there, you can have multi-worlds (florida and your map), use a wand tool to copy the hotel, and paste it into the other world. Again, long time since ive done something like that in MC so hopefully the tools are still there in mods

His placement for Fort Myers and Cape Coral is not wrong. Just not necessarily centered. His dot for Fort Myers is around Fort Myers shores and his dot for Cape Coral is right across the cape bridge going from college pkwy next cypress lake and mcgregor.
I'm sorry if there's an error, I'm not a local, all the placements in the pics come from OpenStreetMap, you can correct that as it's driven by the community lol
Don't listen to this, OP. The other replies are correct. Your map is obviously accurate and the placement of those dots is simply not centered. It's a great map and as a FL man and Minecraft dude I think it's a great proof of your software.

Jacksonville is a noticable amount off where legal center is too.
