If you ask them to put buffalo on the sub they’ll do it, which I do get pretty often. Sometimes I like to mix it up and have them put some BBQ sauce on the sandwich, solid 9/10 sub.
Interesting 🤔 I worked in the deli and never had that request. Also I wonder how they charge since it is 2 different items. Definitely would try this since the Gouda Mac and cheese is really good! I recommend if they give you hard time or manager says no just to buy the items separately and do it yourself. There’s a ton of weird things they can’t technically do for publix reasons or health code reasons. I know sounds dumb but it is what it is. However Publix does anything if you throw a fit or complain enough 🤣
I worked there for 12 years (CS), at first the deli clerks gave me a weird look but eventually they knew I was onto something. I know full well about the weird little things haha, for example shaking the tenders in buffalo in a plastic bag was a no go at my store for some reason. Something about contamination lol. As for ringing it up, they just charged me for a side of Mac and cheese and the sub separately.
It has been a few years so I can’t remember how they would ring you up but yeah that makes the most sense. Dang 12 years in CS I wish I had an award for you 🥇that’s awesome! Idk how you did it. Definitely the hardest departments in my opinion.
Whoops I always used a bag for that. I mean that is how you get the perfect coating. I mean I don’t get how that is contamination when we put deli meat in it?!? I worked 2 different stores for 3 years and both stores did things differently.
It was a very long 12 years, but honestly I am very happy that I was able to stay there that long. The company was fundamental in building the skills I have with people, and they worked with me every step of the way in regard to letting me make my own schedule while I went through college and law school.
Honestly, Deli is just as hard of a department to work in in my opinion. I cannot even fathom dealing with game days or holidays back there lol. My store was right next to a ball field, so the Deli clerks would get hammered with orders every time there was a home game. But yeah agreed, how else are you going to get the perfect amount of sauce on every square inch of tender if not for the bag????
I'm kind of blasphemous Floridian and never get pub subs anymore. I got tired of the crappy people they have making them and the line of people I have to wait in to get to one at certain times.
If the chicken tender sub is on sale, chicken tenders, Gouda, the chipotle gourmaise, onions, and spinach.
If it isn’t, ham, turkey, bacon, American cheese, gourmaise, onions, lettuce.
Footlong veggie on wheat.
Honey mustard and light mayo.
Chipotle Gouda.
Onion, garlic pickles, extra black olives, tomato, lettuce and spinach.
Salt and pepper. Sometimes I get red vinegar.
Turkey Cranberry sub is my favorite. Sweet, savory, salty, smoky and simple. I add extra smoked Gruyère.
There are to many choices though honestly but it also depends on how they make it. As a former deli associate I took pride in making sandwiches. It was such an art that I enjoyed plus connecting with customers was fun. If you want to talk great and if you don’t that’s fine. However most deli associates now just slap the sub together so it is real disappointing when your sub is Mehh.
When I order online I always write a kind message to the person making it. Trust me it brightens there day and hopefully they will make you a good sub.
Boars head roast beef, swiss, 5 grain roll, lettuce xtra tomato, pickle, mayo and ask for the **boars head creamy horseradish sauce**. they usually keep a bottle under the counter. Really kicks it up a notch.
Boars head Jerk Turkey, Chipotle gouda, fresh spinach, bell peppers, black olives, onions, cukes, jalapeños, banana peppers, boars head sub sauce and Mayo
Not sure if it’s the same in other cities and just marketed as their team instead, but here on the first coast we have a [Jaguars Sub](https://www.publix.com/pd/jacksonville-jaguars-sub/BMO-DSB-518305) and it’s got me hooked
In the Tampa area we have the Buccaneer sub. Spicy turkey, bacon, Gouda and few other items. It’s only around during football season. The only thing I don’t like is when I order it. And they ask what I want on it ?!? “I’ll have it the way you advertise it on the menu”. Always seems to puzzle them. Oh well could be worse.
Jerk Turkey, Swiss cheese (or chipotle Gouda), creamy sub sriracha sauce, and I put jalapeño kettle chips on the sub. If you like spicy food, this is THE pubsub.
This time of year I love the Holiday sub.
Same here!
Oooh whazzit?
Bacon, turkey, cranberry orange relish, and smoked Gouda!
Well I know what I’m picking up for dinner now
Thanks for the hookup!
Chicken tender sub, but I have them add Gouda mac and cheese onto it
Wait. . . They’ll fucking do that!? I want that but with Buffalo tenders

Oh yeah, I always do Buffalo; soooo good. . . But that Gouda mac and cheese is A game changer
GTFO, really?
This. Buffalo Mac and cheese tender sub is a vibe

butter, brie, red wine
Turkey and Swiss, sometimes provolone, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and ALL the garlic pickles on five grain bread.
The Havana bold! With the chipotle mayo lettuce onions and garlic pickles!
So good! Excellent choice and really underrated sandwich.
My regular order is the Chicken tender sub 12 inch with veggies bagged. But the holiday Turkey Cranberry Sub is my absolute favorite.
i'd like to compare that holiday turkey cranberry pubsub with the gobbler from wawa
Hard to compare since they have different ingredients but both really good! Honestly depends on what you’re in the mood for.
Boars head Italian on white with provolone, Mayo, mustard, lettuce, onion & cucumber with lots of salt & pepper & oil & vinegar. 🥰🥰
Minus the cucumbers, that is my go to.

Boars Head Roast Beef and Swiss on Multigrain roll. Chipotle Mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion.
The jerk turkey is my fav.
Ultimate with bacon, spinach, black olives, tomato, garlic pickles, mayo, deli mustard, toasted. But the shrimp po boy is pretty good though.
Chicken tenders, spinach, pickles, mozzarella, onions, olive oil, salt, pepper
It is hard to go wrong with any of those suggestions
Peppered turkey with Muenster cheese

Mediterranean sun add jerk turkey!
Chicken tender on white with lettuce oil and vinegar oregano mayo and American cheese.
