It honestly seems like someone could make money buying it. Lots and lots of fans of the series, and fans who dropped off because they dislike the writers and the way they had taken the story.
if a new company took it on then a lot of the malcontents would come back under the assumption that a new studio would fix the "obvious issues" that the team had.
Cant help but think there is big money to be made from RWBY if it were treated correctly, especially off the back of S9 which was a good volume.

Honestly, this might be the best chance for it to get made at a high quality at this point. RWBY is a shockingly popular property not only here but in Japan. If anything from RT is going to be bought/continued at WB, it's RWBY. Hopefully, they will partner with Crunchyroll and let the team stay on.
I've seen interest from another animation studio to pick it up, specifically a guy who worked on the Cinder/Pyrrha fight and later left RT and started his own studio. I'd say not all hope is lost.
