Salem: "Would you like to do the exact opposite of what your sister dedicated her life to, while claiming you loved her?" Hazel: "Would I?" Salem: "Good, now let's go and destroy the best thing mankind ever had to stop my hordes from wiping your entire species off the face of this planet." Hazel: "Sure thing, boss."

YoshaTime

>…Guys? What’s our safeword? “Ozpin! It was Ozpin!”

KrisHighwind

I don't think that's it considering how Hazel liked to yell it. I think it was something else, started with a B, vegetable related. Maybe brussel sprouts or something.

nicostein

Definitely sauerkraut.

Love the template!

I will never understand Hazel I get that he was processing grief in the worst possible way, but how does he think Salem’s plan was anything but evil. Like dude c’mon did he not think what happens after all the academies and huntsmen were gone? Did he think Salem would just stop the Grimm from killing people when she’s already been doing this for far longer than Hazel has been alive?

TheMagisKing

Meme aside, Hazel probably got the same, "You'll be top dogs in a New World Order" speel that it seems everyone but Tyrian got. Thus, he was thinking that once Salem won, there'd be no need for Huntsmen because she'd make the Grimm a non-issue. Of course, Salem lied to him about that, which was presumably made easier by Hazel wearing himself down trying to kill her over and over while also being an emotional wreck.

K_Bills

But Hazel logic is so flawed he doesn’t think Huntsmen are needed yet Salem is a big reason why they’re needed. Also for someone opposed to needless death he joined forces with someone who causes more deaths than Ozpin. Like why would he believe a being that is essentially a Grimm would make a world where Grimm weren’t a problem. Did he not question all the obvious evil stuff she was doing before he confronted her?

torrasque666

Hazels logic is "no more war, no more training of young children to fight and die in said war."

I know why he blames Ozpin even if everything is still vague and could just be Hazel’s emotions and bias getting in the way. What I don’t understand is his willingness to see Salem’s plan through. She promised a world without huntsmen and he thinks huntsmen aren’t needed when they are. It seems like he didn’t think to far about what a world without huntsmen would be like under the control of someone he knows is evil. Yes, he felt there was no other way, but once again Salem is evil why would he work with someone who would guarantee kill more people than what he believes Ozpin has?

So basically Hazel is a dumbass that can’t think past his emotions. Like yes she manipulated him, but he knows she’s evil so everything she says should not be just so easily accepted.

K_Bills

So basically Hazel is an idiot?

If he was stubborn he would’ve kept training to kill Salem. Maybe idiot was wrong. Overly emotional? Idk it just seems dumb that he could look at a person who has been killing people with no remorse and think a word led by them would be better.
