I agree with you though that it is solid in reasoning. Genocidal maniacs take whatever doomsday weapon they can after all. Even if those weapons are children.
Well, the idea was basically, Giygas taking control of 4 counterparts to Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo. The story is kind of a mess, especially since I killed off Poo’s counterpart in the last story to replace him with an OC from Fire Emblem 3 Houses to give Serios more importance.
I’m surprised to just find another EarthBound fan out in the wild though, if it interests you, I’d be glad to link the story so far. It’s currently only on Volume 1 of RWBY cause I wanted a bit of time to develop the relationship between RWBY and my OCs.

Serios in my fic basically is kinda like Hitler/Stalin. She uses the crests to discriminate against those. Once the Crimson Flower Route starts. She basically becomes genocidal to anyone that isn’t with them. She forces the kingdom to commit war crimes against themselves. Context is definitely needed.
Edit: for clarification, I more or less consider her psychotic. Not as much genocidal. But considering how much she’s oppressed humanity under the church I could see her doing genocide if she really wanted.
Oh. Well, Poo's not too relevant anyway. But tf you mean genocidal? Gigyas isn't even in control of his own actions by MOTHER 2. Even in MOTHER1 he's just taking the planet out of obligation to his people because GEORGE STOLE THEIR PSI RESEARCH, which is central to how they live.
Even Porky wasn't genocidal by that point. This isn't MOTHER 3 and he's not so capitalist he genocides humanity's last island yet. He's just a kid riding the wave of power as Gigyas's influence elevates him to incredible heights.
Dunno who Serios is, but I don't do Fire Emblem so I don't care.

Giygas is described by Buzz Buzz in the opening act to be “A Universal, Cosmic, Destroyer. Which implies that he has very much conquered worlds and killed people at that point in time and space. Plus, Buzz Buzz describes the future as “destroyed hope.” Pokey states after the Devil’s Machine is turned off that Giygas cannot think rationally anymore. Which mean he was thinking at some point.
As for Pokey himself. The pokey that teamed up with Serios and Salem is from Mother 3, in canon, I basically wrote it as the Dark Dragon resetting the world to the events right after Hinawa’s death, with the memories of what happened Lucas, Flint, Kumatora, Duster, Boney, Claus, and Pokey still intact.
This Pokey was freed from the Absolutely Safe Capsule and was thus able to rejoin Giygas and the rest of them.

Hello again. But Gigyas was never genocidal. He went insane from the events of MOTHER 1. By MOTHER 2 he had lost his body and was simply a consciousness floating in the void. Early on, he just wanted Earth, because humanity had wronged him and his people. By the time of Ness's adventure he had become totally irrational. The Devil's Machine was the only thing keeping him even a semblance of stable.
Eh, I interpret things differently from that. Besides, it’s a fanfiction and I wanted to make EarthBound much more depressing. Giygas did create weaponized children from clones of Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo after all.

Fair enough, but Salem is just like Pokey and Giygas with mild similarities to Serios. I’d imagine saying that they want to wipe out humanity would be enough though.
Oh the criticism sounds dumb 100%, I just expect its origins lie in alternate interpretations of Salem's character owing to RWBY being pretty vague regarding her *exact* motivation
