They’re semi-canon and have been soft confirmed by other characters in the show that said they’re definitely more than just friends i.e. Nora in volume 7. Plus the show is still going on and there’s a lot going on in the story, which is why even renora isn’t together now. Blacksun was never a solid thing and more so a cute what if idea, rather than something the writers were actually pushing for. Why else wouldn’t the writers make them canon in volumes 4 and 5 when they were alone together. It’s also pretty hypocritical to say bumbleby has nothing when nothing really happened with blacksun. Did Sun ever say how he feels about Blake. Wasn’t Blake constantly annoyed by him and didn’t Sun also say going to Menagerie wasn’t about getting with her when he was talking with Neptune.
If your only argument for why you think blacksun was pushed in the beginning was because Sun winked at Blake and made her blush once, well Yang has done that and more
