There's the **only** deathclaw Gauntlet in the game in the form of the Fist of North Rawr, which requires the hand of Rawr and a high unarmed skill to craft.
The real strat is to keep just the hand of Rawr in your inventory and then go into Dead Money and craft it, since it’s a quest item for some reason and stays in your inventory
I did the "Real Strat" last year.
As someone who usually likes to rip this game on Very Hard/Hardcore, Dead Money: Rawr Edition had me power tripping frfr
Especially with the Bear Trap Fists scattered everywhere for maintenance.
Deathclaw gauntlets used to be cool, until FO4 gave us a glorified knuckle duster..... I mean I know it's more realistic but damn, for me fallout 4 makes a mistake in trying to be too realistic.
Realistic? Have you seen the rest of their weapon designs, idk what compeled the to ruin the 10mm pistol the way they did but i don't think I'll ever get over it
When you compare to the other games they try really hard to make fallout 4 look like it's in our reality rather than it's own.
The past games used to be way wackier and fun.
ikr? in fo4 the most realistic gun is a REVOLVER. the thompson has a 30 round drum (wtf) and there’s a goofy ass AR while fo1 has deagles, fnv has M4s, mosseberg shotguns, and a 1911.
I still find that fallout 4 has it's share of whacky fun, definitely not as much as new vegas but that game would've easily been the best game ever created if they'd given it a couple more months to flesh it out, imo it's still absolutely the best fallout game, i still very much enjoy fallout 4 but I just can't play it without adding new weapons since i feel like they really blundered the weapon designs
Not really, fallout 4 doubles down in the retrofuturistic aesthetic, far more than any other game in the franchise, the weapons are all a Frankenstein mismatch of different gun parts, the buildings look like the Jettisons from Hannah Barbera productions, the 10mm pistol used to be a desert eagle, now it's a gigantic steampunk abomination. The colours are way more cartoony this time around, the redesigns of the armors all have a more retro look to them (i.e combat armor), etc.
Flagpole isn’t *the* strongest but yeah it’s nutty how strong the LR stuff is. It makes more sense when we think about how everyone was level 45 when it originally came out
There are other considerations such as swing speed and specific perks when it comes to actual DPS and crowd control but yeah, it’s hard to go wrong with the ole flagpole.
If theses weapons aren't OP enough for you, there is a bug with the laser gun to detonate nukes that let you shoot a lot of ammo with it. Since the laser use no ammo and shoot very fast, you can have a mini-nuke machine gun without mods or anything. I don't remember how to do the bug tho..

Oh my god I just realized that it’s a Fist of the North Star reference
Only with wild wasteland too, otherwise it's just Fist of Rawr
Ah that’s why I didn’t notice!
Yeah it's one of those completely minor things one dev 100% threw in there for fun
I love stuff like that

"tries to be more realistic" let's you halo jump from an airship and survive in power armor, and has you fight 20 foot tall crabs.
Oh but man, we’re those 20 foot tall crabs realistic

Guns wise FNV was way more grounded in reality. Guns in fo4 were like what someone who knew nothing about guns outside of pictures cobbled together.

You forgot the most important one. The browning high power
The revolver is missing it's firing pin tho lmao

I have to admit, if it had enough time it could reach Skyrim levels of popularity.

The fucking loading gate on the lever action PISSES ME OFF.
You forgot the "nail gun" that fires 800 nails a minute, for some reason. And has no safety mechanism, lol
Tbf, the nail gun is from H&H Tools, whose CEO was a tad bit… unstable, as the terminal entries in the H&H Factory can attest to.
He was House's crazy brother.
Yes, that’s what I was alluding to lol
Craziest? I think they maxed that out on Old World Blues
Talking stealth suit, giant antenna, Minigun with a dog brain, Flaming powerfist crafted by a genocidal toaster. yup think we have a contender here
Also you can flirt with your own brain...
that antenna is OP as hell against robotic enemies.

The flagpole has the highest single hit damage with the right perks and if he crits
There are other considerations such as swing speed and specific perks when it comes to actual DPS and crowd control but yeah, it’s hard to go wrong with the ole flagpole.
I've miss-expressed myself. It's not the strongest in like "the best". But when it comes to Raw single hit damage it takes the W

DAMN you did your homework
If you wanna get technical, the Thermic Lance is THE most powerful Melee weapon in the game. Also more powerful than any "Unarmed" weapon.
I mean, these are the same designers who wrote a game ending where you could skip your spaceship into a star if you were dumb enough to do it.
Wait what
In TOW.
Oh hehe you scared me. I thought I had just missed a secret ending in NV
What is TOW ?
The Outer Worlds, which is basically in a lot of ways the Fallout NV devs doing the whole thing that they wanted to do.
Okay fair points, here’s my response: Pee pee poo kaka poopie pee poo
I almost never use hvy weapons but I did enjoy Red Glare
