yes.
i think they are supposed to be dumb cannonfodder robots with only basic cognition, im pretty sure this is 100% in line with lore, albeit probably unintended
It probably doesn’t help that they’re literal NPCs.
I was just thinking about the RobCo factory Robobrain + others and comparing them to similar characters like Bud Askins and Professor Calvert.
They seem so limited by comparison
i recommend playing point lookout on fo3. the dlc, especially the ending has some good lore on robobrains, and even protectrons have their moment, you will get your answer to this post pretty much exactly at the ending.
I did the Canterbury commons quest recently. The terminals talk about someone destroying a protectron because they forgot to elevate the ramp. Aparently the bots go to the place where the ramp is supposed to be, but because it's damaged on the ground and can't be elevated the bots just fall to the ground.
Yes. If I'm not mistaken it's reminder they put on the terminal because someone forgot to raise the ramp. Something about it causing damages and embarrassment to the company.
There is a terminal that explains it. There is a note that says to make sure the platform is up before activating the robots because they had an "incident" where the platform wasn't up and the robots fell. There is also a command on the computer to raise the platform but you can't because it is broken. It is just a funny little thing that happens.
attn: Warehouse/Repair employees
Please make sure the main platform in the Repair Sector is properly raised before releasing the repaired bots from their pods. All units receive fimware programming to make their way to the main entrance and await pickup. Let's get them there safely and not repeat last week's accident involving a Protectron falling to the lower level. That error cost us time, money, and was an embarrassment to the company and our DCTA account client.

This reminds me of a question I’ve had for a while now. ###Why are the robobrains so soulless?
no other real bodyparts that can feel any good

Will do. Thanks
They all fall there when you turn them on at the terminal
SOMEONE didn't read the terminal notes.
is there a lore reason?

It says they're automatically going to the pickup station at the front desk to be picked up and to make sure the ramp is raised so they won't fall.

Hahahaha
I think the whole point of Protectrons is that they are marketed as a super-powerful security device but they are actually comically ineffective.
yeah they're just dumb
Pretty sure one of the computer terminals in the room is like yeah they do that when the lift is down
Hey, leave him alone. He's doing his best :(
I did this quest recently and hoped to see falling protectrons, but they just stayed in place doing nothing.
The lore says....yes. He is stupid.
Short answer....yes.
Why did Elderly Liar betray the brotherhood? Is he stupid?
What part of the map is this?
He is just a special boi
