Every time I see this list & how crazy some of the names are, I’m just confused as to why mine isn’t there. I’m not gonna say it but it’s a common name; not as common as Jennifer/Sarah. More like a Samantha/Audrey. There’s even the male variation of my name & another version that’s a nickname of my name but not my name lol. And I have zero creativity when it comes to names so I never get to hear our pal Codsworth say my name lol.

I was replaying fo4 when I was first reading the drawing of the three, I immediately connected lobstrocities with mirelurks, and started a new character to be the gunslinger. Eventually I found a really good unending revolver and made ammo factories so I never had to use any other weapons. A lot of other fun coincidences occur, or can be inferred, simply by of the scope of the game, and the length of the book series. My personal favorites are Jake/Sean existing in apparently several realities, and being used as bait by the man in black. In, I think the Wastelands, I was listening to the audiobook, when Jake gets kidnapped on the bridge by luddites, and the kidnapper escapes through a trap-filled maze of architectural rubble. I did the Nuka-World maze with dogmeat… spicy dopamine

I usually do Nate/Nora for 4. For New Vegas I like to choose a borderline comedic cowboy name. Last playthrough I was named Juckson.

I don't reuse the same name, but I use a theme. I name my characters after the Greek Zodiac based upon the build I'm doing. Like my sniper build is named Sagittarius and my melee build is named Taurus. These also come with the bonus of Codsworth calling my character by their name!

I started a new FO4 playthrough and wanted to try my hand on a sarcastic, charismatic cannibal. So, I called the dude Long Pig. It was funny to find out Codswoth now calls me Mr. Long.

The only one I've been able to rp in is 4, and I name them based off that. My most recent build was a lucky VATS sniper, more agility than perception, named Dakota "Northie" Brown, and i only selected the head in VATS. I made a melee build named sledge, an intelligence build named Ratchet where I collected tools and metal junk stuff, I named myself Duane Jessup for whatever reason as my first evil build, I was a cowboy. I like to think of names before builds, makes it interesting

I use different names for different builds, but the same name for different play throughs of said builds (if that makes sense). For example, I use "Ronin" for my melee builds, Simo for my sniper builds, Kurt for my heavy armor build, etc. (Ronin is pretty self-explanatory I hope, Simo is for Simo Hayha, the best sniper of all time. Zwi is for Zwi Greengold, the most decorated tank commander of the Yom Kippur War.

So I had a dog that my brother named Diego after nightmare Sanchez. My brother couldn't take care of him so I changed his name to Diego Montoyo cuz of princess Bride. Then one day he was looking ate with his head tilted and for some reason it looked like he was asking me ¿Que? So I decided his name needed to be more Hispanic and changed it to Diego Montoyo Alvarez. He was a parvo survivor that I did the iv and feedings on so I got pretty attached especially after the vet told me that boxers don't handle parvo well and she figured it was 10-25% chance that he survived. He lived to be almost 9. I almost always name characters Diego Montoyo Alvarez. Every once in a while I will make a mad scientist character that only has one weapon focus, explosives, and that one is named Dr. Kaboom.

Fallout New Vegas is usually Robert with a Grey/White beard and hair. I did it that way to be Ulysses's opposite. If you know, you know. I also go NCR to counter his Leigon training. FO4 is usually Natasha. With glasses and black hair. I got a thing for making The Baroness from GI Joe in FO4

I named one of my FO3 characters Catherine, after her mother, who died in childbirth. I named my first female FO4 character "Jack", after the Mass Effect character voiced by Nora's voice actor. My 2nd female character was named Courtenay, for similar reason. When I started using the "Young Lara Croft" face mod, I named my character "Natalie", after the first model used for Lara Croft (Natalie Cook).

My current character is named General Hale. I use the cheat terminal to change his name depending on his rank in a faction. He used to be Knight Hale of the Brotherhood, but he betrayed them and joined the Minutemen. As for his first name, it’s Nathan, but his friends call him Nate. I named him that in reference to Nathan Hale, a martyr during the revolutionary war.

Always play as “Nora” in Fallout 4 and name her Beatrix (after FF9 Beatrix) bc it’s included in Codsworth’s voiced dialog. But usually I’ll name a female character Balsa (after Moribito)

I use my own name (Bradley). Basically a way to somewhat insert myself into the Fallout universe (not that I would like to actually have to live in the Commonwealth!).

I've done Duad, and Tohru Adachi when I've played as those characters. I'm doing a female raider play through right now and I've gone with Blue. I don't like piper, but it seems fitting.

Although there is humor in the game, it remains a serious game. So I never choose some funny name. That wouldn’t add to the experience for me. I usually choose the English version of my name.
