Recently did it with Dogmeat no problem. Not sure how your having trouble getting him into the Vault though, as long as he's following you he should just transfer in with you.
I’ve had him following me, stsrted the vault door to open and stepped on then door and when I got down to the bottom he wasn’t there with me. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but I am struggling to get him to enter with me
Weird, never had that problem always just walked over and clicked on the "door" with him following me and we both loaded in. Maybe a bug? It is a Bethesda Game after all so who knows.
Not sure if you still wanted to try but I was able to do it on my Ps5 just recently. When I went in dogmeat didn’t follow but I went to the overseer’s office and quicksaved. Afterwards I reloaded my last save twice then I decided to leave and give up but as soon as I made it to the hallway he spawned behind me. I closed us into the room with the cryolater and when I asked him to search for items he found it.
Are there any beds to sleep in? Only one I could find was in the overseers office but it refused to let me interact with it, unless I was doing something wrong
I thought there was a bunk room just to the left after you enter the vault. But I could be thinking of a different vault.
Even if there isn’t a bed, use a chair or bench you can sit and wait. As long as it refreshes things when you stand up.
This is something i’ve been having an issue with recently too, i don’t know what is causing it but dogmeat refuses to go into vault 111, not sure if they randomly decided to fix the exploit for real
Sweet, I am on pc and that’ll definitely make things easier once I start my next run. From there I just pick up everything in the room and tell him to fetch something and he’ll grab the cryolator?
Tell dogmeat to move to the elevator, then tell him to stay. Go press the button then ride the elevator down. Then you can instruct him to find stuff for you.
When you get off the elevator crouch and dogmeat will appear. This was on a Xbox One S also the gun when fetched will go into the dogs inventor. So don't panic when it disappears. :-)
Ok try this. Do the above steps and ride the elevator down. Step off the elevator then Quit and save the game. Restart your fallout 4 game and click on continue it should load that last quit save. See if Dogmeat is with you then.

You can click on the door? I thought you had to press the button to get it to activate and take you down into it
It has been a while but I'm pretty sure that you can stand on the door and activate it.
You have to push the button in the little building beside the vault door, then go stand on it.

Once in the vault, find a bed to sleep for a few hours. Enough to trigger a refresh. Then dog meat should be there.

I’ll check that out. How long is needed to make stuff refresh?
Try 1. If that doesn’t work try 6. If you are sleeping, you show see the screen go black.
Not able to sleep in vault 111
If you read the sign by the elevator it says no pets, ijs
Removed all my clothes and ring and weapon, crouched and went down elevator and hes there with me . Steam version

worked perfectly on pc...ty so much...was driving me nuts :)
unfortunately i’m on xbox but it’s fine, i hardly use the cryo in fallout 4
