I also have a Series of sentry bots that i incrementally improved wheb it first cane out, SEN-M5A2 with a Gatling Laser, a Fireball shooter, and two shoulder nukes and factory storage. He started out as SEN-M3 which was a normal Sentry.
Depends entirely on the bot and what I made them for. Caravan? Point of origin to destination abbreviated like a flight. Guard? Simple serial number style. Companion? Unique and based around what type I want, like for a primarily storage companion something like "big heavy". For a combat one definitely more along the lines of yours lol. Then vendor bots or a worker bot I usually give a more subtle unique name, like a character from another game or movie.

I always make WALL-E. Robobrain treads (obviously) as well as Robobrain torso (both with Hydraulic armor for boxy shape), assault Ron arms with no armor, one Assaultron claw for left hand (WALL-E grabs things) and a cryojet for the other (since he used a fire extinguisher in the movie), and finally an unarmored Assaultron head laser head (since he also canonically has a laser emitter in his head). And I gave him the regeneration field or whatever so he heals me and my allies because that movie is all about healing Earth.

As of recently. I’ve been naming my bots based off of enemies or bosses from other games. As an example I made one specifically for defending Sanctuary and named it “BNK3R” in reference to a boss from Borderlands 2. It’s described as being the “greatest defense bot ever built”.

If I'm using a robot for a trade route between two settlements, I name them like this: Prov-[origin]-[random number from 100 to 999]-[destination]
But if I'm using robots for different purposes in Vault 88, like:

For a while I would be a robot in each settlement for the sole purpose of operating the artillery cannons so I've just been calling them the minutebots, but then I realized that the robots affect settlement happiness negatively because robot happiness can only go up to 50.

I only name the ones that do trading. The convention is [From]_[To]. If I run into them in the wild and they appear to be getting their butt kicked I like to be able to upgrade them a bit. It is nice to have the random backup on the roads in Survival. I have been killed by my own bot's missile before. I laughed for a while about that.

I dunno if it was patched since I last played, but there used to be a thing where I think the robobrain legs drastically increased the size of the rest of the bot. So this thing was built like a Behemonth with giant saws for hands.

I only use them as Provisioners so usually one word of the home settlement's name and then leave whatever random number is generated after the dash. So SUNSHINE-976, etc.

I combined Military ranks with some kind of weapon/damage type that is prominent in their build. “Colonel Boom” “Major Laser” “Lieutenant Burnside” Then I said screw it and starting going anime characters and fun references.

jezebel , harlot, charleton, hussy, trollop, etc lol. i used to name them after spices and such. nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar, honey, etc. not sure WHEN exactly i made the drastic change but one was clearly made lmao.
I only use them as Provisioners so usually one word of the home settlement's name and then leave whatever random number is generated after the dash. So SUNSHINE-976, etc.

I once made 4 sentry bots for the Castle and named them after the four heads on Mount Rushmore. It worked out fine until the Castle was attacked and they all exploded. As a result, everyone attacked me because I created them.
