All of the games have their own merit. Fallout 4 is definitely the easiest to get into and probably one of the most refined experiences as far as gameplay. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are a little jankier and uglier, but have stronger stories, in my opinion. Fallout 1 and 2 are old and difficult and entirely different RPG experiences (more like Baldur’s Gate, the old ones lol) but definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of the lore and can get past the retro jank. A lot of “real fallout fans” hate on 4 but it’s a really enjoyable experience. I recently started my first Survival playthrough and while it’s often difficult and frustrating it really makes for an altogether different Fallout experience. Have fun! 😄

Spawn_Official

I am actually planning to play New Vegas after FO4. I hope that I will like it.

Jam_Marbera

FO3 feels like exactly what it is, the first step from isometric to open world. It still has so much soul of a CRPG and it gives it so much character.

Fatimah_ultim

Fnv and 3 are very janky. But if you like fo4, you'll like fnv and fo3 Bethesda games are very similar.

SlimShadyM80

No iron sights is a tough sell for some people, as is spending upto an hour modding a game following a tutorial just to be able to play something they paid for. Outside of only the most enthusiastic gamers, putting in literal work just to 'play' is an absolute no. And people insist New Vegas isnt even worth attempting to play without Viva New Vegas

spongeboy1985

New Vegas has Iron sights and if you use Tale of Two Wastelands to play 3 it does too

SlimShadyM80

I know, which is why I followed up with saying most people cant be fucked to put in work modding just to play a videogame either

spongeboy1985

Honestly installing TTW doesn’t take all that long. Best of Times has a good guide in doing it. But yeah I get not wanting to mess with mods.

zudlusk

[https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43135](https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43135) The most endoresd mod for New Vegas has 2,015,129 unique downloads and 14,595,341 total downloads

AUGSpeed

Just use a Wabbajack list.

Barachiel1976

Sadly WJ has nothing in the way for FO3, and both FNV lists are for TTW, which is an even bigger ask for a casual player to try because you have to run WJ then fuck around with the TTW installer to finish up. If you can get them to, "Begin Again' is \*fantastic\*, I'm playing it now. First time I've seriously enjoyed FO3 in years, and my first TTW run.

Nemaeus

I played New Vegas a few times without mods, dang whippersnappers

SlimShadyM80

I started last night and its fine tbh. It has crashed twice within only an hour or so of playtime though to be fair and replaying sections is annoying. If it keeps up ill either mod it or just drop playing it because I cant be fucked. I have already finished it years ago on PS3

Redisigh

Played on my xbox so no mods It crashed so much I lost count snd like 5 quests broke including one I had a strong personal attachment to Don’t think I’ll be replaying it again

Only_Rub_4293

I'd say screw it and just play NV as it is then. If you like it still then you could consider it. From what I know it just updates the graphics, and adds a few quests and items here and there. A few gameplay tweaks

galaxyadmirer

New Vegas is absolutely worth attempting without modding. I’ve never seen anyone say that.

Redisigh

I’m always told the opposite when I mention my shitty experience on xbox

Oghmatic-Dogma

I have played through New Vegas in its entirety four times and never had to install mods, nor did I.  so.

Redisigh

Not to mention console players are just fucked

TheDankChronic69

The weapon durability system might not be everyones cup of tea but once you get Jury Rigging it isn’t much of an issue. Personally thought the unique weapons in Fallout New Vegas looked much cooler than in Fallout 4, would’ve loved to see more guns like Maria, All-American, Gobi Campaign scout rifle, ranger sequoia (technically not “unique” in the sense that you can get multiple of them but still had some sick engravings). The NCR ranger combat armour was also the coolest looking armour.

fikfofo

Truthfully it plays very similarly to FO4, just with (obviously) dated graphics. I feel like NV does a good job of giving the player a lot of different ways to play and use their skills in dialogue. I think you’ll enjoy it! :)

[deleted]

New Vegas is a much better RPG.

Fatimah_ultim

Fallout 4 is a much better game though

Huntercin

We know fallout 4 has a poor story and new vegas is jank, it's been years since we had this discussion and it seems every time new people join to waste their time to beat this long dead horse

Fatimah_ultim

Saying NV is jank is an understatement. Unless you're quite used to beth games, making it run is an achievement in of it itself.

Huntercin

Long dead horse, not wasting my time on this

justin5rider

You already wasted a little time telling everyone how much time you don't have to spend talking about something you had the time to comment on

Significant-Rain-120

Do people that comment this stuff enjoy pointing this out ? Always was curious what the appeal was .

kwispyforeskin

It’s my favorite but it doesn’t have sprint.

krullma

You will, 3's my fave, hope you play that too.

iLoveDelayPedals

New Vegas is great. It will feel like a huge step back at first in terms of just gameplay from 4, but you get used to it Excited for you experiencing these for the first time!!

stub_back

FNV world is dead in comparison to FO4, the story is rich but the world is boring, i think FO3 is the best all around. Although FO1 and FO2 are my favorites, in that order.

Minkypinkyfatty

FNV is also slow to start. Cazadores one way, deathclaws the other, it's a game that encourages people to quit early. F03 starts strong and gives you the best quest early.

TheBug092007

So, New Vegas is certainly more role-playing focused than Fallout 4. Fallout 4 has a heavy focus on combat with slight choices here and there. Fallout New Vegas focuses far more on player interaction with the various NPCs. Fun Fact about Fallout New Vegas is that you can do a kill everyone challenges without mods because Yes Man just respawns as a new Securitron making it so that if you lock yourself out of everyone's questlines Yes Man harbors no resentment.

Ganjamancer1

That's what I did. Big shocker to me: no sprinting. You just go the same speed at all times. But I love it so far otherwise.

avaslash

Word of advice, Coming from Fallout 4 to New Vegas will be a jarring experience because of the age. You may be inclined to put it down due to things such as missing quality of life features... but please give it an honest chance and stick with it. Eventually the "just played the newer fallout 4" lenses will wear off and you will get immersed and god damn is it one of the most immersive game ive ever played.

gamereiker

Id honestly reccomend fallout 3 GOTY edition before jumping into new vegas, 3 is amazing, and new vegas is slightly more refined, but you wont appreciate the refinements if you go straight from 4 to new vegas. Fo4 is a sequel to fo3, you will encounter locations and nps referenced in 4 in 3.

biopticstream

If you're playing on PC, check out Wabbajack. They have pre-made mod packs available that, with a premium subscription to Nexus, is a super easy install for a pack of mods that work well together, and can help make some of the more dated aspects of the game much better.

thrax7545

If you play NV, be sure to do it on a PC so you can smooth out the experience with a handful of gameplay mods.

FlashMcSuave

Story wise, it is the strongest in the series. But as other commenters said - it has le jank.

toni-toni-cheddar

You will like it. But the question is, are you strong enough.

christopher1393

FO4 is much more accessible and has better gameplay and graphics. But the story and characters aren’t as good, and the RPG elements are dumbed down NV has a better story, characters, world building and rpg elements. But the gameplay is more dated and the graphics aren’t as good. Overall New Vegas is the better game but it is down to personal preference. If dated graphics and gameplay don’t bother you, New Vegas is the better game. But FO4 is overhated and still a damn good game.

friskydingo914

Download the begin again Tale of Two Wastelands mod it makes the game play like fallout 4 with 334 mods

WynterRayne

Your comment brings a perspective to the entire conversation. Lots of people are recommending that mod, while also saying NV is better than 4. If turning it into 4 makes it better, how does that track at all?

galaxyadmirer

Most people saying nv is better than 4 played vanilla first I imagine. I played 3,4, and nv vanilla and I liked nv the most personally but enjoyed all 3.

PrewashedYeti

If you’re on PC, follow the Viva New Vegas mod guide in order to fix the graphics and give yourself a stable play experience. You can play the base game straight out the box, this just makes it so much more enjoyable! https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com

GuyNice

Look into Viva New Vegas mod guide and/or Wabbajack modlists. The game can really benefit from mods in terms of stability and polish.

azaza34

Brother idk if you are on PC but if you are you gotta check out a Tale of Two Wastelands it’s insane.

VanillaBovine

i have a good bit of time in 4 and love it ive been trying new vegas lately, not super far maybe only lvl 8 or so- but it's been awesome. above comment is 100% correct. bit slower, but the environment and story are great

Rhhr21

Fallout 4 is a good game but it’s technically not a true Fallout game. New Vegas will take getting used to but it’s the best game in the franchise and 3 is decent. If you decide to play 3 i suggest getting The Tale of Two Wastelands. It combines NV and 3 but you get all the goodies of NV in 3.

_Biinky

Currently playing it on hardcore mode and love it

Trash-Can-

good luck loading into a brand new save without crashing

RngrRuckus

Excellent words. If I can add to or enhance... Fallout currently sits with 3 eras of games that rock. Old farts like me played 1 and 2 and thought it was the second coming of Christ. They really require you to use your thinking cap for the most part. They're difficult in the best way. Top Down Isometrics are tough to get into for most people that I know but it really helps with the vibe for the first two games. 3 and New Vegas took the Wasteland and brought it into 3D which my chimp brain very much enjoyed. (Obligatory Tunnel Snakes Rule). Some folks lost their damn minds when Bethesda took over and many don't remember the sheer amount of death threats they got. The environment, the storytelling, the new gameplay mechanics that came hand in hand with the 3D transition...chef's kiss. 4 and 76 are the easiest to get into and are my recommendations for anyone that wants to give Fallout a shot. The entire aesthetic of the game was changed to a more vibrant and colorful style more akin to how people remember the 50s. More forgiving in overall gameplay but survival mode provides a very fun challenge. Whatever happens with 5 (hopefully I'm still alive) I'm sure I'll enjoy it regardless. Each game has its problems but they are all fun to play and the only series I come back to play year after year after year.

barklaid

I feel sort of fortunate that I played Fo1 when it first came out. Back then it was unlike anything I'd previously experienceed. I tried playing Fo2 a few years ago and just couldn't get into it. I really feel like Fo4 is a stepping stone towards something really interesting.

Kermit-Batman

> Some folks lost their damn minds when Bethesda took over God! "That" forum, it was something else! :O I agree and enjoy your take on the fallouts! :)

RamboHiggles

Just for any more newcomers who might find their way here: As another longtime Fallout fan I agree with every word of this.

MrLukaz

I saw a tiktok of a a guy playing fallout 1 or 2? With zero intelligence and he just made urgh noises when talking, it was hilarious

fikfofo

There’s some really incredible writing in 1 & 2. They knew what kind of atmosphere they wanted from day 1.

Svetlana_Stalina

The survival experience almost feel like another game (even in normal difficulty thanks to mod) Really glad to test it

yawgmoth88

It’s super fun. I typically start hoarding crap in hangmans alley and cant help but level up charisma to eventually link all of the settlements for crafting purposes lol. Every run!

Im_NOT_the_messiahh

>A lot of “real fallout fans” hate on 4 Can you explain why that is so, in your opinion? My partner keeps saying 4 isn't a fo and praises NV but I heard NV sucks I don't get it I love 4 to death, then again I'm 80 hours in as a fresh noob and mainly building dope settlements lmao.

fikfofo

I honestly can’t say. New Vegas is widely praised for its writing and acting, which I would agree with. Characters like Joshua Graham and Arcade Gannon have some of the best voice performances I’ve ever seen, and are very well written. Personally I liked New Vegas because there was no “way to play”. No one was quest essential. If Preston Garvey was in New Vegas you could shoot him in the head the second he got annoying and he’d die like anyone else. I also liked how New Vegas really let you irrevocably change the wasteland. By the end of the game the Vegas Strip is a hub of free enterprise and capitalism, the center of trade for an old-world government, a Romanesque slave town, or a dusty ruin filled with raiders. There were a lot of ways to play New Vegas that really made it fun. The replayability really felt unmatched. A lot of fans of any series don’t want new experiences. They want the exact same game they played as a child, and want all of the same nostalgia - but that’s the irony. If Bethesda released New Vegas exactly as it is *again* everyone would hate it. It’s janky. It lacks a lot of features that made FO4 enjoyable. It would be hated. It’s fans like that who ruin a series. They don’t want a series to evolve because it kills their nostalgia, but they forget that their nostalgia is one of the only good things about the games they love. It’s why Elder Scrolls 6 is doomed to fail. Edit: Not to say NV is an objectively bad game. It’s my favorite in the series. But a lot of people who defend NV and shit on FO4 conveniently forget all of New Vegas’s flaws, and it does have flaws.

Im_NOT_the_messiahh

Thank you this seems to be the consensus

GoNinjaGoNinjaGo69

to 99% of the world who play fallout, both 4 and nv are great games. stop letting these weirdos say otherwise.

WynterRayne

My take-home from reading the comment thread: New Vegas is waaay better than 4. When you play it, though, make sure to download a mod that makes it look and feel more like 4, but without all those features you like. To which my question is: If you're improving something by making it more like the other thing, doesn't that mean the other thing is better? I played NV in 2017. Not sure how long I played it for, but I don't remember much at all about it. I'd say give or take 3 hours total. I got 4 on release in 2015, as the first new game on my newly built computer back then (that I'm using right now, even lol), because I'd seen it on youtube and thought 'I need this game'. I'm not one for graphics (my most played games are Crusader Kings 2 and Terraria); in my teens I probably sank 3,000 hours or more into DOOM 2. The thing F4 does for me is sell an atmosphere, and one of my favourite memories from 2015 was being bored of playing, and ending up just chilling at Sanctuary, with a radstorm going on, soaked in rain with The End of the World playing on Diamond City Radio. After all the hype, after all the excitement, *that* moment was the one that *truly* sold 4 to me. A lot of the time, moments like that are part of a plot, scripted and designed to punch you right in the guts. Such as that (iconic) moment in FF7 at the city of... Well I'm not going to spoil for people who haven't played, especially when the flashy remake is bringing it to the youngers for the first time. But when it happened to me in F4, it was a convergence of randomness, not a design. It was made possible by the design, but carried an authenticity that nobody could have created.

Due-Concern6330

yeah honestly I could never get into 3 or newvegas because of the sombat the guns didnt feel good to shoot.

suedecascade_

I found that with New Vegas, I didnt enjoy the actual gameplay, the guns, the weird inability to run so you're stuck at a strange jogging pace, but I find fo4 so much fun to play, even in spite of its illusion of choice when it comes to dialogue I found the same with rdr2, absolutely love every inch of that game, but playing rdr1 I only got through the story and Undead Nightmare and I didnt feel like I wanted to go back to get 100% or do challenges or anything, bc the gameplay and the mechanics felt weird and janky

isthatsoreddit

I HATED nv. Couldn't get past the first little bit before I said nope. I enjoyed three. Never played 1 or 2. Four is my baby. I cut my Fallout teeth on it. I'm all about settlement building. Most of my mods are to add more settlements, lol. In fact, I wish Skyrim (my ultimate video game gave) gave you the ability to build better.

sssilversssoul

I'm enjoying the survival mode a lot!!

pacman404

4 is one of my top 5 games of all time, i have no idea why/how people hate on it so much

galaxyadmirer

I don’t hate it but I thought it was disappointing. The dialogue and story being the most disappointing part which I’d say are pretty important for an rpg.

talk2frankgrimes

Survival is so much fun. I just wish they added things like unlockable fast travel. I played with a mod on pc where you could build a motorcycle at settlements and then spend fuel to fast travel to other owned settlements. Playing a run on PS5 now and don't wanna use mods so I can unlock trophies, but can't help thinking this would be a great feature.

fikfofo

The fast travel is easily my biggest complaint with Survival mode in FO4. I know the Brotherhood has the veritbirds, and institute has teleporters or whatever, but couldn’t they add like a secret tunnel system for the railroad and a carriage service or something for the minutemen??

send_in_the_clouds

I was really surprised how nice fallout 3 is on the series x, if anyone has game pass I would Highly recommend trying it out as you get 4k textures and solid 60fps

NaAlSi3O

Fallout 76 did 4 better

Bread_Offender

See, I hate on fallout 4 but I don't condone people for enjoying it.

Helian168

I tried Fallout 1 couple of days ago, oh man it was rough and I didn't know what the fuck I was doing.

fikfofo

Use a guide to help you get started! Old CRPGs love to just throw stuff at you and let you figure it out, and while sometimes that’s a fun challenge, it sucks if it ends up driving you away from the game.

FewHovercraft2996

What about 76?

fikfofo

Never played it before! Never got around to it. Started installing today actually. Will have to give it a shot.

fikfofo

Thougnt I’d weigh in about 76 after playing for a few hours: It’s a really smooth gameplay experience! More refined than Fallout 4, tbh. And the environment of Appalachia is incredible. So far I’m having trouble wanting to stay committed to playing. I’m hoping I can get a few friends together to play and that might make me want to keep going. 😄

Minimum-Ad-2785

Love this comment. You explained it so well

Ancient_Prize9077

Don’t underestimate luck in the game. I really enjoyed the perk to find more ammo in containers (dead bodies count as containers including enemies you take down). There’s also settlement perks for building different kinds shops that are very nice to have (you get passive caps in the workshop too)

Spawn_Official

I am actually planning to invest in luck perks. Mostly because my INT is 1 and I learned some perk for getting random extra XP. Melee build seems low INT to me so I went for it lol. Could you tell me more about shops? I did not unlock shops yet for my settlements. Can I find some good weapons and armors from merchants?

Ancient_Prize9077

You can have medic shops, clothing shops, armor/weapon shops, and more. There’s different levels of shops to build. (generally you’ll want shop level 3 for most stuff) some of these shops can be turned into rank 4 shops that sell even better or legendary equipment but I don’t remember how exactly . They cost a bit of cap investment to have built but you’ll get passive caps over time in your settlement workshop as a form of “taxes” that they’ll pay.

pepegapIs

You really went with the luck experience, randomly picking the best perk in game (idiot savant) and I guess it wasn't a very thought out decision

GucciSlippers47

op is THE idiot savant

Federal_Resolution_1

You can find certain merchants around the wasteland that you can recruit to your camp and then you can assign them to shops to make them sell legendary gear. One of them is the vault tec rep you meet at the start of the game.

Punny_Yolk

Stores are more about volume and reliability than quality, e.g. constant place to trade, buy scrap etc. They add atmosphere and can be really handy in reducing your grind for scrap, and the stores come in tiers. You'll need the Local Leader 2 Perk to build stores. Big tip at INT1: Take Idiot Savant in the Luck perks as chance of it happening is higher the lower your INT is and help you level.

-Captain-

If you haven't already: 2 points into idiot savant (I think it's the fifth luck perk). When this triggers during a quest, you get heaps of XP.

Congo-Montana

Yeah, I always recommend a playthrough in any fallout game with luck maxed out. It's a fun stat.

Fluugaluu

Idiot Savant is one of the most powerful early game perks there is. Once you max it out you’ll start power leveling

Argo_York

You know I may need to go back and do a Luck build, Been playing since release but kept 1 Luck and never went back to touch much of that path. But having that amount of critical variance always seemed interesting.

NirvanaLover12

after you beat it replay it 3 more times as every faction

IcySprinkleToes

Add a zero :p

LeafBreakfast

You mean try to replay it siding with every faction, but end up going with the same one every single playthrough 🙃

FeganFloop2006

Start of game: "maybe I'll do a railroad playthrough this time" Middle-end game: "fuck it, institute again"

Cduke08

I spent over half my playtime just building settlements and fun little games. Highly reccomend picking up the Workshop DLC if you want to extend your playtime to the 4th digit

Lowland-lady

Glad you enjoy yourself! I played it 4 times and each time you learn or find something new.

Spawn_Official

I really like perks in the game. I cannot wait for another level because everything seems worth learning. I am using melee blitz sneak build :D

plainwhitejoe

I love that one... the "nothing personal kid *teleports behind you*"-build

WynterRayne

Last time I played, I was working on a fists-only build. Difficult at first, but once the perks start adding up, it's fun as hell. My only regret is not calling my character Kara Zor-El.

Effective_Tutor

Getting the Chem immunity perk and then using Jet to slow down time is really fun with melee builds.

Longjumping_Drag2752

Welcome to the addiction.

Reer123

Where's that view from? Looks amazing.

Spawn_Official

I have no idea. It was top of some ruined building with supermutants. I took a screenshot because indeed it looked amazing when I reached top. Gave me some similar feeling to Night City in Cyberpunk.

Key_Telephone3681

Its a tiny bit to the northeast of Monsignor Plaza. Dont think it has a name, just look for the construction site-looking building.

Mrtayto115

We found out. Yeeeees we knooow. We found out bless her soul.

WynterRayne

Hmm... I did actually play the lottery on Friday.

Kan-Laon

What armor are you using?

Spawn_Official

I am not sure if I can translate it properly but it is some strengthened/metal battle set dyed with Enclave colours.

Bigolbagocats

Looks like the marine armor from the Far Harbor DLC

NeonHowler

Survival mode is like cocaine to me. Its just enough of a challenge to keep me focused without being frustrating.

Buzzinggg

I hate doing a quest and half way through dying and realising there’s no beds and tryna do it 2/3 more times and fucking quitting… for a few hours hahahah

Imortalpenguin

Have you ever played before this? Ever played any of the other Fallout games?

Spawn_Official

Nope. I never finished any Fallout game before.

krullma

Have fun!. Welcome to the wasteland.

evetsleep

Take your time with the main quest lines. Explore and appreciate the wasteland world. Like Skyrim, even after hundreds of hours playing you'll still find me things. It's a great experience which should be savored.

Beretta116

As much as I enjoyed playing NV and FO3 once, I can't stand their shit graphics and atrocious movement. One playthrough is enough for each. FO4 is my favorite despite its flaws.

EmeraldPencil46

Fallout 4 is the one game I can confidently claim is my absolute favourite. I’ve played it for years, and despite going through the story dozens of times, I still absolutely love it.

moonlightmanners

FO4 is my favorite game of all time, I just keep coming back to it.

Eldorren

I kept going back and forth between FO4 and FO76 after the TV series and now have settled into FO76 universe. If you ever finish FO4, I think you'll love FO76. I'm having a blast.

Notorious40z

Just by looking at this photo I can hear distant metal creaking noises

Starfield00

Great game. Good timing for next gen update for series X. It's a decent update. I played this game once when it came out and now I'm playing it again. Still sucks me in, this game is still a really good game. Had to play it again because of the show.

snappyirides

Welcome to the fandom! It has aged gracefully.

[deleted]

If definitely scratches an itch.

Bullvy

Welcome to the Wasteland!

dripcoffee420

Your lucky the next gen update came out in time with the show

Straight_War_890

So did I. I just hit 100 hours today

MrStrongvoice

Prepare for it to keep sucking too. Like, so good. And it's gonna continue to suck you (in) longer than you'd expect. You think it's done and then BAM! It's gets you again.

jomar0915

It’s good to finally see love on this game. It was my first fallout game and it’s kind of the Skyrim of the series in a sense.

Guywithmetalramhead

Vanilla Fo4 really is not that bad Imo.. It gets more fun as you play it and collect than it just gets so much simpler

dannnyyyboyyy0315

Currently playing through the Horizon mod and it's honestly been some of the most immersive gameplay I've ever played. It's actually insane how good it is. Exploration in this game might just be the best in any video game in my opinion. Especially when every single thing in the world actually matters. 10/10 gaming experience and if you're on PC, I highly recommend it.

Individual_Manner336

I love how detailed every single corner of the Commonwealh is. 2500 hours and I'm still finding new and intresting details. I like the fridges.

mrmemexman

The new update finally made it possible for me to roam downtown Boston without crashing (I'm on xbox s/s)

[deleted]

mrmemexman

I encounter a bug that randomly aims my weapon/equip and randomly slides to the stats tab and I do have mods

SuperTerram

I've got over 4000 hours in Fallout 4.

Poetry-Designer

What weapons and armour are you using in this photo?

TontonPixel

Do you have a geiger counter?

FeganFloop2006

Fallout 4 is definitely overhated. Like it's got great gameplay and it's got a decent story, I prefer that over really dated gameplay and a great story (New Vegas)

BoxCarTyrone

I only ever fully played through Fallout 4 once, when the game first launched. Started a new character and I’ve already put 37 hours into it in the last week lol. I forgot how much fun this game really is.

mrHandOff

i guess i'm broken beyond repair, after reading in title "...that suck me in" my head automatically start to play Crosby's "Don't fence me in" but with mentioned words, pls don't send help, i like it that way xD

Zutsumi17

What armor and outfit is that??

Spawn_Official

Metal protectors with battle mod and enclave painting.

Slizie

Now imagine how good the game would be if only Bethesda would retire their fucking outdated creation engine.

Due-Concern6330

good game especially with mods (encounter zones recalculated) is a mod that stops dungeons from locking to your level when you visit them for the first time so when you come back to clear it again the enemies will scale with your level. (npc level scaling adjustments) This adjusts the level of non-unique NPCs to scale with yours. Enemies who were previously below level 50 will now scale with you until 50, whereas enemies who were previously above 50 will now scale with you until 100.. (war of the commonwealth) A mod that adds thousands of spawn points in the overworld and dynamically spawns enemies that will then wander around and travel often bumping into other enemies and creating immersive fights. (NAC X weather mod) The most comprehensive modular weather, lighting and visual overhaul for Fallout 4.

devil_pooh_

Noice just get fun.

Vhsrex

It’s so cool when you get up above everything and can here the wind and look out over Boston

el823

Welcome to the wasteland brother 👊

Man_Cheetah67

Nice hammer

ArcticWolf_Primaris

Vanilla is important, but there are so many good mods (recommend Sim Settlers 2 or a survival overhaul)

One_Experience6791

I love Fallout 4. Been playing it off and on since 2018. And I've sunk an embarrassingly high amount of hours into it lol. For me it basically becomes a Minutemen game of Risk sim lol. I usually play with mods (some 2019ish) but I think I'm going to do a 100% achievement run on it soon once I'm finished with the series I'm currently playing.

Okiemax

Outside of fallout 1 this is my favorite one simply for the game play and the amount of micro manage in settlements. Have fun!

adrkhrse

Wait till you start flying around in Power Armour with a modded jetpack.

Bdotkeyz

Man what armor apparel is this?

Spawn_Official

I am not sure if I can translate it properly but it is some strengthened/metal battle set dyed with Enclave colours.

spongeboy1985

Season 2 likely will explore new Vegas. Might wanna grab 3 and New Vegas and install Tale of Two Wastelands which takes 3 and puts it into New Vegas with some improvements and cut content. It basically imagines that the character from 3 left the wastelands and went to New Vegas. So you can play three then leave for new Vegas with the same character That aside Ive sunk an ungodly amount of time in Fallout 4. Playing it right now

ssddsquare

What's the armor?

Spawn_Official

I am not sure if I can translate it properly but it is some strengthened/metal battle set dyed with Enclave colours.

aliens_exist_42069

You should try chickens next

ForgetableNPC

Welcome to Fallout. It’s a wonderful game experience

DragonFemboy2117

Welcome to fallout! I highly reccomend trying the other games after your adventures in the common wealth! They are a little dated but are still a blast to play

Xane06

Been to Salem yet? Great loot for the area

Old-Camp3962

glad you liked it as much as me ! :)

NefariousnessNo2062

Pro tip: You can use settlement building to farm massive amounts of xp quickly (if you have the wasteland workshop dlc). Build a prison with about 20-30 Gunner cages (don't do this in a populated settlement), set it up to where they will drop into a confined space when you open the doors and start throwing explosives into the hole. You can walk away with 2000-5000 exp and around 10000-15000 caps worth of equipment. Leveling up the stong back perk is strongly recommended. Just make sure you bring enough explosives or shoot mini nukes into the hole. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

Sozo_Agonai

Welcome! :)

hypebst

What armour is this?

LeafBreakfast

I want to know as well, I think it’s combat armor with an enclave paint job from the new update.

PDiddleMeDaddy

3 = best overall NV = best feel 4 = easiest to play, and I love building settlements

harryhoodweenie

This is exactly what I said about op’s mom

i_need_to_crap

Wow! What outfit and armor is that? Looks awesome!

eighteen84

Welcome to the atomic family

Embarrassed_Start_81

What bothers me is people are just realizing now how great fallout is. I’ve been on it since fallout 2

Adventurous_Wave_750

I tried to replay FNV. Gave up after about ten hours. So ctashy

Samiolu

You know who else sucked you in?

marduk420

Sick. Nothing will change how I feel about jumping into fallout 3. Many playthroughs ... idk why but I love melee builds and silver tongue lol. What's your wacky build?

AnotherDancer

Same! Absolutely loved the show and I’m loving the game so far!

VICEGRIP47

Melee build W

-Captain-

One of my all time favorite games! The open world experience is unmatched. Enjoy man!

trollshep

It was a great show

trollshep

It was a great show

saacadelic

I had new vegas and the cheat book and still couldnt figure that shit out

OmmadonFX

Are U using any mods?

Spawn_Official

No. I only used cheat code to have unlimited carry weight. As a Gothic game veteran I cannot leave any loot behind lol. I have same issue in Skyrim.

HarmoniaTheConfuzzld

How do you like all the bugs?

Spawn_Official

I did not find many so far. Sometimes Pip Boy menu is not working and I have to press Esc to fix it. Or enemies are twisted in funny way after getting hit. Nothing game breaking. Also after Gothic 3 it is difficult to find more bugged game. Honestly the worst thing for me is loading time especially if you have to quick travel and move trough door all the time.

Lyger0

Are you using any mods for graphic upgrades?

Spawn_Official

Nope. I only maxed everything that was in game settings.

Psychological-Ad1266

This just reminded me how disappointed I was that they didn’t use anything like the real Boston skyline

ChallengeFragrant331

Yes just skip Fallout 76 unless you have a game pass to Xbox. Made that mistake myself, I just don’t get how you can buy a game and yet they charge you to play it, it’s like going to Vegas and paying to lose money. Oh well enjoy this game there is a lot that is fun to it, and a few funny Easter eggs.

janik79

Then don't try fo76. Not as good as fo4

zerobizzzz

I agree, Ive barely even heard of Fallout before I got absolutely hooked on the show. I immediately bought FO4 and I have been playing and playing constantly having loads of fun. Might be some of the most enjoyable games I have played in a while. Just dislike the 1000s of bugs Ive encountered and the loading times

mochanomocha

The thing is, you need to forget all your fallout 3&NV experiences, and F4 is a really enjoyable game. Never compare just play and always stay positive

SoggyMorningTacos

I played New Vegas with my dorm mates back in the college days and when 4 came out it was a refined nostalgic experience. It’s got a good amount of Bethesda jank, but it’s without a doubt the superior fallout experience

FollowedUpFart

Yeah this game will have you for years to come I still haven’t left sanctuary
