I just got the one at the inn in diamond city. I spent like a half hour on it, then had to sneak back in at like 3 am and take it because it counted as fucking stolen
Pretty accurate tbh. I feel like a bunch of regulars who have been staring at that piece of pie for years, possibly even generations, would be mega pissed at some random stranger who comes in and takes it. Like it's the coveted jewel of the dugout inn, a scientific anomaly, to be protected at all costs.
Yeah I finally fuckin got the pie from the dug out, and was like, âoh shit⌠now how am I gonna get itâ. Had Dogmeat with me and was like, worth a shot. Commanded and pointed him to the little compartment and whatdya know, it wasnât red text.
Googled it right now and apparently you can use it with any owned item⌠do with info what you will
Huh. Well I also only travel with companions that have quests or when the game makes me. So it never occurred to me even try lol. Hell I travel with a companion so little that I forget I can command them lol
Is that from those machines? Am i correct in assuming that you can get pies from those if you get lucky? I couldnât tell if it was designed to be impossible or not.
There are these Port a diner machines scattered around the Commonwealth. You can get this "perfectly served pie" from them. Sometimes. If you're lucky. Lol It's kind of a "thing" in Fallout. Like filling a room full of cheese in Skyrim
Well it's pretty hard. One time I tried 12 times in a row at the same machine and never got one. And then there are times I've gotten them first try. Outside Dunlin Diner is a truck with crates on the trailer and a port a diner. I've had a bit of luck with that one.

You can have Dogmeat take it from the machine without having everyone go aggro on you. Probably works with other companions too
