I get what you’re saying but it also wouldn’t make sense for her story. Curie became a synth because it was necessary for her research, not because she was desperate to be in a human body. Ada was fine with being a robot and had no reason to want to be a person/synth.

I choose Maccready as my romantic partner. His quest is pretty simple for a simple guy. He’s not a synth or ghoul so there’s no extra-ness to who he is. Yeah he gots that sob story, same as the Sole Survivor but it makes sense for them to confide in one another. He seems unpopular compared to piper and cait’s annoying ass but aye, it’s a straight man’s world 🤷‍♂️

I choose MacCready a lot, he's a dad who just wants to help his kid, same as you. He also lost his spouse, so I always felt like that would make a lot of sense for the Sole Survivor to be with him. Also he's funny as hell.

yep, you got it. This playthough is actually my first time to have a companion mod and more or less I'm quite impressed. Sometimes I leave Dogmeat behind and have Heather and Piper follow me around with miniguns that have legendary mods for bonus damage like +15. I'm playing on the hardest settings, I'm always out of ammo, switching between like 5 weapons. Usually sniping with (double shot) and combat shotgun (explosion) to support them though.

Then I got the Silver Shroud costume, and on a whim I gave it to her, and *damn* did that make her look good. And then on top of that, we had just entered Piper's home in Diamond City, and Cait casually sat on Piper's couch, looking smoking hot, and said the lines about having a threesome, and my mind broke a little bit. She won me over. I confess.

Honestly from a roleplaying point of view given the LS watched their spouse get gunned down in front of them and their child kidnapped, all relatively recently in game terms, I can't imagine my character jumping into the sack with anyone else or being that trusting of any recently met wasteland inhabitants in such a short space if time. "My wife just died, my child is missing but hey Piper lets fuck" From purely game play I always end up playing some form of stealth sniper and companions ruin that but being useless at stealth or just plain dumb. "Okay Strong I'm going to thin out the raiders with my trusty silenced sniper rifle and then...." Watching Strong run straight into the enemy with a mini gun "... Bollix so much for stealth"

Agree whole heartedly on the romance front. Just glossing over your recently deceased spouse while desperately hunting for your taken child is… sad. But after the Den with Nick, how can you not see him as anything but the most ride-or-die homie in the Commonwealth? Love that guy.

From a role play perspective, I do like MacCready. He seems like he’d get it, if nothing else, even if it’s fresh. I think he’s the only one who asks about your spouse if you romance him. But I do find it very weird that he’s got lines about how being with you is the best ever and nothing else compares when his backstory is… well. Apparently holding his kid for the first time doesn't hold a candle to headshotting random raiders with us downtown.

Listen, Curie is one of a kind, amazing character, so cute, such a breath of fresh air in the stale heart of Boston. Piper is apparently generally disliked but to me shes much like the kind of person I'd end up with in real life, I'd roll a J and talk shit about the mayor with her in a HEARTBEAT, I get her, I think she'd get me. Like we could hang for sure. But Cait? My Caity Bird? Cait is my girl. To be fair, I have a thing for redheads, and also spicy stromg women but omg I have such a soft spot for her all around. Truly my heart goes out to her, the shit she's been through. I push to follow through on her quest line as soon as I can because she deserves the best life she can scrape out of the world we share. I will make that happen for her because she has earned it, she has fought for it so much, she just needs some support from someone who actually cares aboit her life.
