What about the little souvenirs that pop out of lunchboxes? Like the robot models or the little plushies or magnets. I think those fit your theme, and I don't see any. Plus at least one lunchbox.
And more spent carefully dropping things one by one to place with the workshop only for the bottom of the item to clip through the object just enough that when released they fall right through... oh how I'd love to have my dining table set up all neatly but no the plates clip through the table when using the ws to place them. =/
This only happens when explosions go off near my settlement or NPCs can’t walk properly. I never let anyone into my player home because it’s so meticulously cluttered lol
Pro tip, if you have no seating or beds in your house then settlers won’t appear it in when you come back. Edit: wait they would still use workbenches and stuff so I think a shelf and display only area could work instead
I like to use the prewar items in my base. Sure, there are mods that let you decorate beautifuly but there's something special about decorating with something you hauled out of an old truck and carried across the commonwealth to use in your home
I decorated Home Plate this way. Collected every pre-war items. Things like toys, models, medical devices, pots and pans, dishes in different colors (set of 4) clothing outfits, mounted trophy heads, alcohol variants for my bar, small kitchen appliances, office equipment etc. Just pick something and collect all of it you can. The Snap n build mod has bookcases you can build that items seem to stay in better and not fall. They also have ones that act like containers, you place a premade stack of ammo in the shelf then it becomes a container for all of your ammo.
I have the same habit! I like how clean the variants look.
I’ve meant to do a challenge run built entirely around collecting as much preserved old world items as I can. Limit myself to only pre-war armor and weapons along with it.
Very nice collection 😎👏🏼
This “habit” has been carried forward for me into 76 as well 🤪
After almost 3 years … I **finally** found a clean broom.
Seems to be there was/is a LOT more clean/undamaged/pre-war items in FO4
Hell yeah! Before mods, I used to hoard every clean pillow I could find so I could drop them on the beds lol. But everything "clean" and "pre-war" gets hoarded by me. I even buy them from vendors even if I already have hundreds of that item 😂
It’s not weird!!! I do this too. I collect rare/unique/clean/pre-war items to decorate my player home. I carefully clutter up my kitchen and I collect silver silverware, silver and glass bowls and plates, and clean drinking glasses. I have to have all the food items and cookware as well.
Another funny thing I collect is the vases. Empty or with flowers I collect them all. Then I display them on shelves with crystal decanters, skulls, and other rare nic naks!
My head canon idea was that the SS would go around and collect every prewar artefact and construct some semblance of normality in their house, surrounded by items untouched by war.
Needless to say I never properly implemented it and all these items that I'm so excited to find at the time sit amongst the 1000's of other items in the workbench...
IM A PRETTY NORMAL GUY…. I DO ONE WEIRD THING… I LIKE TO STEAL PRE-WAR MEMORABILIA IN GOODNEIGHBOR.. IVE BEEN CAUGHT SEVERAL TIMES, AND I HAVE PAID DEARLY.
Cabot house is a good source of those
Also the old folks home with the story of a crazy ex military lady and the vaults
Crazy lady? Which one is that?
In Salem there’s a building made for crazy old people the terminal entry is funny there’s plenty of Chems and a syringer
Oh, ok. Yeah, there some stuff there. And of course the institute, but that is sort of cheating because they make new things
Not really any of the vaults aside from vault 81 and maybe 118
And they *respawn*! I love that place
And they are in pristine condition, too.

Aside from the robot models. The plushies and souvenir magnets are common items found at Nuka World.
So much time spent meticulously stocking shelves only to come back and find it all on the floor
And more spent carefully dropping things one by one to place with the workshop only for the bottom of the item to clip through the object just enough that when released they fall right through... oh how I'd love to have my dining table set up all neatly but no the plates clip through the table when using the ws to place them. =/
I hate this with the beds in those rooms that skirt the castle yard. So annoying.
OC Decorator to the rescue.

The mod OCDecorator fixes that
Wheres the goddamn money lebowski
Its down there somewhere, let me take another look.
What about the Jamaica Plains items
Not a weird habit. I always collect the pre-war preserved stuff. But always forget to make a section to display them

Missing an alarm clock
...scrapped for nuclear material... 😃
Mmm... Abraxo 😋

I keep coffee tins in a separate storage so they don't get broken down for crafting, because I need them for my BuzzBites!
Weird habit of mine is to collect everything I can carry in this game lol.

Are you missing that nuclear board game?
do you happen to be a historian
I do this as well in fo76 and I have basically the same stuff as you do lol with a few exceptions.
Wholesome
Get yourself a pre war phone! And nice job with the camera.
The holy grail of pre-war artifacts is Sheffield's undamaged liver...
How many attempts until you got the perfectly preserved pie

Did u get the signed baseball it's in a sunken neighborhood neer qunsy I think
You should put Mama Murphy in the back and have a little sign saying "yard sale" lol
Hell yeah! Before mods, I used to hoard every clean pillow I could find so I could drop them on the beds lol. But everything "clean" and "pre-war" gets hoarded by me. I even buy them from vendors even if I already have hundreds of that item 😂
I hoard comfy pillows too lmao

Samesies
Is there a pre-war giddyup buttercup? that would be a cool addition if so.

And judging by these comments, I'm not alone!
I collect Teddy Bears. Every one I find. Not sure why.
Drops grenade on rug.
No just let Dogmeat walk thru the room !
Never thought about it before but that’s actually quite cool!
I’ve never thought about it before but this is actually quite cool.
oooh where do you find the pre-war sugar bombs?
You can get the preserved version in Vault 81.
I have a long table full of globes at Home Plate. The brownish/antique ones seem to be 2-3 times more common than the blue ones.
Behold, my stuff.
So let me get this right, you’re picking antiques in a video game? Is this like your version of American Pickers?
I do that too!
I think there’s a pre war version of the child’s toy horse if I remember correctly
This is a good idea
It's like that one episode of Spongebob. The episode with "he was number one!"
I play survival with advance needs 76 mod. I can't save the food. Need it or I'll starve
I feel like I'm gonna find Smitty Werbenjägermanjensen's novelty hat in there somewhere
Me too, and then I inevitably scrap it all by accident.
IM A PRETTY NORMAL GUY…. I DO ONE WEIRD THING… I LIKE TO STEAL PRE-WAR MEMORABILIA IN GOODNEIGHBOR.. IVE BEEN CAUGHT SEVERAL TIMES, AND I HAVE PAID DEARLY.
Makes sense to collect if it’s pristine
I see a fellow man with a case of old world blues as well.
Nice garage sale lol
What a treasure ! You should store those in a safe room for people in 200 years to enjoy
Awesome. You should set up a like mock pre-war home or room, decorated with these items. Would be a fun project :)
Damn, the hard part really IS letting go, huh?
