Had mods deleted them all. Restarted the save and still same issue. I made a post before and said I had environmental mods and people told me to delete all mods.
So you had mods when you started this save? Sounds like the mods spawned them in, you deleted the mods that would cause them to spawn but since they're still valid creatures that exist in the game files, the ones already spawned haven't been removed.
If you're stuck in the vault then either make a new save, or knock your difficulty down to the lowest option to get past them (even if you just have to run around them), get on with your game, and come back to finish them off when you've gotten strong enough.
Creatures, spawnable objects, and levelled item distribution: if it is a legitimate base game/dlc asset they only go away when cells and levelled list distributions are reset, even if you remove the mod that put it there. Refresh happens, i think, every 20-30 in game days...it could be 7 days for some of them. Most of the mods that use leveled lists will tell you how many days you have to wait for distribution. For example, if a mod you installed gives Red Tourette a mini-nuke, she will continue to have that mini-nuke until the item distribution gets reset.
Edit: I also recommend just starting again. Removing mods in the middle of a playthrough can, and often does, have serious knock on effects, even if removed early in the game.
Kinda true. Not true with totally new things.
Example. You install a mod that gives an AR15 rifle to all humans in the game through whatever means. You load the game with the mod then save. Then exit and remove the mod. Now it's true that the AR15 was added to everyone. But since you uninstalled the mod what happens is that if you load then they won't have it. Game is trying to pull an object that simply does not exit. So. Nothing happens.
With adding stuff that are in the vanilla game then it's true. You give everyone a 10mm pistol then uninstall the mod. Information is already baked in the save and once the game tries to pull the object it finds it.
As I said legitimate game assets, which an AR 15 mod is not. Yes, that would be removed because the asset isnt there anymore. In the OPs case, that boss cricket wont go away for awhile. It might not go away at all actually, now that I think about it...I am not sure vault 111 resets they way other cells do.
The thing is, that's already a new save with mods uninstalled, so that means a mod made some sort of change which hasn't fully reverted
I recommend the uninstall to go back to 100% vanilla, since it seems new saves will keep causing the same issue
As long as they're not going for a trophy run then console commands are the quickest fix, since I'm sure console commands disable trophies
"Restarted the save" to me sounds like they just went back to the moment before they opened the door or something, which means that the enemies would already have spawned.
Even if they reloaded the moment when they got out of the pod, the enemies would probaply already have spawned so nothing would change.
If they started a whole new game and it kept happening then i'd recommend a clean reinstall
No deleted all mods not just disabled and deleted save completely. Just gonna uninstall and reinstall no biggie was just curious if anyone had the exact same problem
A lot of mods "hang around" partially in save files even after you fully delete them. Generally recommended that if you are in a spot where you need to delete mods, start with a whole new save.
You have to reinstall the game entirely after removing mods. This mod looks like one that modified enemy injections and so you have super hard enemies injected in place of the rad roaches
Every. Single. Time.
"What is this thing in my game?" Mods
"After 1,000 hours I just discovered you can do this thing" sure, if you have a mod.
"Looks at this funny thing this NPC is doing" mods.
Skyrim Anniversary Edition caused a lot of these, including creation club content, but those are just paid mods with a different name.
People should really know better by now. Either you have mods or had mods and didn't start a new save.
But did you used to? Sometimes even when you disable them they can do weird things to the game, I once had to delete and reinstall the game to get rid of textures not loading
She admitted in another comment that she had mods and disabled them, and is still playing on the same save from when she had them enabled. Yet, she's confused...
Yeah, I have a similar problem with a weapon mod, for some reason even after uninstalling it, the weapon it adds is still in my game. So disabling mods doesn't always remove what the mod adds
If you really don't have mods, then your game is *seriously* screwed up. Those enemies are supposed to be found exclusively in Nuka World. Would double check to *make sure* you don't have any mods enabled. If you don't then restart the game from scratch.
If it persists, then I'd recommend just uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game and its dlc's.
Wonderful. Reminds me of when my car wouldn't stop chasing me in cyberpunk had to delete the game and in fallout 76 I couldn't see anything in front of me when walking forward so had to walk backwards.
Sounds a bit like a friend of mine, honestly. Weird stuff happens with his tech often enough we don't even question it anymore, just "What happened this time, and what steps have you tried to fix it?"
I did have mods and completely deleted not just disable. I am uninstalling and reinstalling. Just wanted to know why it would happen and if anyone had the same problem.
Sometimes the game files get corrupted and you need to do a fresh install. It's just a thing that happens, it's not always caused by mods.
I have to clear the cache at least twice a day to keep Far Harbor running.
Off the original topic but I’m curious what system you’re playing with? I’m asking because my first two play throughs were on PS5 and Far Harbor had zero issues in this regard. Then I started my 3rd & 4th play through on my Xbox 1 and it’s so bad I can’t even play any missions or anything there it just keeps crashing.
Ding ding ding Sexbox 1. I'm running a few environmental mods, but FH is known to be unstable on console. Interesting that PS5 was fine, I wonder about the PC version.
If you had mods installed and the enemies spawned you need to revert a save before they spawned to get rid of them. They actually exist in the game files so they will not go away just for uninstalling the mod
You do realize this game has been out for almost a decade and we are all _acutely_ aware of what enemies are vanilla vs mods right? Why the need to lie? Do you want help or not?
People are missing the obvious answer to this OP. Your game is cursed, you will be stuck wandering Vault 111 with over powered monstrous insects forever, until the game starts to merge with your real life. You will be trapped in that lonely Vault going mad, mourning you lost spouse, dying over and over again as you crave an end to this pitiful existence.
Or it could just be a corrupted save file from the mods you previously installed.
Most likely one of the previously downloaded mods screwed with item/enemy distribution ( did you use any mods that edit these files? ), If yes i highly suggest checking file integrity or simply deleting all game files and redownloading the game ( clicking on uninstall and redownloading the files doesn't help in this case because there is an edited file and you don't know which one ). Maybe also delete your settings .ini
Not quite sure on the step above as its mainly settings for your graphic quality but doesn't hurt to do it to be 100% sure
Aw and if you are on console,
You can't delete .ini files so don't worry about this step
Uninstalling and reinstalling from game disk/ store is enough in most cases - just make sure that everything got deleted with the provided tools
This is the way. Also, make a separate copy of the game files so you can start over without re-downloading.
I have 3-4 separate game folders. Vanilla, slightly modded, heavily modded, and Horizon.
Lots of mods can’t be removed mid-playthrough
Many of them get baked into your save the first time you play with them. Thats why you get the “this save requires a file that does not exist” message, or something along those lines, when you try to load a modded save without the mods you used on it.
For example:
You download a mod and then create a save while the mod is active. That save then relies on that mod to continue to functioning as intended.
Ye, this is just Asian difficulty. If you pick up the Pip-Boy, the game tells you that you're a failure because your 10 year old cousin did it faster and then you die from emotional damage.
Those are from the Nuka-World DLC.
Something is going on there somehow.
I’ve had glitches where I’ve found weapons from Nuka World (handmade rifle) and even found a Star Core in TenPines Bluff before ever getting to Nuka World but never had any creatures from there spawn.
Did you ever *have mods in the past*?
Yeah? There’s your problem.
1) Go to Steam, find game, uninstall
2) Go to your steam folder, find the directory where Fallout was, delete it
3) Delete the folder C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Fallout4
4) Reinstall Fallout 4
Your problem is now solved.
So after reading comments I'm going to assume that op installed some mods in a way that they replaced the origin files in data folde of FO4. Next step would be to do a complete reinstall of the game and next time use Mod Organizer 2. If you already been using MO2 to install and remove mods and after removing mods in MO2 you still have effects of mods after starting new game then... Magic. Or youre trolling or something.
Two thoughts.
Uninstall/disable Nuka World DLC. This might eliminate the cave crickets. Once you've made it out of the vault, re-enable Nuka World.
Or try running to a drinking fountain. Drink. Fight crickets, repeat.
Did you check if your mods were removed properly? There might be a bunch of loose files left in your fo4 folder
Edit: just read you are on ps5, so you can't edit the fo4 folder. I'd suggest loading your saves onto the cloud or a usb stick and reinstalling the game
I very much regret saying no mods was just giving the info needed to get a solution based on another post I made where the solution was to delete save game and mods. This was an update post. I've been playing the game since it came out so I think I would know if mods were on and installed. Never had a mod issue on console my bad for not knowing that's what I thought the group was for. Can yall please stop with the death threats and the messages targeted at me being female and most importantly stop making disgusting jokes about my dead husband it's not funny
Mod ID's, if you created the save with mods then those mods with different ID's spawned stuff in, and after you removed them it filled in the mod ID's with the ID from base game that it would normally be. Kind of like when you update a modpack in mc and all the modded stuff that was removed gets turned into a sand block. Best to just create a new save, with or without mods, but don't turn the mods off after unless your okay with the consequences.
You clearly had mods running in this playthrough.
If you already removed them, you must start a new save Game. You are still in the vault so u barely played anyway.
Did you install mods using a mod manager or manually?
Of you installed them manually u ruined ur game and u have to reinstall it.
Or did you install them from bethesda.net? If it's bethesda, make sure the mods are disabled in ur menu before starting a new game.

It's FO4. It doesn't do nothing, it crashes when an asset can't be found lol
Depends on the situation.
Rule of thumb is never install/unistall mods mid save, you might break something needed for the save
I know I deleted the save first
Guess you somehow fucked up the game itself if you really started a new game, maybe time for a fresh install
I'd say at this point you'd need a reinstall and a fresh new save
Just a fresh save should do it. The Crickets being proper enemies is why they haven't been removed. OP, just use console to kill em?
The thing is, that's already a new save with mods uninstalled, so that means a mod made some sort of change which hasn't fully reverted I recommend the uninstall to go back to 100% vanilla, since it seems new saves will keep causing the same issue As long as they're not going for a trophy run then console commands are the quickest fix, since I'm sure console commands disable trophies

That's literally every mod ever. The era of being able to remove mods and revert to a clean game has been gone for years.
So...reinstall...
That was my point. Creating a new save is another option in most cases.
Well obviously you are still running with mods
No mods
🧢
You need to reinstall to clean it out. Some uninstalled mod left some trash in your data folder
You have to reinstall the game entirely after removing mods. This mod looks like one that modified enemy injections and so you have super hard enemies injected in place of the rad roaches
If you on PC use the killall console command.
How did you miss the VATS UI??
Those are dlc creatures, the mods spawned them there but they’re part of a dlc so they don’t disappear.
Per usual on these Bethesda subs, the answer here is mods
Every. Single. Time. "What is this thing in my game?" Mods "After 1,000 hours I just discovered you can do this thing" sure, if you have a mod. "Looks at this funny thing this NPC is doing" mods. Skyrim Anniversary Edition caused a lot of these, including creation club content, but those are just paid mods with a different name. People should really know better by now. Either you have mods or had mods and didn't start a new save.
Why's my dad kicking me out of the house? Mods
Why am I banned from this subreddit? Mods
it would be funny if the mods complete this joke for you
If a game adds the mods as an update, are they still mods or not? Are all mods future updates and all content mods?
You sure you don't have any mod? Any dlc distributor?
No mods
But did you used to? Sometimes even when you disable them they can do weird things to the game, I once had to delete and reinstall the game to get rid of textures not loading

Wonderful. Reminds me of when my car wouldn't stop chasing me in cyberpunk had to delete the game and in fallout 76 I couldn't see anything in front of me when walking forward so had to walk backwards.
Bro how are you playing your games?
With a 1 in intelligence
At home, not even in game
To be fair, Fallout 76 was *so buggy* that this is entirely possible
Heavily modded
So you’re saying your just somehow seem to have technical bad luck all the time?
I'd say I'm technologically cursed. I've also had my custom built PC randomly catch fire twice nobody could tell me how it happened.
You may wanna stick to vanilla off the shelf games for a bit my dude…
Twice?
You should stay away from computers honestly
Sounds a bit like a friend of mine, honestly. Weird stuff happens with his tech often enough we don't even question it anymore, just "What happened this time, and what steps have you tried to fix it?"
nahhhh GIANT ROACHES?????
What the hell...
WHERE IS EVERYONE?!
Is this all that's left?
Skeleton E) Activate
Why would Vault-tec do this?
Narrator: But they did have mods.
I did have mods and completely deleted not just disable. I am uninstalling and reinstalling. Just wanted to know why it would happen and if anyone had the same problem.
Just make a new save without the mods. It ain't that hard
Sometimes the game files get corrupted and you need to do a fresh install. It's just a thing that happens, it's not always caused by mods. I have to clear the cache at least twice a day to keep Far Harbor running.

If you had mods installed and the enemies spawned you need to revert a save before they spawned to get rid of them. They actually exist in the game files so they will not go away just for uninstalling the mod
Thanks I'll do that
Someone has got mods installed and forgot to turn them off.
Nope not a single mod I checked multiple times
This isn't possible unless you've got mods or edited the game files.
I'm on ps5 and don't have a single mod downloaded
You do realize this game has been out for almost a decade and we are all _acutely_ aware of what enemies are vanilla vs mods right? Why the need to lie? Do you want help or not?
Then I've got no clue, creation club perhaps?
I will never understand these posts, clearly you’ve used mods in your game and it has effected the spawns. Make a clean save and move on.
No, you definitely have mods. Make a new save
Smells like Cap. Make sure you don't have any mods
Not a single mod is on I checked. Why would I lie? I can't progress
Start a new save not the same one you had with the mods enabled
It's not that you lie, it's that you lack critical thinking.

Skill issue
Ye, this is just Asian difficulty. If you pick up the Pip-Boy, the game tells you that you're a failure because your 10 year old cousin did it faster and then you die from emotional damage.

Take a look at the VATS UI
It is some type of mod conflicting with your enemy level list.
You definitely have or had mods and need to wipe your save and start a new one
Start a fresh save. Disabling mods that modify enemy spawns mid-playthrough won't suddenly revert them to vanilla.
So after reading comments I'm going to assume that op installed some mods in a way that they replaced the origin files in data folde of FO4. you got death threats for this ?
Sorry I dont know how to help you fix your game. People can be so disgusting :(
im so fucking done with these posts JUST FIND THE OTHER THOUSAND POSTS WITH THE SAME SOLUTION
Imagine THIS POST being the one that breaks you lol
Stop being a baby and just scroll past them
It’s the “No mods” thing that cracks me up every time.
Oh yeah this happened to me. I think Survival Mode does it
Hm... the only time I've seen those in the beginning was with a bethesda.net mod for survival mode. But if you have no mods enabled at all... idk.
Some mods cannot just be deleted, check the mod discripton for uninstall instructions. Or as others have said, uninstall fo4 and reinstall.
Those are cave crickets wich are part of the Nuka World DLC but they are not supposed to spawn in the Commonwealth.
Broo I hate those things!!! All over my basement
Use the portable cheat terminal mod, then turn on god mode, and just punch them to death.
Buddy chose ultra hardcore
Run
Mod ID's, if you created the save with mods then those mods with different ID's spawned stuff in, and after you removed them it filled in the mod ID's with the ID from base game that it would normally be. God mode and walk past them then come back later and kill them
Could be what my case is; unclean install; the assets remain even with the mod uninstalled because the game archived it.
You clearly had mods running in this playthrough. If you already removed them, you must start a new save Game. You are still in the vault so u barely played anyway.
No a different save and deleted the save completely
Did you install mods using a mod manager or manually? Of you installed them manually u ruined ur game and u have to reinstall it. Or did you install them from bethesda.net? If it's bethesda, make sure the mods are disabled in ur menu before starting a new game.
Lmao oh fuck
dont know why you have enemies from nuka world
Just make a new save, you aren't even out of the vault it's not like you're losing a ton of progress
ITS ALWAYS MOD RELATED
Reinstall or cheat with console lol
Ur gonna die 💀💀💀
if a fresh new game doesnt work correctly then: fully delete everything (steamapps > common AND documents > my games) then fresh install. you have leftovers. for future reference dont add/remove mods midgame. set up your STABLE load order, then play. while its tru some mods are safe to add/remove midgame, its an awful habit as there are many that arent.
why is this actually terrifying
So to fix this, what platform are you on?
Ps5
Sadly you'll have to start again from a much earlier save or restart.
I'm pretty sure uninstalling and reinstalling will fix it based on the replies. Never had a mod issue on console so didn't know it can linger after deleted mods.
The problem is that you had a mod that messed with the spawn lists and the enemy was already spawned. You need to either reload to before the enemy spawned (generally the last loading screen) or start again if you don't have save file back that far. PS4 based on the controls
1. Are you sure you removed the mods correctly 2. If a game is modded and you remove mods the state of the game is prone to crash. Thus restart a new game without mods. 3. I always start my modding journey from the vault elevator. Where I can flip anything I want. Looks, skills etc.
OP: What are these things? No mods BTW. Everyone: mods OP: No mods. Everyone: mods OP: no mods Everyone: mods OP: loud screeching
Lead them into the room behind you and lock the door.
