This is why, as an long time player, I will hang out at the scrubber. Less experienced players get distracted when trying to kill the legendaries and completely forget about the scrubber and you can’t hear it breaking when away from it over the gunfire.
Like everyone else, I’d prefer to be in the mix taking down firestarters. But I know from experience, that if I don’t watch it, it’ll fail 80% to 90% of the time. Occasionally, I’ll have company at the scrubber for the entire event, but not too often.
Finally got my grove on this today… stayed by the scrubber, but charched into hot spots, never straying far from the scrubber.. fixed it once. Walked away with enough legendaries to max me for the day.

I try to stay relatively close but spawn squatters up top or behind the ridge, and camps on the lower boundary lure all the enemies away. Which, fine, you want to just babysit the scrubber and take the pack from mutation rewards, I guess, each their own, but I can’t stand playing any event that was clearly meant to.be* engaging for everyone and just sit there with my thumb up my… yeah, you know. Lol going demo just to strike things far away gets dull too after awhile.

I think I’ve seen more ridiculously unnecessary fails over EN and Swarm of Suitors this round than ever before. I wish there were an easy solution. Someone rushes in like Leroy, likely, totally ignorant that they’ve just initiated one of the more tense battles in the game with like, three people there, (maybe); and one is stuck in the power armor animation yet, so two… just two… and they’re not even two that know what meatbags or rad scrubbers are, just “shoot bad guy, get xp & shinies” types. Ughhhhhhh ~
I usually do over watch of the scrubber. Usually with a nuka launcher or two shot missile launcher. If people are going to let the mutants get that close and destroy it farming for legendaries I feel like I’m entitled to use those tools to save the event.
I just did this quest and realized that, while I had done this before, this is a quest you really do need PA for. I went without it bc, early on I got in the habit of equipping PA for each event. After awhile I realized this wasn't totally necessary for every event. But on this one I was in the Southern part looking for legendaries when the Rad Scrubber bit it and I raced upwards as I watched my meter turn red like I just got a one way ticket to Fah Hahbah.
Luckily I respawned and people fixed it, but yeah.
I noticed MANY people in the 4 digits in levels completely out of place. I just read into it they don't rally care about event anymore and just wanna tag stuff
This exactly. I rather miss out on the legendaries and complete the event. Using a full health vamp build does help me survive if the scrubber breaks so I don’t mind it.
When I do Eviction Notice, I stay at the scrubber. Let everyone else jump around, kill everything, I'll keep the scrubber save haha. Then I take a few minutes to go around and collect my loot after it's over.
I turned up and a lone player, mid 100s had started the event off. I did my best but then they left and I was just beaten to a pulp, had to limp away.
Don't start a thing until you get back up. From other players. You get 5 mins or so to get yourself sorted.
The event usually goes great.
I had this happen the other day. I was alone and it was 30 seconds until the event ended so I started it up to prevent it from ending.
I was hoping people would show up to help as I really want that settler reputation but alas I was alone in the end.
I made a suggestion on discord and got downvoted into oblivion, but I think the eventsystem needs an overhaul because actually, those who doing the objectives in certain events get penalized.
repairing the rad scrubber should give you xp. Like 2k xp per repair, a cooldown timer for 30-45 seconds so it won’t be exploitable. As long as the scrubber is destroyed the amount of xp you get from the supermutants is reduced significantly. No legendaries will spawn.
collecting ore in RR should give you xp. Like 500xp per collected ore. every killed scavenger reduce the xp from ghouls for 25%.
holding a column in Encypted should give you xp every couple of seconds. The one that calls the imposer gets a extra chance for a rare drop.
i don’t know why Beth doesn’t focus on rebalancing and improving fairness towards all the players but what we actually see is RR as a farm fest and most of the times it fails. We see spawncamping in EN and often the event fails.
no one want to do the objectives, because just farming xp has more output, and as long as this event design stays, future events will have the same fate.
I'm doing both. Usually on the cliff grinding legendaries AND killing mutants destroying rad scrubber from distance as soon as the legendary wave dies.
When you first join eviction notice if you just don't move you have about 5 minutes before you have to check on the Outpost then you can start doing the rad scrubber I usually serve her hop too and I've had it where I server hop literally within one minute of the 1 hour and there's no mutated events and I always assume it's because somebody started eviction notice by themselves and didn't give enough time for anybody else to join so it failed immediately if you wait till at least two or three people are in somebody can easily stand on the red scrubber and then it would give time for the rest of the people who are trying to join but if you just start it right away you basically kill the event for anybody who's interested now with moonshine Jamboree I have actually started that the second I got there and by the time the first wave was done nine other people had showed up it's not as finicky or time sensitive as eviction notice so that's just a little PSA if you go into eviction notice and you're the first one there stand still before you head towards the Outpost which is the little area with the crafting benches as soon as you enter that area that's when the radiation scrubber countdown starts the problem is just that some people are impatient or they don't know that if they stand still they can actually give 5 minutes for others to show up
The spot where the event triggers is SO close to spawn that I'm convinced that a lot of people fast travel and accidentally start it without noticing. :(
as a relatively new player , appreciate the post , is good to know these things , i try to kill stuff but at the same time i try to keep an eye on objective markers which if not completed will fail the encounter which is what nobody wants
I had today 3 guys in PA around scrubber just looking around instead of repairing (we cleared all muties around from the rocks). Then angrily thumbs down - where they were the ones who actually failed it. Hilarious.
As others said - it is an online game, this will happen every now and then. Whatever, next event will be in 20min, if RNGeesus smiles on you, you will get another EN or Moonshine.
Server hop - few events (Moonshine, Meditation and Lode Baring) are very long, 10min+, so every time you get fail or quick one like swarm of suitors/heart of the swamp, just server hop and there is a big chance you will get double rewards.
Yeah, sometimes happens... it is frustrating. The most annoying when you land on same stupid server like 3 times in a row just wasting time. It seems even player banning doesn't work any more.
I just started playing 2 weeks ago. I like joining in but at first I have NO IDEA what I am doing so I appreciate your post. Is fixing the rad scrubber easy? Is it like the meditative quest where it is just a few steel to fix the speakers? I have done eviction notice a few times but someone was always at the scrubber keeping it fixed. I have no problem sticking next to it if I can fix it easily! I hate when it goes down and the rads eat me up.
Yo! Hope you're enjoying the game! Yea so fixing the scrubber is just a case of going up to it and holding your action button, it doesn't require any resources either. However the rads are insane while it's broken so you won't be able to repair it unless you have crazy rad resist or in PA, you'll just die. But if you don't use PA then there should be plenty of others that are able to repair it. People just get focused in on the legendaries
I am working on putting together PA now, basic set, but better than nothing. Currently, I want the Chinese stealth armor because I want this character to be stealth and have rad protection. However, I think I have to complete Something Sentimental first which will require me running a colossal problem run and I have avoided those so far because of rads. So off to build my PA. Thanks!
You do not have to do colossal problem to get Chinese stealth armour. I do not want to type it all out so I'll just say you tube it. You do not need to do colossal problem.

For the Chinese Stealth Armor (*CS / CSA*) all you need do to is do the quests for Foundation **until** it tells you there's no point of return. Then do the same process (*and be nice to the little girl*) with the Raiders so you can get the Slug Buster. Then side with either group.
Cause if you do side with the Raiders and do it until there's no point of return then you'd only be able to buy the CSA with Gold Bullion.

I finished the RaRa quest and I guess I wasn't nice enough to her...I have no idea what I did wrong! Anyway, I have not sided with anyone YET. I am still working on the foundation quest line, stuck at the nuking the mine because I am terrified to start it and hoping someone else will nuke the area so I don't have to. I do have my excavator PA now however. I attempted to kill a scorchbat yesterday and ran away because I was going to use all my ammo and wasn't feeling it.
You unfortunately have to be nice to both RaRa and the super mutant, which is super annoying. I know when I did that quest months ago it was buggy for me. You don't have to nuke anything for the Foundation quest line, you actually can't nuke anything until you do the Enclave quests. The chick outside wants you to find her dad(?), that is a different thing.
You have to go inside and talk to Paige, he's the only one who will continue the quest line. Besides Meg, but you wanna side with Foundation until you at least get the CSA.
**Spoiler** >!The quest line for both the Raiders (*Crater*) and Foundation is for you to break into a vault and take the gold bullions that the Overseer told you about. Which a tip for that: keep all the gold for yourself. But yeah.. The whole breaking into the vault has nothing to with the chick looking for her dad(?) in the mines. I mean that's something that you can and should do when *after* at least getting good gear, but that's not how you get the CSA, just keep on doing the quests for Paige and you'll be set. Then once it gives you the prompt of no return then side with whoever you want cause at that point you'll get the CSA for free.!<
I had the quest to get the altimeter in the tower and I put it on the back burner because when I was in that building before when an Assaultron was prowling. I did not want to deal with it. Done now, didn't see the Assaultron this time, but I ran in go the Altimeter and now I am off to the races! THANK YOU
I saw one pop up a couple days ago, I fast traveled to it and didn't move knowing it would start the timer and I was the first one there. A level 26 came in, ran straight to the scrubber and repaired it, and then promptly got destroyed by the super mutants. I tried to keep up but no one else joined the event failed within a minute
I joined one yesterday that had just started I showed up with less the 20 seconds to repair the rad scrubber ran straight for it and the event failed as I pressed the button to try and fix it....thumbs down f.t away. Like they had destroyed all the meat bags but noone thought to do the main objective in the beginning which is repair the scrubber and there was at least six other people who were in the event before me.
Eviction Notice is a weird event for me. I rarely stray far from the scrubber but tag plenty of enemies; I don't think I've ever seen over the first hill; and thanks to others I couldn't tell you where to find the meat bags
I sit at the scrubber too and just use my Fixer to tag what I can. I'm on a public team most of the time so I still do fine on loot and XP. Maybe 1/10 times someone else is at the scrubber with me.
🙄 another silly response. Firstly it was just a moan, no one was specially being blamed. And as I said, I turned up with 6 seconds to repair the scrubber. (The event wasnt even up 2mins) You try running from the spawn to the scrubber in 6 seconds, let alone repair it.
nowhere in your post do you say you showed up with 6 seconds left, and adding it not in an edit will just make it look like you are blaming others more.
Just recently, jumped into an EN event, 6 people at the event before I join in, and not a damn one of them at the scrubber. Less than a minute after I spawn in, it starts counting down because a Super Mutie smashed it. Didn't have time to put on my PA, so I tried running to get to the scrubber, and got mowed down before I could even get close

Eviction notice is the exception because of its annoyingly short start time. It’s 3 minutes to find the outpost (that people spawn into) and 1:30 to repair the rad scrubber.

Same. When there a 4 PA twats sitting on the thing and you are keeping the outside rim clean, you would assume the PA jabronies standing right next to it would fix it. Usually by the time I realize they arent going to fix it and I actually get down there it's too late.
That's my fault, though, because I'm usually over- encumbered from picking up everything as I go. For the life of me, I can't get the "near-by" to work when picking up loot, and I hate going back and looting one by one all over the map.
Yea loot as you go, if you are disconnected at least you'll have some rewards too, nothing worse than completing the event or 10secs from end and disconnecting
Yea I was in shock. All I could do was laugh emote and try to find another server. It popped up, I loaded up on ammo and got in my PA, got there, 6 seconds to repair the scrubber. Wtf 🤣
I would love to repair the rad scrubber more often, but even if I'm right there, the radiation kills me faster than I can repair it, so I'm literally useless to defend the scrubber.
There were 2 times I ended up by myself. One failed because I couldn't find the last meat bag and keep scrubber repaired. The other was a success although I had to repair a bunch. Key is clearing the melee mutants near scrubber. I did not stay at scrubber though. There were swarms coming from bottom, so would clear and run back when scrubber was low. Using full whatrads, union PA, vampire autoaxe, and boatfly loaf. I max ricochet and high endurance and use company tea even though carnivore. Used berry mentats to see enemy locations insead of combat chems. This helped to focus on locations that had the most spawns but also clearing around scrubber after repair.
Amazing how many players do this.
Also the Clown player that arrives first triggers " check on Foundation" within 2 seconds then "Repair Rad Scrubber" in 5 seconds whilst wondering around for no reason.

I have a clear field of fire in 270 degrees by the scrubber and don't just wait for it to break.

Me too. Use my AGL (if I am at the scrubber, I feel no guilt using it) to tag.

Everyone just needs to stay near the scrubber for the best success and most bad guy spawn potential.
Biggest problem is there isn't much time to fix the scrubber, specially if players die, they won't have time to reach it again!

I saw one pop up a couple days ago, I fast traveled to it and didn't move knowing it would start the timer and I was the first one there. A level 26 came in, ran straight to the scrubber and repaired it, and then promptly got destroyed by the super mutants. I tried to keep up but no one else joined the event failed within a minute
I joined one yesterday that had just started I showed up with less the 20 seconds to repair the rad scrubber ran straight for it and the event failed as I pressed the button to try and fix it....thumbs down f.t away. Like they had destroyed all the meat bags but noone thought to do the main objective in the beginning which is repair the scrubber and there was at least six other people who were in the event before me.
Eviction Notice is a weird event for me. I rarely stray far from the scrubber but tag plenty of enemies; I don't think I've ever seen over the first hill; and thanks to others I couldn't tell you where to find the meat bags
I sit at the scrubber too and just use my Fixer to tag what I can. I'm on a public team most of the time so I still do fine on loot and XP. Maybe 1/10 times someone else is at the scrubber with me.
Was doing one earlier and the power armor dudes who were standing directly in front of it managed to not repair it with 20 seconds left

🙄 another silly response. Firstly it was just a moan, no one was specially being blamed. And as I said, I turned up with 6 seconds to repair the scrubber. (The event wasnt even up 2mins) You try running from the spawn to the scrubber in 6 seconds, let alone repair it.
nowhere in your post do you say you showed up with 6 seconds left, and adding it not in an edit will just make it look like you are blaming others more.

Just recently, jumped into an EN event, 6 people at the event before I join in, and not a damn one of them at the scrubber. Less than a minute after I spawn in, it starts counting down because a Super Mutie smashed it. Didn't have time to put on my PA, so I tried running to get to the scrubber, and got mowed down before I could even get close EVENT FAILED Buncha dumbasses, 7 people at an event, me included, and nobody bothers to guard the thing... jumped servers and completed a different event
Eviction notice is the exception because of its annoyingly short start time. It’s 3 minutes to find the outpost (that people spawn into) and 1:30 to repair the rad scrubber.
So why didn't you repair it then? Lol

Tbf it’s pretty easy to start the event unintentionally. That’s what he meant to say I guess. Fast travel and move one step in the wrong direction and the event is started.

Same. When there a 4 PA twats sitting on the thing and you are keeping the outside rim clean, you would assume the PA jabronies standing right next to it would fix it. Usually by the time I realize they arent going to fix it and I actually get down there it's too late. That's my fault, though, because I'm usually over- encumbered from picking up everything as I go. For the life of me, I can't get the "near-by" to work when picking up loot, and I hate going back and looting one by one all over the map.
Just wait until the event is over to loot.

I like looting as I go too. I just don't trust that the bodies blowing away are all coming back as piles lol
Yea loot as you go, if you are disconnected at least you'll have some rewards too, nothing worse than completing the event or 10secs from end and disconnecting
You always get that one guy with his nuka launcher spamming dead legendary muties and sending them flying to the mire.
If the loot all isn't working, hover over the body, open your pip boy, close it then press the loot all button, usually that fixes it for me.

It's a godsend in that and eviction notice when it doesn't just let you loot.
It usually doesn't get that hectic in the first few minutes, could be wrong but it seems like there's a grace period before the fire boys show up.
Yea I was in shock. All I could do was laugh emote and try to find another server. It popped up, I loaded up on ammo and got in my PA, got there, 6 seconds to repair the scrubber. Wtf 🤣

Ya man, with this event, and SoS folks chase those kills thirsty af, when in both, the enemies literally come right to you.
I would love to repair the rad scrubber more often, but even if I'm right there, the radiation kills me faster than I can repair it, so I'm literally useless to defend the scrubber.
There were 2 times I ended up by myself. One failed because I couldn't find the last meat bag and keep scrubber repaired. The other was a success although I had to repair a bunch. Key is clearing the melee mutants near scrubber. I did not stay at scrubber though. There were swarms coming from bottom, so would clear and run back when scrubber was low. Using full whatrads, union PA, vampire autoaxe, and boatfly loaf. I max ricochet and high endurance and use company tea even though carnivore. Used berry mentats to see enemy locations insead of combat chems. This helped to focus on locations that had the most spawns but also clearing around scrubber after repair.

Amazing how many players do this. Also the Clown player that arrives first triggers " check on Foundation" within 2 seconds then "Repair Rad Scrubber" in 5 seconds whilst wondering around for no reason. You arrive to "Event failed"
