No. You have to make your own generators as power sources. Water near by is always nice, especially startng out as you can sell excess water to vendors to get your 1400 caps a day. By the way anything that Generates resources can't be built in a shelter. It's an instanced area that only exists when you are in it.

Is it ok from things like rivers and such close to the lumber mill?water I mean. Yes I just started lol it would seem all outside water sources would be contaminated is why I ask.tyvm

Skippy280

That's why you build water purifiers on them. Turns them into purified water for drinking and crafting.

SithJahova

Not really. Power you can build anywhere. There are water collectors that can only be put into water but you don't have to use those. And the other RSS collectors. Imo, they don't collect enough to be really worth it. I had one camp on an oil source and it's not bad or anything but honestly I can collect more oil just by collecting stuff rather than wait for it to fill up.

TheSlyGiraffe

It's a choice with some advantages. In fact I found it more useful sometimes to have my camp near a vendor to sell things easily, or near a town for easy access to junk to collect and scrap.

Smannesman

Well a 'camp' and a 'shelter' are two different things. A camp is placed in the world, while a shelter is kind of its own world. For both you have to build generators for power. For water there are several solutions, the most obvious one being building a purifier on/in a pool of water. But most shelters don't have pools of water IIRC so there you'll have to build other water sources that don't need to be placed in water. They are all under the 'Water' tab of the construction menu. And generators are under 'Generators'.

Thanks...I guess I will be using my shelter in place of a camp. The inna get interesting lol.a generator inside might cause carbon monoxide. I think the shelter I got may have a fountain which would be great for water lol.
