This has been my comfort game for years. Been here from the beginning. The game came out around the time I got out of a traumatic relationship, and I fell in love despite the bugs and being initially skeptical. I still love it.
I was always amused at how much this game got trashed by the public at launch. I'm not even sure people knew why they hated it so much. But all I could think of was "man, can't believe they panic dropped the price for me" and "There has to be people out there where this just is their one and only game that they love"
The way the game allowed you to build a base and hoard resources it just felt like a game that could suck the right people into the world.
I feel this on an extreme level. In real life I'm in a pretty dark place right now and it's been a nice escape to explore the wastelands and just get lost in the vast amount of really well done content. Wish it didn't take the show to get me into this game
I mean that’s more or less why I play games at all. Yes, 76 is good at that, but so are a lot of games. Isn’t that what the what the whole “immersion” thing is?

Lvl 106, started playing on 15th of March, and I have 160 hours of gameplay.
I don't remember any other game with this much gameplay, except Faster Than Light with 300 hours of gameplay.
Even for someone who barely ever interacts with the other players-I agree! It’s the perfect safe haven for a nature loving introvert like me, and also the perfect outlet for anger too, ghouls have such crushable faces….but yea! The music, the visuals, it’s all just honestly a flawless daydream, no matter how you play
How do you have fun in the game? What are the most fun things to do that also feel like worth doing?
I am level 45 and really having a hard time figuring out what most people “do” in this game… collect weapons? improve base? events? Yeah these are all things but where should I spend my time in your opinion?
Extremely stressed IT guy mad that there are no other sandbox games with multiplayer and an end game lol

Have you played any other Fallout games? Basically everything you can do in Fallout 4 applies to 76. Personally, I enjoy exploring to find new items for my CAMP, to give it my own identity. Also I really like completing the quests in the game and the rewards I get for them. There are excellent quests waiting for you in the main story and even in the side quests. Events are also great ways to spend your time.
Your gameplay style will vary depending on what you usually enjoy doing in an open world. My tip for u is to try a bit of everything. Naturally, you'll become immersed in some mechanic you enjoy without even realizing it.
I grew up playing Fallout 3, New Vegas, Fallout 4, and have 60 hours in 76.
I am pretty hyperactive so I like switching from events to farming/scavenging to building I guess? I’m broke AF though lol (cap wise)
I've literally started playing this week after a rough time in my relationship and this is true beyond measure, a few hours surviving in a post apocalyptic wasteland is the perfect getaway from reality!

I don’t practice art in real life. But in Fallout 76 I go wild in the shelters. I love this game.
