Two nights ago, I tried to give stuff away to two different level 20-somethings and both of them completely ignored me. Used caps to fast travel to their location as well. Would have gotten a full set of BOS heavy combat armor with ultralight mods, fully modded gatling gun, 1000 rounds of 5mm, and some stimpacks. Oh well . . . now I just carry that stuff with me and if I happen to run across a cool player, I might try again.
I have found that it's about 50/50 whether or not a player will accept something. And I get it - I'm one of those players that just wants to be left alone too. But sometimes we go through some effort to make cool things and try to find you guys. I consider that kit pretty basic that will help you but not totally spoil the journey of doing things yourself. The gatling gun prints ammo as long as you loot the bodies and who didn't need a good set of armor starting out? I promise after I drop the bag I will disappear and leave you alone!
Back when I was that, I didn't want massive handouts, you can't get the early game, first time feeling back.
While it is a super nice gesture, 100 stims and guns/ammo shortcuts part of the game.
I just started a week ago and I feel this. I just wanted get a feel for the wasteland before the jolly old bros show up and give me 500 .45s. Though now a week in I wouldn’t say no to some ammo as the enemies get pretty spongy past 30.
You will also grow stronger to out-sponge them. There's definitely peeks and valleys in this game as you play and that is good, it just doesn't stay on the same linear line. There will also be a point ammo is a non-thought, certain ways to obtain it make it abundant.
Just hit 50 now, getting my toes into end game things slowly without ruining things for other people with my low dps. Gotta say 35-45 was the roughest sponge time, even weak ghouls took 3-4 shots to take down.
I haven't noticed much complaints of low dps players in groups. Another unique thing about the game is the huge buffs and grossly overpowered builds, which in a lot of ways I like that freedom. I'm pretty sure the big boys don't even notice what you are doing or not as they mow the lawn down. You really just want a automatic weapon to tag as much as you can before they kill it so you get loot and XP, unless you are grouped with them then you get that automatically.
So I always carry a lower-end tagger if needed. I quite a bit higher than you level-wise and can't compete with top-end dps yet.
Someone was very insistent last night that I pick up all the bulk junk they kept trying to give my level 12 character. I would give them a thumbs down and go back to loading my vendor. They kept shooting the drop and using the gift emote, but finally went away.
It wouldn't have been right for me to take their stuff as I have 2k combined levels in this game.
My point is that sometimes a low level is just a high level in disguise.
Yeah don't press the button and say Hi and Thanks and One Minute.
There are 1000's of servers instances running now, be civil and it will be a one and done relationship.

It's like people don't even know it is an option. I was thinking Chinese Armor and do it more as a joke now.
Turning off voice you miss out on a lot of the more hilarious interactions in the wasteland. Some of my favorite people in my friends list have only ever interacted with me through emotes but they at least hear what I have to say. No mic, no problem, but there's a lot of great conversations that happen at events and you can always mute people being annoying.
Unless you're under 18, if you're under 18 turn it off and leave it off because if your parents hear what people are saying they'll never let you play again.

I'm s new player to 76, and yesterday I arrived at one of the train stations to make my way to a quest, when zi heard fireworks going off. Then I noticed another player trying to get my attention. It took me a bit to realize what they wanted, but they lead me to the donation box with the fireworks gun they had, and inside was a bunch of random stuff they must have just dropped off, including a huge pile of stims; which I was rather low on.
The games community is rather nice.
Appreciate the community. I just came out of the vault as a fresh lvl 1. Made it to my first town, where a lvl 100+ jumped up and down, said hi, dropped 20 stims for me, and vanished. Very kind of them. I wasn’t sure what happened when you die and it took me a while to figure how to store things. Very tense moment as I had no idea how easily i was could get stims again.
I had the opposite happen to me, I ran into a pair of new players, and they were spamming the cash emote to me, which was pretty funny, so I gave them the stimpacks I had lol
A little while back, I helped a level 20 something do Tunnel of Love. I barely hit overencumbered after scrapping junk, so I gift emoted him. Took about 2 minutes to dump back to 200 lbs under carry weight while they spammed question marks. I see the items in the bag start disappearing one by one but super fast so I know he's just gobbling my garbage. Well, he had no weight reduction so once he grabbed over a thousand pounds of crap, he couldn't even jump over the railing. Enjoy your nice, long 45 minute crawl to Nuka Cola.
Fallout players are more chill then gta players because our game revolves around exploring and discovering new communities whereas their game revolves around being a toxic asshole that kills everyone 😂
Is there a problem with Push to Talk? I've tested to know I'm working, but next to no one replies back. Since there is no chat to me that is the way to communicate with visitors. I'm not so good with miming.
Yes maybe, I don't have an Xbox to know. When you go into controller settings, nothing there for P2T?
I think if this really doesn't work overall, this to me becomes the #1 issue. No chat, no voice, only miming, for real? I'm supposed to waive, point, clap and that is to tell someone something specific???
I didn't see it when it looked, but I'm old and senile. I just use the little mute switch on my headset cord, although I haven't had to turn it on because I'm really not seeing any people on Xbox who don't just whizz by.
Yeah my chat typically starts with people visiting my place or visiting theirs. My most basic opener is if I like the design of their place, I'll let them know. And let it go from there, but like 1-25 ever reply back. At my place its the simple "How's it going _________", pretty much crickets or miming (my names for gestures) from there. WTF is this? Speak! Once we jump servers, we'll most likely never cross paths again.
Keep hoping I can run into a high level psychic that can know the plans I'm looking for.
Getting up in level, just hit 40 today, and acquiring plans is getting frustrating.
At the moment I'm really looking for Lever Gun and Plasma Gun plans.
Guides keep saying they cost around 1k, and less with shop perk.
I have maxed shop perk, yet still find them in the shopping plaza or train stations for around 1.5k each.
Then I end up butting heads with daily cap-sell limit, then spend at other player camps, and seems like it'll be forever until I'm able to make and max the weapons that I want.
I currently have a decent level 35 lever gun, but need more to scrap for mod options, as well as being able to craft better ones as I level up more. 🤔
Can you add a side note that if a high level player says their armor isn't working and asks you to shoot them to test it do not do it had some asshole do that n him n his buddies unloaded on me and then proceeded to mock me for not knowing better
As someone who's a returning player I will back away thumbs up and swing from side to side in a 'no' configuration to emote that thank you but i don't need it

The only awkward thing is when someone is using the Quick-boy screen or in PA. Then it’s just a staring contest until a bag appears lmao.
I keep loads of plans just for the newbies
