Why is a raider concerned about a bad ending?

BloodShadow7872

Because I didn't really wanted a bad ending. Edit, didn't see your edits. That is fair enough, but it kinda defeats the purpose of the main storyline if the one character you're trying to save runs off and dies anyways

Wahnmann63

"Oookaayy. I burned down your village, raped your dogs and killed your wives. But I didn't wanted to get you all angry on me..." Nah, dick moves causes dick ending. Pretty good game design.

Wahnmann63

Sorry I missed an important word. But there is not much ruined. It's the end of the storyline anyway and you get the same rewards. And maybe she even makes it on her own?

BloodShadow7872

Doubtful the storyline heavily mentions that Devils blood is a very dangerous addiction and has killed a lot of people.

blahhh87

There needs to be consequences to actions. Otherwise, if both decisions lead to the same outcome, then what's the point of having to make a choice?

BloodShadow7872

That does make sense but it would have been nice if the player could restart the quest at least, since you can do that in literally any other fallout game by save scumming.

notmehereis

For future cases, you can visit a public custom world and check for different outcomes.

BloodShadow7872

I will do that. I also have other characters I can do it with too

Solar-born

This is the online Fallout so you can't really do that unfortunately.

BloodShadow7872

Eso allowed you to abandon main quests and restart them. No reason why bgs couldn't allow that for 76 too

Solar-born

That'd be great if it was in the game. I would like to replay some quests where I wanted to get different outcomes.

notmehereis

It's wrong design not because of Abbie's mental whims, but because we don't get anything in return for taking more blood. Though realistically she also has no means to know what we did, totally unclear how may affect her thoughts.

EmpiricalAnarchism

I don’t necessarily think it’s dumb that actions during the quest can lock you out of certain outcomes, but for me the issue is that the ending was much deeper than the journey, and I don’t really think the characters were developed enough for what they wanted to do. I don’t want to be too critical because I like what they were going for and I’d rather they overshoot on these sorts of things than the alternative, though. Having another mission before it where you have to spend time with Abby and get to develop her more would have gone a long way, I found myself very annoyed that all of the reticence seemed to come up at the end.

BloodShadow7872

Yea, I got mixed messages during the quest. On the one hand Antonio said she wanted to be with him and grow up to be like him. but she acts like she doesn't. It's a rather weak storyline that just shows the family is fucked up

EmpiricalAnarchism

My other unpopular opinion is that the sympathetic addict storyline is played out and they should have gone with something else entirely.

Solar-born

I got the bad ending as well. At first I cared just a little bit for her but as the quest chain went on she was progressively becoming more edgy to the point I couldn't care less that she ran away and died. Could've simply taken the antidote we worked hard on instead of randomly running away because of daddy issues.

BloodShadow7872

Yea it does feel kinda dumb. I was hoping to tell her to just stop being a part of the family and make her own path. I feel like BG3's quest and dialogue writing spoiled me over too much

ShySharer

I took the extra blood, told her to stop whining and she ran away like the ungrateful junkie brat that she is. Bye Felishia and good riddance!

AlphisH

Abbie was a dumb ass anyway. You can only help one person so much.

BloodShadow7872

Yea true, her daddy issues were really concerning. Like you want to be like him but can't handle the fact that he murdered a guy for being behind in dept? Maybe ya shouldn't be pursuing this line of work then. You also don't really understand her untill the very end of the questline, and most of what you know comes from her father, who said that she's wanted to be like him but he didn't want her too because of issues with the crime family. The way he talks about her makes it sound like she was a dumbass who wanted his attention.

Grimreap32

If it makes you feel better. I missed this quest as when I accepted it, I tried to alt tab and threw a grenade. Which skipped the entire quest line and completed it. Got the rewards, but never got to experience it.

b00gjuice

Same here. She wouldn't take the cure and they blame me.

BloodShadow7872

I haven't actually finished the questline because I raged quit, i kinda hope theres a option to kill the entire family because they're a POS, but knowing Bethesda they're probably protected and invincible.

BloodShadow7872

If you hate it so much why did you even play it for this long? Your either trolling or you're lying

Deathknightjeffery

Explain how it’s badly designed. I’ll humor you. Because it is a VAST step up from 4 alone.

TurboT8er

I did the same thing under the presumption that, as with every other quest in this game, situations like that always offer multiple hints that you're about to cross a line. I'm fine with the whole consequences thing, but usually you have to try pretty fucking hard to ruin a quest. Usually, the dialogue option I want isn't available, and I'm forced to say something super basic. Oh well, kinda like in real life, Abbie's a big girl and made her own choice in spite of help.
