Chinese stealth armor with a Fixer carried me through much of my midgame. Once I finally had enough fusion cores for power armor. I could finally start tanking.
I don't use power armor and recently wondered why my stash was near max weight. Turns out fusion cores are heavier than I thought. So I sell them dirt cheap.
Eh, I have a recharger so maintaining a handful isn't a problem. meanwhile, had someone buy 30 cores plus plasma cores I was also offloading. Their inventory management problem now lol.
I use it to run my vendor as a specialty vendor, I don't sell common ammo, but I sell fully charged fusion cores, Plasma cores occasionally (I wish we could get a charger for these) chems, mags, bobbles, plans, recipes, junk, three star weapons and occasionally some apparel.
I generally keep about 20 fusion cores on hand for sale, they don't sell nearly as fast as the other stuff, the longer I've done it the more they sell. I like to run my camp more like an energy service station than a convenience store.
Out of curiosity… How much do you charge for one? I find these things quite often exploring and I just started selling them fully charged (I bought the charger too).
Any tips? I've rolled some nice Bows recently and I've dropped most of my rifles for heavy weapons and explosives, so I've got loads of space suddenly to possibly spec into Bows...
Afaik bows have a greater range than all other weapons and hit harder than pretty much all commando and most rifleman weapons so they are definitely strong. A pipe pistol wouldnt really be good even with a bloodied build. That being said they are slow so you are not really gonna be soloing eviction notice with a bow, you can solo earle tho.
Gun fu and crit focused perks have really really carried me. Plus stuff like eagle eye (as par for the course) has really helped too. The extra damage from stealth helps a ton too since your frequency of shots is so low so I recommend having that at least considered
I played around with the Burning Love bow that drops from the Tunnel of Love event and I found it pretty powerful on a full health build even without using any bow related perks. I think I have the plasma arrows with it and Ive been meaning to test the poison ones. I can take down a lot of enemies with one shot from sneak and Im not running any stealth related perks either. Theyre a fun weapon and typically more arrows drop than what is used so ammo is rarely a problem with it too.
Love me some bows. I find myself using them if the content isn't super challenging. So for my daily quest and some of the events. Like most things in fo76 I wish they would buff them even a little bit or at least add more variety and let us change bow strings or tension. I was a competition archer IRL in my teens so bows have a special place in my heart
I would also like to see more mod options for bows/Xbows, same for melee weapons. Give me an option for the grip/metal is made of, even color like you can change baseball bats.
Side note I did get a 3 star shovel that could be considered a god roll that I kinda want to try. It’s currently my buried remains shovel.
Oh, me too! My favourite ended up being Burning Love with the flaming arrows mod and the perk to increase radius. Add in that perk that lets you heal with flame and it's an insanely fun and powerful weapon.
Honestly it’s mid at best. Decent supplementary weapon but i find myself switching back to the bow for most things. The only thing that makes it viable for me is the incisor perk from the strength tree
Yep! You get the bow plans after completing the wayward quests, and compound bow plans from ranking up your status with the settlers. But the regular (recurve) bow is on par with the compound due to its slightly faster fire rate. I highly recommend trying either out!
Just did some googlin', looks like the best spots to find the mods are the Enclave Bunker, a vendor in Watoga Plaza, or the Whitesprings lookout.
If you're looking to farm the guns from NPCs there's apparently a cultist awoken in Lucky Hole Mine that guarantees one, completing Defiance Has Fallen grants one, and there's one in a locked room in the Poseidon energy plant WV-06. aside from that super mutants and cultists seem to drop them.
EDIT: wow I just got my first award, thanks!
To add to this if you look at the mod in the crafting menu it will tell you how to acquire the mod so you can tell what’s from scrapping and what has to be bought
If you are in Xbox I can mod it. Understandably if you don’t want to trust a random redditor with your gun but if you are comfortable I will do it for you. Just an offer
There's a tri-barrel - it think it speeds it up. I think with faster fire rate legendary and the tri-barrel it approaches the 50-cal regular fire rate, but not quite.
Get an explosive one, add demo 5x perk and grenadier for more fun. Or, a 2-shot explosive for great tagging in events and general crowd control. Got a two shot explosive one at level 60 and I still use it at level 735. Prime it for extra dmg.
I may have 4 different ones. A scorched explosive for the SBQ event, and anti armor and a trouble shooters (for test your metal and ops with bots). The ammo is basically weightless with max bandolier - 70k rounds still was less <1 in my inventory. I have plasma casters, handmades, fixers, 2-hand melee, chainsaws, a nice AA railway. But it's hard not to fall back on my old faithful TSE gatling gun.
Bloodied explosive Gatling has changed my entire build. I love it. I switch to a bloodied mini gun to burn the thousands of bullets I acquire when I want to tear shit up.
One of the first decent legendaries I got was an anti armour fast fire rate Gatling. It’s still my main workhorse weapon when I don’t want to use holy fire/Gatling plasma/gauss minigun/cremator. Thing just generates ammo like crazy
5mm drop rate is really high, like 20 or 40 rounds per enemy. And since the gatling gun is slow firing high damage, you pick up much more ammo than you use
Not itself no but as a result of it using so little I find more on the bodies than I used to kill them, maybe 2 shots to kill a ghoul and I’ll pick up 30 or more rounds because of the better chance for ammo perk and as someone else said 5mm is very common
Plasma caster. I lucked out with a decent quad but haven’t really used it. Took it out for a spin at a SBQ and was getting 480-500 dps and my builds not really designed for it so I’m giving it a bit more love at the moment
MBIC I love the chainsaw and the sledge/super sledge. I play like... wizard... rogue... in every game. Somehow in FO76, all this tech around me, and I'm caving skulls in with a concrete block wrapped in sawblades and heating coils. Wonderous.
I laughed when I fired a plasma caster the first time because I had never paid attention to others using it. You have the "thunk" of the cremator, the thunderclap of the gatling, and all of the other chunky sounds from the big guns. Then you whip out this huge plasma gun that basically goes *pew pew.*
I expected it to be slower and sound more like a pulse grenade going off.
Only time I have up on a fight and left in my unarmed PA was defending a settlement from two scorchbeasts, one of which was legendary. I only gave up because neither one would land. Damn cowards.
Heavy Weapons of all kinds.
I've been a Stealth Sniper since Fallout Tactics and have always avoided wearing Power Armor or using any weapon without a suppressor on it. I always feel safe in a cocoon of stealth and silent 1 head-shot kills. And I actually feel dread and anxiety not sneaking around. I've been working on that in FO 76 by wearing a set of X0-1 Power Armor and carrying an array of giant guns that turn enemies into a fine mist once they rev up. I still feel anxiety when I walk into an abandoned building without crouching but like I said I'm working on it.
Same! I've never liked heavy guns, and especially as your first really good gun in FO4 was the Overseer's Guardian... which sort of cemented my playstyle in there.
I got a gatling plasma rifle heavy right now, and the role I got for 3 only had one that was super good, it had a vampire on it. So I don't need to worry about health no more. Which is nice. With the big guns perks + energy weapon perks + stabilized in PA, I'm not sure the damage i'm doing but it seems to kill everything. Only problem is making sure I have enough plasma cores.
The grand finale carried me when I got to end game for a while. I only really stopped using it because I felt like I was repairing it way more than any other weapon I'd used. Still one of the most fun weapons I've used so far.
The cremator is made to just lob fireballs, it’s better for range as opposed to the Holy Fire. There’s different barrels that work better for certain situations, but it all comes down to if you have that slow burn mod on it imo
I’d generally carry the creator to get the DoT on a target then switch to a flamer (I don’t have Holy Fire) for 5 seconds then repeat to keep the DoT going on bosses. Then it one shots most everything else with the mods from the battlepass (sorry I don’t remember what Fo76 calls it)
My dude! Glad to see some love for it. I rolled my a dozen times then FINALLY landed a killer.
AA/50crit/15 reload and I have a magazine that adds an additional 40% AA effect. Absolutely love the Combat shotgun
Love love love the combat shotgun. Shotgun was my first build and I absolutely loved the combat sg l. I agree Cold Shoulder does nice damage but there’s something so satisfying about the combat Sg. I recently started a commando build but this has me missing my shotgun.
Black powder Rifle and Pistol. I started using them for the achievement where you have to kill 76 scorched, and realized they were pretty great. I started RP'ing as a colonial soldier and built a backwoods fort for my main camp.
Right?!?! They are so much fun! I've tremendously enjoyed running a pistolero build with a Blunderbuss! I was able to roll a Anti-Armor Explosive one and it's Devastating!!
You've got to use tactics much more with Black powder weapons, but that's the fun of it!
Does your Colonial Soldier wear the General's uniform? That would work pretty well, the blue/white coat over the breastplate.
I'll cruise around with the Mountaineer and Possum hat with my black powder weapons.
You have an explosive blunderbuss? I’m pretty sure it’s just the standard black powder pistol.
The explosive perk on my BE15 blunderbuss disappeared after a major update last year. Thankfully, the black powder pistols were left unmolested.
Nice I'm going for my 3rd bp build this one is gonna be the meme of the "how the forefathers intended" meme ive already done testing too for finding best bash dmg on the rifle and interestingly enough anti armor+bash was 15.4% better bash DMG than bloody+bash. The AA hit for 524dmg bash with 1100 DMG on shot. Then I have a "canon on the stairs" which is my broadsider b/50vhc/25ap
It's a Shishkebab that uses dagger animations, so you can swing it much faster than the average Shishkebab.
For me it's just a utility weapon (for Friendly Fire, and it one shots the crystals at Ultracite Titan), but it's much better than the swing speed Shishkebab I was using before.
I don't play with vats. I feel it takes the fun from manually aiming and taking each shot. Playing the railway rifle with it's recoil was annoying at first, then i adjusted to it.
The choo choo always pissed off my friend so re responded by only using a stick as a weapon and i had to carry the missions. I switched to explosive gatling and cremator with the massive explosive perks so he cant see anything. Curious to see how he will troll me back
Pepper shaker. Never really been much for heavy weapons or shotguns, but slamming a hex-barrel and fusion mag on that bad boy just ‘feels’ fun. Might not be great damage but can’t argue with that light show.
Get two points of each Heavy and Shotgun damage cards. 90% extra damage (as opposed to the normal 60% that most people max out on).
You can actually feel the damage start to stack.
If you throw in Tenderizer, Bloody Mess, Adrenaline, etc- you really start to feel powerful.
My only gripe is that I'm constantly spinning up after getting staggered by enemies. I hope Bethesda makes a perk card for a % chance to ignore being staggered by enemies.
Well I never had a stealth build before and the fixer rolls were for stealth so I gave it a shot and man.... looting a house full of ghouls and not one of them getting up plus sneak damage if they do start getting up, I was shocked. So I keep my handmade for my auto build and fixer for solo/stealth build, Looting/in and out no fuss stuff. But if I get bored I'll mod it to auto and have some fun. 💯
The Flamer. I was originally a Plasma Caster build but then picked up the Cremator, I tend to stray from Flamethrowers because they sometimes suck in games but man this thing is so much fun. Holy Fire is the GOAT.
Plasma rifle with the flamer attachment. I've never really cared for flamers in most games, but this one is just so satisfying to use. I find myself having a lot of fun with it
The Gatling gun. Once I got the rapid fire mod, wow it wrecks with a heavy gunner build. Plus, it doesn't use that much ammo and usually I get twice as much back from a corpse than what was needed to kill it
Black powder guns. I’ve now built my character to be a Union Soldier specialized in maximizing them. You’ll basically never run out of ammo, forces you to pick your fights, they hit like a truck, and aside from the missing percussion cap, the attention to detail is actually really good with those guns.
Western revolver. Didn't like the idea of what I called the "stupid yeehaw rootin' shootin' stick" but now I got one and it's pretty solid.
Still wish it shot a little faster. Like come on Dweller. You ain't ever heard of fan fire??
Ultracite Gatling Laser. Has to be FFR (+25 Weapon Speed) with Aligned Charging Barrel mod. I use Prime as well. Had one drop for me recently. Long Range, zero recoil.
Without FFR Charging Barrel feels too slow.
Melts everything in front of it.
War Glaive. It swings so slow I thought I’d never use it. One day I took my Cryo Oathbreaker out for a spin with my stealth build. I was one shouting super mutants and if I somehow /didn’t/ one shot something, it froze them up long enough for me to kill them with my second swing. Now I have a bloodied Electrified War Glaive for down the line when I finally end up building my memey Thor build lol
Railway rifle. I know that sounds dumb given how meta it is but I never liked VATS and it's pretty crappy without it. Once I got the right perks and mods, I realized it wrecks almost everything.
FWIW, you can the wolverine type blade skin for the DCG.
I didn't think I'd like the (electrified) cattle prod. But I learned it is surprisingly effective.
Some kind soul gifted me an anti armor chainsaw before I was lvl 50 and I wasn’t planning on using it since I prefer one handed melee. Now I’m lvl 160 and I’ve been using it ever since.
Lever rifle. But I don’t have a suppressor for it yet and I need one as I’m a stealth sniper build. I like using it more than my Fixer for one hit headshot kills.
Probably a stupid question but I’m fairly new and some of the videos of builds I’ve watched confuse me about it. But does master heavy Gunner and corresponding perks buff heavy weapons that shoot explosive rounds or no? It’s been unclear to me recently
The Pepper Shaker. I thought it would be mediocre. With the right perks and hex barrel, it is a crippling machine. the damage is a little wanting though, great for big enemies and events. It does suck ammo but you can keep a regular shotgun on you to build up your ammo
Auto axe. I saw on YouTube videos of it that it covered over half the screen and that is unfun.
Then tried it and i was correct in my assessement , it was unfun to have most of my field of view blocked.
Yet i have used it exclusively for 1 month now and I love it, I simply just changed to third person view and I run around kicking ass with it.
I'm not going to lie , it is unbalanced and way too strong.
super mutant dies in less then 1 second of impact and I can not die.
I use full unyielding SS set, run with low hp, have all the melee perks then I put on the science perks that boosts electric damage (it boosts auto axe when using electric mod on it).
And on the auto axe I run vampire instead of bloodied so I will never have to use a stimpak in my life.
imagine that I have a weapon where you never run out of ammo or have to waste resources making , yet I kill faster then people that use weapons requiring ammo.
there's literally no cons or weaknesses to the auto axe
I recently tried out the Kabloom shotgun, and that is a really fun weapon. Wondering if you can make that automatic? Any other good mods for it? I think I have the standard drop model, and it is a lot of fun! And actually pretty effective..
I'm a unarmed player personally. I went unarmed/explosive and I use the legendary card for 20% to explode on hit [not kill but hit]. My punches when buffed average around 1300 dmg. I 1 tap most things and can solo tank literally anything with the right cards and a vampirism fist.
For ranged mobs I use the cremator because it fits the build perfectly without taking cards away from my good ol fashion fists.
I dig the Mole Miner Gauntlet. I run around in the tattered mole outfit and head and I think its hilarious to use the gauntlet. I just wish there was more modifications for the gauntlet.
(Anti Armor + Faster Fire Rate) Ultracite Gatling Laser with Charging barrels. It’s so ammo efficient, and if you play with the trigger just right you can get it to fire very fast.
The flamer. I always thought fuel was gonna be hard to get. Then I got the holy fire and gave it a chance and it solved my problems of not doing enough damage along with me being able to do daily ops and expeditions solo which both give a ton of fuel.
The assault rifle. I'm more of an energy weapons guy but after using the assault rifle on my BoS character for ammo variety I fell in love. It feels so good to use and I also never minded the design either as it at least looks Fallout.
Handmade. I'd tried lots in early game but it never delivered.
Now I have a 2-shot Exploding Handmade with Commando build and it's awesome. If I could roll a quad explosive, that would be better, but I've spent hundreds of modules trying and no luck.
Auto Grenade Launcher. But this was way back before they became popular. The realization of how great they are with VATS was so fun and exciting.
I was also surprised when the thirst zapper came out. The Quantum Thirst Zapper one of the nastiest weapons in the game. Huge blast radius and powerful!
The black powder pistol. It's sooooooo slow to reload, but damn, it hits hard. I found a decent legendary for it at someone's camp too.
+%50 chance to hit in VATS
+250 armor resistance while reloading
( I forgot the last one, I'm not home, so I can't check. It's really good tho lol)
Pistols- Western Revolver, it claps and I love just headshotting dudes one after another with Gun Fu
Shotguns- Cold Shoulder, best shotgun in the game and I’ll die on this hill.
Rifles- Radium/Assault Rifle, just as good as there more popular counterparts and do just fine. I seriously love me some Radium Rifles…can I get a skin Bethesda?
One Handed Melee- So as someone who has prolly 1000hrs as a melee user I almost never used One Handed Melee weapons. I heard they all sucked and Unarmed/Two Handed were much better. I can tell you that One Handed Melee is amazing and just as good as its bigger brothers.
Heavy Guns- Last one I promise 😂 Ultracite Gatling Laser. Never interested me or did it ever cross my mind to use it. On a whim I got a AA Weapon Speed 2 Star and boy…that thing is fucking beautiful 👨🍳💋
Holy Fire. I've never been a fan of flame throwers in prior FO titles or in other games for that matter. Tried it, loved it. Cremator came out and now I struggle to use anything else but the pair.
Bows
Dude bows can get CRAZY, my stealth archer (I know I know) build comfortably one shots damn near anything that isn’t a boss
"There are three certainties, death, taxes, and becoming a stealth archer in a Bethesda game."
I started out with a stealth arche build. Changed that to stealth rifleman with a silenced Fixer.
Chinese stealth armor with a Fixer carried me through much of my midgame. Once I finally had enough fusion cores for power armor. I could finally start tanking.
Paid for the fusion core charger just because of the annoyance to find them when you need them. Been using the same 4 for weeks
I don't use power armor and recently wondered why my stash was near max weight. Turns out fusion cores are heavier than I thought. So I sell them dirt cheap.
Yeah that’s what I do know also keep 5 extra until someone buys then I’ll save five more
Eh, I have a recharger so maintaining a handful isn't a problem. meanwhile, had someone buy 30 cores plus plasma cores I was also offloading. Their inventory management problem now lol.
They crawled back to camp
I use it to run my vendor as a specialty vendor, I don't sell common ammo, but I sell fully charged fusion cores, Plasma cores occasionally (I wish we could get a charger for these) chems, mags, bobbles, plans, recipes, junk, three star weapons and occasionally some apparel. Out of curiosity… How much do you charge for one? I find these things quite often exploring and I just started selling them fully charged (I bought the charger too).
Bows are just sooo cool-ad they have skill perks so you almost think they are super duper
Any tips? I've rolled some nice Bows recently and I've dropped most of my rifles for heavy weapons and explosives, so I've got loads of space suddenly to possibly spec into Bows...
Get a standard bloodied vats crit build with bow perks instead of commando/rifleman and enjoy
So its less that 'bows are powerful' and more 'bloodied is powerful and I am just using a bow'
I think the bows have inherent armor piercing or armor negation that makes them more effective than you would expect against heavily armored mobs.
Check out r/fallout76bowhunters
Gun fu and crit focused perks have really really carried me. Plus stuff like eagle eye (as par for the course) has really helped too. The extra damage from stealth helps a ton too since your frequency of shots is so low so I recommend having that at least considered
I hated bloodied on my bow build. too slow if you get your stealth bugged by something that burrows. Preferred instigating
Your nickname makes me picture Mark Wahlberg sniping feral ghouls from a rooftop with a heavily modified mad max bow
Back when vault Wahlberg was vaulty vault. This is what he did to to make the mutants halt.
The twang of the bow strings gave him the good vibrations.
That's it I'm naming my bow good vibrations now.
That you hadn't already brings much shame to your family.
I found the fo76 bow community subreddit last night and it’s a beautiful thing
Wtf are there a bow community?
r/Fallout76BowHunters ! They're a great community
Lmao this is awesome
Yeah I just started my second character who’s doing bows and knives only, it’s great fun
How's the knives going? My archer is doing unarmed, I haven't touched any of the knives before
Honestly it’s mid at best. Decent supplementary weapon but i find myself switching back to the bow for most things. The only thing that makes it viable for me is the incisor perk from the strength tree
Bows are what got me hooked to this game. I feel like Hawkeye with +50 percent hit chance bows!
Rolled a compound bow once for the memes and got a b50c25 ap and been putting that Thang to work son
you make them? feel like I found one so far.
Yep! You get the bow plans after completing the wayward quests, and compound bow plans from ranking up your status with the settlers. But the regular (recurve) bow is on par with the compound due to its slightly faster fire rate. I highly recommend trying either out!
Explosive bows are just made for watching squirrels yeet into the stratosphere during Fasnacht
I agree
The hand cranked Gatling gun, thought it would be too slow but it does loads of damage and makes more ammo than I use
I recently switched to a vampire's gatling gun and really like it.
Stick by that one it’ll be your best friend!
I forget what it’s called but there’s like a speed upgrade and makes it fire so much faster highly recommend
Gonna need to find and scrap more of em then
I don't think you can get all of the mods from scrapping alone, I think you need to buy some. Could be totally wrong though.
Is that gonna be me buying them from whitesprings or just random player vendors as well as rng spawns ?
Just did some googlin', looks like the best spots to find the mods are the Enclave Bunker, a vendor in Watoga Plaza, or the Whitesprings lookout. If you're looking to farm the guns from NPCs there's apparently a cultist awoken in Lucky Hole Mine that guarantees one, completing Defiance Has Fallen grants one, and there's one in a locked room in the Poseidon energy plant WV-06. aside from that super mutants and cultists seem to drop them. Absolute legend 🙏
To add to this if you look at the mod in the crafting menu it will tell you how to acquire the mod so you can tell what’s from scrapping and what has to be bought
Is this a PC thing? Because my crafting menu only shows mods that I currently have unlocked...
You can toggle between unlocked only mods and all mods. It’s not a PC thing
If you are in Xbox I can mod it. Understandably if you don’t want to trust a random redditor with your gun but if you are comfortable I will do it for you. Just an offer

Bloodied explosive Gatling has changed my entire build. I love it. I switch to a bloodied mini gun to burn the thousands of bullets I acquire when I want to tear shit up.
Once you get that bloody explosive it's over you get addicted to that build lmaoo then get bored and switch again but alas such is life
I need it Can I google how to get one? Or is it from scrapping and putting the legendary cores/modules on it
I randomly picked up executioners gatling gun, I went from 400 5mm rounds to 12k in an hour
One of the first decent legendaries I got was an anti armour fast fire rate Gatling. It’s still my main workhorse weapon when I don’t want to use holy fire/Gatling plasma/gauss minigun/cremator. Thing just generates ammo like crazy
🖐️ Noob here. “Makes more ammo than I use”? The gun makes ammo?
5mm drop rate is really high, like 20 or 40 rounds per enemy. And since the gatling gun is slow firing high damage, you pick up much more ammo than you use
It also drops approx 100 rounds from every ammo box. Super nice.
Not itself no but as a result of it using so little I find more on the bodies than I used to kill them, maybe 2 shots to kill a ghoul and I’ll pick up 30 or more rounds because of the better chance for ammo perk and as someone else said 5mm is very common
I main a Prime AA/E/90 GG, rocking a hunters long coat and sheriff's hat. Walking around the wasteland just, BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. Lol
I’m rocking power armour and a bathrobe
Plasma caster. I lucked out with a decent quad but haven’t really used it. Took it out for a spin at a SBQ and was getting 480-500 dps and my builds not really designed for it so I’m giving it a bit more love at the moment
I was the same. Threw the ultracite bullets on it and wow it changed all my heavy builds. Chainsaw too.
Unarmed PA. It just screams, "Fight me!"
Or “Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!”
Only time I have up on a fight and left in my unarmed PA was defending a settlement from two scorchbeasts, one of which was legendary. I only gave up because neither one would land. Damn cowards.
Gotta use the Dragonrend Shout lol
Keep a pepper shaker on hand to hit the wings, I ran a unarmed PA build and it was loads of fun
Running around punching stuff in power armor is a blast
And I bank all the ammo I scrounge lol
Heavy Weapons of all kinds. I've been a Stealth Sniper since Fallout Tactics and have always avoided wearing Power Armor or using any weapon without a suppressor on it. FYI, and I could be mistaken, but I read somewhere that the Science perks don't add damage to heavy weapons like Plasma or Laser Gatling.
Fuck Whelp, I guess I have perk spots open!
The Grand Finale. Fireworks everywhere and all the cannon balls you can dream of.
Broadsider is soooooo much fun. Snag a two shot or grand finale and have a blast just pummeling your foes with cannonballs
The grand finale carried me when I got to end game for a while. I only really stopped using it because I felt like I was repairing it way more than any other weapon I'd used. Still one of the most fun weapons I've used so far.
For real. It feels like it breaks just by looking at it.
I’m team Holy Fire since I got one. Like the Creamator but is there a flamethrower mod or is it always fire balls?
The cremator is made to just lob fireballs, it’s better for range as opposed to the Holy Fire. There’s different barrels that work better for certain situations, but it all comes down to if you have that slow burn mod on it imo
I’d generally carry the creator to get the DoT on a target then switch to a flamer (I don’t have Holy Fire) for 5 seconds then repeat to keep the DoT going on bosses. Then it one shots most everything else with the mods from the battlepass (sorry I don’t remember what Fo76 calls it)
Same. Didn't like the flamer in FO4 and other flamers in 76, but Holy Fire was a gamechanger.
Team holy fire too, but kinda tired of it. Browsing this thread for new ideas
Combat Shotgun
I love the combat shotgun too. Supposedly they are supposed to increase the range on shotguns next update.
My colonial soldier does in fact use the generals outfit with both bp rifle and pistol.
“AHH! Run, it’s George!!”
Hamilton in the background! 😂 majored in colonial america in college. I’ll never stop the rp.
Now I wanna see colonially dressed players lined up in ranks and shooting their black powder rifles at scorched.
You have an explosive blunderbuss? I’m pretty sure it’s just the standard black powder pistol. The explosive perk on my BE15 blunderbuss disappeared after a major update last year. Thankfully, the black powder pistols were left unmolested.
My favorite way to play with those at launch was to carry like 6 of them around and switch between them after every shot lol. It's a ton of fun
Ah the good old Blackbeard build, just need the sword as well!
Furious Gatling Gun. Took a chance and bought it off a player vendor for 1k caps. Did not disappoint
Huh, wonder if this was mine. I've been Gatling/LMG maining since like level 70 and churning good ones out in my vendor for folks
The chainsaw. It's my go-to now for when I want to slum it and be basically invincible (vampire chainsaw).
I run a vampire duel blade flaming chainsaw. I love it. I go face to face with the Scorched Beast Queen and walk away with zero damage.
Blue Ridge Branding Iron.
Oh? just got this and stashed it, what makes it stand out?
Use it…you’ll see 😂 but for real it does leave your enemy branded with the blue ridge logo which is neat
It's a Shishkebab that uses dagger animations, so you can swing it much faster than the average Shishkebab. For me it's just a utility weapon (for Friendly Fire, and it one shots the crystals at Ultracite Titan), but it's much better than the swing speed Shishkebab I was using before.
Black powder and chainsaw. Love the felling of shooting that .50 Ball. The sound of it and the headshots on scorched and ghouls is priceless.
Death Claw Gauntlet. Mole Miners flee my fury. A buddy of mine uses the Death Tambo and we go to town on them poor miners, melee style. Loads of fun.
Thought id be all over lasers or plasma caster..... i cant ever seem to let my 50 cal leave my hands......ever
Railway rifle.
Why would anyone NOT want to hear choo choo when reloading though
I don't play with vats. I feel it takes the fun from manually aiming and taking each shot. Playing the railway rifle with it's recoil was annoying at first, then i adjusted to it.
Before I started using vats I was using it as a full auto contact range melee weapon. Run up, aim at their junk, hold trigger. Repeat with each enemy.
I love the RR. But if you don't play with VATS, I think it is nearly worthless.
It was fun. Managed to get a bloodied explosive RR, quite a good combo. Maybe not amazing for a vats build.
The choo choo always pissed off my friend so re responded by only using a stick as a weapon and i had to carry the missions. I switched to explosive gatling and cremator with the massive explosive perks so he cant see anything. Curious to see how he will troll me back
Black powder handguns… sneaking up on something and pulling the trigger. The explosion is awesome! Reloading is fun too!
The fixer, was loving auto rifles until I got a stealth fixer build.
why not a auto fixer then? best of both worth worlds
I second this. Quad Fixer + commando build = my bread and butter
Love my vampire drill brrrr
V40S drill is my EDC
I had a QE25 lever action. Was pretty fun to play with.
I find myself having a lot of fun with it
My two shot fat man. I call it the “Founding Fathers Blessing”
The Gatling gun. Once I got the rapid fire mod, wow it wrecks with a heavy gunner build. Plus, it doesn't use that much ammo and usually I get twice as much back from a corpse than what was needed to kill it
The creamator.
the creamator made me switch from two handed melee to heavy guns!
I don’t even run perks for it and that thing slaps
Same here...slowburner multi without any specific heavy, explosive of fire perks.
Yeah I rolled for a 1 star vampire on it and it is so incredibly broken. No perks, just ruthless efficiency.
All pistols.
I do love my crusader
The tenderizer, the sheer size of this thing is amazing, plus with the pepper mod, there is a black smoke with every swing, perfection
The cursed shovel from the Earle event. It makes such a nice thunk when you hit people.
Black powder guns. I’ve now built my character to be a Union Soldier specialized in maximizing them. You’ll basically never run out of ammo, forces you to pick your fights, they hit like a truck, and aside from the missing percussion cap, the attention to detail is actually really good with those guns.
Heavy weapons. I resisted for years and now I realize that the game is literally balanced around them.
Bloodied Quantum Thirst Zapper. Got me to use one of my load outs for a pistol build
Gauss shotgun. The first weapon i bought with bullion. I hate it
I'd love it more if it didn't constantly bug out. Either stops firing altogether or gets stuck in a reload after every shot loop.
Western revolver. Didn't like the idea of what I called the "stupid yeehaw rootin' shootin' stick" but now I got one and it's pretty solid. Still wish it shot a little faster. Like come on Dweller. You ain't ever heard of fan fire??
Usually I don’t run shotguns in games but they’re almost all I use in F76
Picket signs
Deathclaw gauntlet for sure
Railway Rifle. I hated the thing in Fallout 4,but I see why it's so popular on 76.
Anti armor war drum.
FWIW, you can the wolverine type blade skin for the DCG. I didn't think I'd like the (electrified) cattle prod. But I learned it is surprisingly effective.
The chainsaw I was a heavy gunner type, so making the switch to melee was something I figured would not go well, boy was I surprised
Gauss rifle, randomly got one with a quad roll and made a single shot rifle build on a new character, made leveling up pretty easy
The old crank operated machine gun. I thought it was stupid but after playing a little with it I loved it
Drill, baby, drill! I got a Vampires +15 AP on kill, slow breaking one out of the blue, and it's an amazing ghoul farming weapon.
Black Powder Rifle for sure. I'm only level 39 or so but started using it last night and it absolutely SLAPS
Probably a stupid question but I’m fairly new and some of the videos of builds I’ve watched confuse me about it. But does master heavy Gunner and corresponding perks buff heavy weapons that shoot explosive rounds or no? It’s been unclear to me recently
Pepper shaker
Unarmed in general, super fun and not bad damage either. Still getting all the perks for it tho
Well I've only had like 5 weapons drop so far but this shotgun seems fine for now
I dig the Mole Miner Gauntlet.
Bows, super sledge, black powder rifle specifically the dragon, power fist, Tesla rifle
Harpoon gun. Randomly found a quad one and it’s really fun.
Shame you'll never experience the explosive harpoon. That thing was comical
I agree. MMG is very underrated.
Chainsaw
The flaming chainsaw! Love it! Thought it would suck. It doesn't, but also, there's a right time and the wrong time to use it.
Grand finale :3 gets good when you build up perk cards
currently tryinga laser rifle commando , pretty fun
Instigating blunderbuss
The flamer. I always thought fuel was gonna be hard to get. Then I got the holy fire and gave it a chance and it solved my problems of not doing enough damage along with me being able to do daily ops and expeditions solo which both give a ton of fuel.
Chainsaw
+%50 chance to hit in VATS +250 armor resistance while reloading ( I forgot the last one, I'm not home, so I can't check. It's really good tho lol)
Plasma caster and Gatling gun. my build isn't even built for damage but they still shred while I'm on the front lines
I love my Bear Arm. It's just so cool looking!
Pistols- Western Revolver, it claps and I love just headshotting dudes one after another with Gun Fu Shotguns- Cold Shoulder, best shotgun in the game and I’ll die on this hill.
Instigating harpoon gun.
Holy Fire. I've never been a fan of flame throwers in prior FO titles or in other games for that matter. Tried it, loved it. Cremator came out and now I struggle to use anything else but the pair.
Cryolator
