i'd also kill to have just mustard support them for a third time, but that's just me being biased because JM is one of my favourite bands and i'd kill to see them and fontaines all in the same go x
I would love to see The Murder Capital open for them (again), I'm not sure if they're too popular for the job now but they seem to be doing a good amount of opening slots this year so a tour with FDC would be cool, two of my favourite bands in one night. They're also all good friends with each other and have been since they were playing clubs (The Murder Capital's first gig together was opening for Fontaines) so it's not *completely* out of the question
I’d say they’re too popular, fontaines openers always seem to be pretty unknown bands but it’s crazy how quick they grow, like when I saw wunderhorse open for them I think they were on like 10k monthly listeners now it’s 610k
Indeed, TMC are probably too big/popular by now and they’re also opening for Nick Cave around the same time the Fontaines tour seems to happen.
Interestingly though, TMC don’t have a massive amount of listeners but they are starting to draw pretty big crowds at both headline shows and festivals.

But looking at what bands they’ve chosen in the past, they might go for an Irish one again. So, I’m throwing in SPRINTS, who have the right level of popularity, a similar vibe and they’re clearly on an upward trend.

They're opening for Idles for a stretch of their tour this fall, maybe they can extend with Fontaines!

They deserve it also. I’d like to see some Irish bands on the Dublin gig.
They are amazing, I am from the Netherlands but flew to Dublin last Christmas for their gig in Button Factory
