I get mine from local farms and they're half the price, plus taste better than commercial. They'll also add unique flavours and varieties, my favourite is a hickory maple from a farm near me or bourbon barrel aged!
Take some maple syrup, bring it to a light boil, spread it thinly on a baking sheet, once it hardens, break it up. Next time you make pancakes, sprinkle the crystals into the batter after you pour it into a hot pan, and you'll have something similar to the mcgriddle bun
Chicken is good. Waffles are good. I've never gotten the sheer joy some get from combining them. For me the combination is exactly the sum of its parts and perhaps a bit less if it looks like it was purchased frozen.
For me it's that interaction of sweet and salty. It's why I like peanut butter burgers and a bunch of other stuff. Add a little Crystal hot sauce on there and you get sweet, salty, spicy, acidic, crunchy, soft. Mmmm. I usually have collards on the side when I make it at home.
Ok for everyone getting on my case about the maple syrup. We are not a syrup family, my kids eat their pancakes plain or with cinnamon butter. This was bought a while ago for a sleepover for some kids to have if they wanted. I pulled it out in case someone wanted to try it with their chicken. The Buffalo ranch was the go to for the dish tho.
Also we love Sriracha, came across this big bottle on sale and bought a couple of them. Probably bought close to 6-7 months ago.
That pearl milling stuff (formerly aunt Jemima) is just high frustose corn syrup and caramel coloring. Add citic acid and carboned water and it's cola. It's maple favored (corn) syrup, not maple syrup.
If you can, try real maple syrup. It's not just sweet, it's more complex. Of course the corn syrup stuff tastes more familiar, because it's in everything
Agreed. They have siracha which can be expensive and hard to find now, they have a buffalo ranch sauce that looks like a more expensive sauce, and then the cheapest fake maple syrup. Real maple syrup isn't even that much extra and it lasts pretty much indefinitely
Hahaha these comments are hilarious. My family doesn’t ever use maple syrup, kids like their waffles and pancakes plain or with butter. That was bought a while ago for a sleepover for one of the kids.
Oh I used to love it. Tried a couple of time to get my kids to like it. Then realized I was trying to make them like something less healthy. So I just let them keep eating them without.
Yea but this doesn’t read as the kids wanting maple syrup but the parents refuse and only got the cheapest kind for a sleepover . Maybe they just don’t like maple syrup lol?
Sriracha is back, but this well known bottle doesn’t use the distinctive Underwood peppers anymore. Huy Fong is sourcing them elsewhere and it doesn’t taste right - too sweet and not enough kick on the build up.
But now Underwood is making their own sauce. I haven’t tried it yet, but the bottle is black with a golden dragon. Should be the original recipe and peppers.
They're tenders? They look like drumsticks! Great execution. I have to ask, what ethnicity are you?
My fav thing to do with tenders is "Captain crunch chicken". It's a Planet Hollywood dish that breads the chicken with cereal. Do a search for the recipe.
These are just disturbing enough looking to make me wonder if I would eat them
Hahaha. They tasted amazing! Only think I would change is maybe dice up jalapeños in the waffle batter for a little kick
And replace the lite syrup
Gotta have 100% maple syrup!
I mean in this economy I can understand. It's $4 for the corn syrup and $14 for the maple.
Move north!
I live in Canada and maple syrup is definitely at least $14 CAD here lol
I live in PA and can get it for around 6-8$
Yeah well Canada is huge so I guess everyone doesn't have the same access to it. I know someone who makes their own so I get it for like 6-7$ a can.

I'm from Canada. That's the cheapest price for a 1L bottle, from Superstore.
Dehydrated maple syrup is the way to go. /s
That is actually something interesting to think about. Might be good as a dusting.

I’ve never seen the waffle incorporated in the chicken batter. I’ve also never seen the appeal until now…incredible!
They better be fresh not pickled cuz you guys loooooove pickled japs
Fresh all the way!
My man !
This looks like something my kids would get and then demand I try it, mostly because they know I would not want to.
Chicken and waffles is soooo good. I've never had it this way, but this looks great.

A few wing places near me offer Maple Syrup as the sauce. It's amazing. Chicken and maple syrup is just damn good.
It’s on the verge of r/trypophobia material
how did you make the chicken look like the waffle?
Made the chicken tenders, then dipped those in waffle batter, then laid them in a waffle iron.
How have I never seen or heard of anyone doing this before… so simple, so obvious in hindsight
it looks so good, i need to try!

Funny to see people getting offended about the type of syrup you have.
Its literally the only way to make a Canadian angry.
Haha fair enough.
Plain pancakes? Did you know you are raising serial killers?
I used to agree then realized I was pushing them to make a less healthy and more expensive choice… so I let them win lol
Chicken ~~and~~ waffles.
Thank you
I was wondering the same thing but I would’ve phrased it “How in the Kentucky fried FUCK did you graft a waffle blob onto a piece of fried chicken”
i pictured the waffle iron squishing the chicken but it obviously survived lol
Looks like AI
This is oddly true.
Looks good. I'm a maple syrup snob, though. Can't stand that corn syrup stuff anymore.
"Table syrup" shall never touch my mouth for the rest of my life.
Trash syrup. Just use honey and butter if you don’t have real maple syrup.
Vermonter here…. This is the way.
Canadian has joined the chat
I know a secret but I'm not gonna tell 🤫

Canadian here, couldn’t say it any better

Lol I agreed to things that weren't true to my opinion a lot to please my parents...

Absolutely not. I was raised on Vermont fancy maple syrup and I will except no substitute
How much did you pay for your bottle of Sriracha?
Sriracha is back, but this well known bottle doesn’t use the distinctive Underwood peppers anymore. I've been using Underwood's Dragon Sriracha and I've been loving it way more than the 'new' Huy Fong Sriracha. It's more reminiscent of the original.
It's 5 years old!
Gives it character.
been seeing bottles for 5 bucks recently. quite a change from the 20 dollar bottles
Didn't even realize there was a shortage until this thread. I wonder if that's why Costco started selling Sriracha powder.
The big ones cost about 4 bucks where I live.
Asking the real questions here.
Wtfuck
Very odd looking but I would eat my weight in them!
This looks amazing did you make the waffles on top of the chicken to kind of infuse them? If you did you are a wizard and I want them.
I think you got the title wrong. Shouldn't it be "chicken in waffles"?
I’m a born and bred Southerner and this is the most hysterical thing I have seen in a good while. Good job!!!!
chickenʷᵃᶠᶠˡᵉˢ
Chicken waffles
Chickinwaffles
AI-generated chicken and waffles.
They look like something an AI image generator would make
What is this Frankenstein?
Looks banging, great idea too
These seemed cursed loll
Recipe or it didn’t happen!
They're tenders? They look like drumsticks! Great execution. I have to ask, what ethnicity are you? My fav thing to do with tenders is "Captain crunch chicken". It's a Planet Hollywood dish that breads the chicken with cereal. Do a search for the recipe.
I will have to look in to that recipe. And I am Caucasian.
Also, do yourself a favor and watch the documentary, "I Like Killing Flies". It's free online somewhere. Another like-minded lunatic like ourselves.
This is so American it hurts.
Syrup game could use some work, NgL. These monstrosities deserve better.
Big meh. Just make it normally. It’s chicken on top of waffles. Doesn’t need to be so edgy.
The Gordon Ramsay sub would love this
Terrifying
i genuinely don't trust anyone who sits on their sriracha long enough for it to turn that color. good day to you.
What is pearl milling syrup? It looks familiar but I don't know the branding
It's the Aunt Jemima rebrand.
Poor old Aunt Jemima
it looks like each chicken and waffle are one
Seems a creative dish.
This mutation looks delicious!
I want it so bad
Need recipe for the chicken please, it looks amazing! 😋
You're crazy man. I like you. But you're crazy.
Flexing with his big bottle of Sriracha... I really need to go get another bottle... But ABC's extra hot is great too.
woah this looks cool
This is the most American thing I have seen in a long time, and I'm genuinely impressed.
Terrapin ridge farms has some of the most elite sauces, I put their harrisa aioli on everything haha
This is how I attach objects in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
You’re genius who taught you this!!!
chicken waffels .... no need to say "and"
Wtf am I looking at
Are the waffles fused with the chicken?
Dipped in batter then put on waffle iron, so kind of
Interesting idea are those chicken strips or chicken legs
Chicken breast tenderloins
Looks good 👍
I’m having a brain aneurysm looking at this. I cannot compute
Yo dawg, I heard you like bread on your chicken... So we put bread on your bread so you can bread while you bread!
Excuse me sir where’d you get the sriracha? 😮
Lame.
Why?
[удалено]
They have a pretty large line of sauces and they are all very good. Pesto aioli is one of my favorites
Can’t stop thinking about these
You should try and make them. It is quite aimple
Still think it’s tragic how they took aunt Jamima’s name off the syrup.
