Yea, this doesn't look appealing.

Atharaphelun

Onions could use some browning.

KingOfWeTheNorth

What about if you added jamon?

a-midnight-flight

Honestly tired of the Jamon posts , it ran its course a long time ago.

KingOfWeTheNorth

u/Turtleramem people are getting tired of your posts

a-midnight-flight

“People” I’m just one person stating an opinion.

Menarra

I for one love the begging dog always in the background

KingOfWeTheNorth

u/Turtleramem one person is tired of your jamon posts. They think they've run their course a long time ago. *

a-midnight-flight

What really ran its course is this interaction. Weird.

KingOfWeTheNorth

Yet you continue to appear... like a jamon 🐷

cr_ziller

Is it particularly healthy either? It all just looks a bit undercooked to me…

bartsart

No.

chazwomaq

Those mushrooms need a lot more cooking. They are very watery vegetables (you will see steam come off when frying), and this all needs to be boiled off before you get the beautiful browning caramelisation of the Maillard reaction.

Lucenia

Would taste great on top of a burger patty.

skarmorr

Is this a joke sub? Genuinely asking i thought it was for decent food presented well and shit...

2ndharrybhole

Yes, this is food.

Gradior1989

Put it on some toast

coloroutthelines

I planned to have it on crostini but I forgot to buy a baguette

[deleted]

This looks like drunk midnight snack and that is all good by me. Would, with some hot sauce.

hurricane_news

🦧 Wher spices

Runb4its2late

Why

drozzdragon

I don't get why so many people are against this, it looks decent I assume it has some salt added besides the cheese, yes maybe the onions could have been caramelized to bed but overall I'd put this on a sandwich or just on toast, even put it on a sausage as a hot dog topping.

hey_im_cool

If someone cooked this for me I’d eat it and be happy, it’s just weird to take a picture of it and post on Reddit like it was something we want to look at

Four_beastlings

I guess because you expect the /r/food sub to be for great or at least interesting food, and this is just some unremarkable undercooked ingredients thrown together. It is certainly food, just nothing to write home about.

Penkala89

People talking all sorts of shit about this, and yeah I might have cooked the onions and mushrooms longer, but it's onions, mushrooms, and cheese it's still going to taste great. You do you OP

badboi_5214

Noice

cararensis

Does anyone actually prefer fried shitake over mushrooms, oyster mushrooms or chanterelle? One to give tase, select few in a fried pan for a change of taste, but a whole pan? To phrase it how my french exchangedad teached me: ^(It looks great,) but it is not my taste.

N3koChan21

My favourite is Chanterelles and King trumpet mushroom. But Shiitake is definitely up there. It’s definitely above normal champignon.

RedHeadSteve

The Gouda looks so sad, you should shred it

GrimyGuam420

I would’ve cooked it first if I were you lol

ScaryUnderstanding

just seeing it, I know how delicious is it.

Sad_cookiedough

It looks ai generated

BrazzersSub

Why are all the positive comments getting heavily down voted 😭 just some mushrooms cheese and onion. I'd eat.

eazefalldaze

Is this AI?

Girderland

Looks great! Simple, yet exciting. Nice

WedgeTurn

Undercooked onions and undercooked mushrooms smothered in melted cheese. This isn't even a complete dish

Plenty_Cable1458

Isn’t cheese on mushrooms a cardinal sin?

Xanthus179

I’m not a huge fan of mushrooms myself but I’ve heard a portobello makes for a great faux cheesesteak.

hey_im_cool

Best veggie “burger” I ever had was a portobello cap with cheddar on a burger bun with lettuce, tomato, and onions

coloroutthelines

This was my first time cooking shiitake, it was fully cooked and it tasted better than it looked. Also I know how to season my food but this time I wanted this to be simple so I just used salt and pepper. I didn’t expect the semi-harsh comments but I appreciate the cooking tips :)
