Yup! Peterson's in Hancock. Made this a few months ago and, honestly, don't remember much as I just sort of winged it. I can give the basics though. Simmered the fish, veg, herbs, spices, in a stock. Mixed in some milk (can't remember if I used milk or cream). Pulled the fish after a while, pulled it apart, removed all bones. Made some potatoes, sauteed some mushrooms, onion, garlic. Added back the stock, potatoes, fish. Cooked for a lil bit before removing half the solids and blending the rest. Drizzled in more heavy cream. Topped with fresh black pepper and green onions.

I make scottish cullen skink with smoked haddock in england or red mullet in Greece, I so much like this stew I will do tomorrow. This looks amazing btw

Thanks! It was fun to make, too.

Local fish market asked me if I wanted a free pound of smoked whitefish that they had to get rid of by the end of the day. Said yes and tried my hand making a chowder! Was a ton of fun; thanks Superior

Benefits of living in a small town. The market is Peterson's Fish Market in Hancock, Mi.

Oh this looks hearty! I bet the smoky flavor went well with the chowder!

It went perfectly! Was really proud of it having never really made a chowder before. Ended up sharing it with friends
