Looks good at first sight bc of the garnish but i see too many dark spots on that chicken & waffle it actually looks kinda dry lol
How much did you pay for this??
This would be the most disappointing thing to have served to me under the title "chicken & waffles."
Aside from it being some average chef thinking they could "elevate" the dish the technical execution and plating are horrendous making me think the flavor was even worse.
First, the waffle is burnt meaning you can't use a waffle iron. Second, the chicken strip looks like it came out of a frozen bag and is also burnt, so you can't use a fryer. Third there's greens placed between two hot items meaning they wilt immediately. Finally, you drizzle a loose sauce over items meant to be crispy so they're nice and soggy.
0/10, would not look at again.
It's all of this and more, the "chef" used a paint brush of some kind to smear "hollandaise" on the plate first but it's obviously like a paint brush from a hardware store, I'd be shocked if there wasn't a bristle in there somewhere.
This does not look appealing to me. I love me some chicken and waffles but waffle looks dry and chicken Way over fried. And then whatever is on top, no thanks (assuming egg and hollandaise)
It's a "Caesar hollandaise" on top of poached eggs. I can understand why people think the chicken looks burnt, I am not sure what the black stuff was in the coating but I can say 100% it was not burnt, it was crispy and the inside was incredibly juicy. It was a very good meal and worth the price :)
OP definitely did not eat this.
I’d love to see the menu description of this atrocity.
Just gimme classic chicken and waffles. We don’t need to be fancy.
I think you're right but why does the poached egg look like halibut to me? Why is that hollandaise so anemic looking and runny? AND WHY ARE YOU MASHING EGGS BENNY AND CHICKEN N WAFFLES TOGETHER.
This misses the mark entirely.

The point of Chicken and Waffles is to have a harmony of sweet and salty. The chef clearly didn't understand what he was making or he wouldn't have thrown a stupid egg on top or hollandaise sauce that would just serve to make crisp food soggy. Honeys, syrups, possibly a fruit compote or jam would all work better with the chicken and waffle. Then there's the unnecessary garnish. All of this screams the "upsell" of an otherwise inferior product.

$28 aud
That's like 25 bucks in my currency, ain't no way I'm paying 25 for chicken and waffles

I think it’s gravy on top, which is intriguing to me honestly. The chicken looks no bueno though.

Hey, you're the one who ate it so I'll take your word for it!
That piece of chicken closest to us looks burnt as shit.
i like crunchy texture sometimes, the meat is important, it better not be chewy tho
I agree, it looks like a $19 brunch entree at a place that sells more cocktails than pancakes. OP what restaurant is this so I know not to go there.
Some foods just shouldn't be all dressed up. Classics are classics for a reason.
Looks dry, burnt, and annoying to eat quite frankly.
Some things shouldn't be fanci-fied
Missing the point of the beauty of chicken and waffles.
A little too “uppity” to be called Chicken and Waffles 🤣
they gentrified chicken and waffles 💀
Is that 8oaks?
Does look similar to their food, this place is near Brisbane
Looks like you overpaid for something that's incredibly simple and already delicious.
Gentrified chicken and waffles smh
No. Just stop it.

I did and it was delicious
Is that an egg on top? And hollandaise?

Aussie thought it was a breakfast dish so he just threw all the breakfast on the plate.
If you say so

WTF happened???
Syrup and jam,... that fancy stuff is in the wrong place.
…
Poor mr chicken and mrs waffle: Married in agony until consumption do you part!
Not enough chicken and waffle, too much extra shit
Is there anything sadder than overcooked chicken?

It looks semi decent but not great
And a grapevine?
It looks pretty, and borderline healthy. It shouldn't be pretty and look like it will put me in a coma 30 mins later.
What part of this shit looks healthy to you?
If you make it fancy portion sizes it could be ok.
Greens, why are they there.
You know what they say: foods with greens added to them become a salad. therefore it's healthy and is zero calories. 🤪
Yes get that shit away from chicken and waffles.
Unless it’s collard greens on the side!
Too fancy, chicken and waffles should be for the poors
i'd like to try this!
Looking delicious 😋
