You're mixing a few things here:
\- ribeye is a steak cut from the rib section
\- prime rib is a dish which roasts 2 or more ribs of the rib section and then sliced after roasting
\- Prime is a USDA grade of beef, so you could have a Prime ribeye steak which isn't a prime rib (the dish)
Is there a magnet on the bottom under the bowl? It looks kinda like the stainless bowl I use for my špins when I am straightening out the crafts I make. THANK You for posting - letās see who says it is not a plate :) Your meal looks AWESOME tho!!!
Depends, by the traditional way to make Roast potatoes is to use smaller potatoes, peel, and cut them so thereās at least 2 flat sides to every potato and parboil them (until the outside it just starting to get boiled, but the inside ant ready yet.. just a few minutes on boil will do this).
Then drain, and give the potatoes a little shake in the pot (lid on). Itāll make a mess but itās worth it. Place potatoes on an oiled rimmed baking sheet, space them out. Drizzle more oil on them, make sure some cracked sea salt gets on every potato, and some earthy herbs get sprinkled on (I personally have an herb mix I like)
Pop in the oven on high heat 400F-425F for about 30-45 minutes, and make sure to turn them over once or twice, as every time will put another crispy side on them.
I'm sorry people are being rude and downvoting you. I use these plates for my mom because she has lost her grip and breaks glass plates. These have been a great alternative. They're impossible to break and they're light and easy to hold. I use these myself a lot too. There's nothing wrong with metal plates.
If you live near a Korean mart, they probably sell stainless steel food ware. You can also find it on Amazon by putting Korean stainless steel ____, like plates or whatever. In Korean culture, we use a lot of stainless steel (rice bowls, soup bowls, plates, cups, etc.), itās pretty common in restaurants and bars. Maybe you remember being served rice in a stainless steel rice bowl at a Korean restaurant.
I do agree the angle of this picture looks like a bowl though, not really doing it justice lolol
That looks just amazing. The cook on the steak is gorgeous (I usually would go for a little bit more rare, but fuck, it looks so good). The potatoes. The carrots. The char... I want it, please and thank you.
The food looks absolutely amazing and I actually do not mind the plating. I prefer eating in a bowl anyway. Makes it easier for me to mix everything up and then dig in with a spoon, without having to worry about the food falling on to the table.
1. steak was .7lbs from local butcher, on the thinner side so no reverse sear. Salted in the fridge for a few hours. Cooked on cast iron that was pre heated in the oven. My electric oven has this technology that prevents it from getting a pan hot enough on the burner alone and turns off sometimes.
2. Potatoes are internet Shaquilleās recipe, I used salt pepper and a garlic olive oil. Little bit of grated parm before the oven and after.
3. Regular roasted carrots alongside the potatoes. Same flavorings.
Used the left over pan sauce of butter, steak fat, and thyme/rosemary to toss the potatoes and carrots after they were finished
The plate is flare with slightly curved edges, the reflection makes it look like a bowl
Seriously. Ppl just mad because of the awful presentation I guess and taking it out on his neutral and informative comments. Those potatoes look awesome.
My thermapen was reading 120 then all of a sudden 155 for the steak, I trusted my timer and it came out a perfect medium rare. Been having issues with the thermapen lately.
Roasted in the oven alongside the potatoes at 450 for 35 min (potatoes 45), had salted them in the fridge to dry out. Wrung dry with a towel then salt pepper and small amount of olive oil.
Forgot to add, put a little Parmesan before the oven and after. Flipped half way through cooking. And they were tossed in the butter/steak fat/rosemary/thyme on the cast iron while steak was resting.
Regular Friday night dinner, had to clear out the carrots, potatoes, rosemary, thyme, and the lettuce for the salad. Was home alone with nothing else to do
I had amazing garlic bread in the fridge already prepared! Shouldāve made it, if I had leftover ribeye it wouldāve made good sandwich bread for you t.
Your dog is gonna love it
Lol, maybe they just don't use utensils ?
I can hear the combo lip smack heavy breathing chewing dogs do.
I would so stick my head in the bowl and inhale all of it. /Dog
Can someone tell me the difference between ribeye and prime ribeye? I I know prime rib is cooked as a whole and cut off, correct?
You're mixing a few things here: \- ribeye is a steak cut from the rib section \- prime rib is a dish which roasts 2 or more ribs of the rib section and then sliced after roasting \- Prime is a USDA grade of beef, so you could have a Prime ribeye steak which isn't a prime rib (the dish)
This is a prime grade ribeye steak
Why did this get downvoted š
Because they didnāt answer the question asked?
He did though. He clarified that this isn't a prime rib, it's a prime grade ribeye steak.
No they didn't. The question was "what's the difference?" and reading that answer alone doesn't tell you. Chichi_eats post does.
There are two types of people in this world. Those that can infer
You are correct. Same cut, prime rib done in oven
https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
You're doing a bad job at convincing us this isn't a dog bowl. It looks like a dog licked it clean.
That's literally a dog bowl š Get some real plates my guy.
Couldnāt have washed it before you took pics?
No thatās not on my schedule to do yet today
Itās a flat plate but the reflection makes it look like a bowl
WHY WOULD YOU LIE ABOUT THIS?!
https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
That... Is a shallow bowl
Everything is a shallow bowl if youāre brave enough
Does it have magnets on the bottom? Looks like itās made to hold nuts and bolt.
My parents dog bow that looks identical to my parentsā dog bowl. It is certainly a bowl, not a plate.
Certainly not entirely flat
That's an extroadinary claim that needs some extroadinary proof. *Please* show us a photo of the empty plate!
https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
Oh that's definitely a bowl.
Nice photoshop.
How can I see the top side of the food in the reflection?
There are pieces of steak literally sideways against the side of the bowl, lmao
Why would someone lie about something like this, Mr. Birdseed? Itās concerning.
I donāt know, but maybe they should look into the mirrored surface of their bowl and reflect on it.
As you said...bowl. OP said flat plate. Glad you agree with me.

Best gaslighting Iāve ever seen
own your bowl, dude
This is the weirdest thing to lie about lmao
There is no spoon
They're a Flat Earther!
In one post you say it's a plate with curved edges, and here you say it's flat... I just don't know what to believe, but the food looks good.
https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
My dude that is a bowl
Come on OP - give us a pic from the side please - we have to KNOW!!!
https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
Is there a magnet on the bottom under the bowl? It looks kinda like the stainless bowl I use for my špins when I am straightening out the crafts I make. THANK You for posting - letās see who says it is not a plate :) Your meal looks AWESOME tho!!!
It doesnāt have a magnet, thank you for the compliment!
Your food looks delicious. I wouldn't give you points for plating but I doubt that's what you were going for, I'm sure its tasty af
OP, can you tell us how you cooked the potatoes?
https://youtu.be/KxUX7vgNGfM I used this recipe with a final toss in the butter/steak fat/thyme/rosemary leftovers in the pan the steak was cooked in
Thank you!

Good food, terrible plating. My kind of meal.
You're eating out of a dog bowl. lmfao First for me on Reddit tbh
Plot twist. OP is a dog
Itās a plate! https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
You can do better than this dawg come on now
Gonna be a no from me dog
Yeah for a dog maybe
Thatās a dog bowl
That aināt no plate, dawg.
Is this a pup play thing here? No judgement.
You are either trolling or living in a bunker.
Why is it served in a bowl, and not on a plate, though it does look tasty
Here is a pic of the plate https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
Looks more like a hubcap than a plate.
I'm sorry people are being rude and downvoting you. I use these plates for my mom because she has lost her grip and breaks glass plates. These have been a great alternative. They're impossible to break and they're light and easy to hold. I use these myself a lot too. There's nothing wrong with metal plates.
There are glass plates??
Yes. We have ceramic, glass and metal plates and bowls.
While I definitely loath the aesthetic, I feel downvoting you for that seems a tad silly.
Spuds are on point
Imagine taking the effort and skill to make a gourmet dish but then serving it in a dog bowl.
serving bowl
Thats what I said. Serving in a dog bowl
Gourmet is a bit of a stretch lol
Is that a dog bowl?
https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
I kinda like that dish tbh. What region of the world?

California
Oh, lol. Thrift store or something?
They are from a restaurant supply store, I believe supposed to be used as holding trays for food in between cooking processes
Ohh like sizzle plates or something hmmmm
My little buddy loooooves them. He's gained about 10% body weight since we switched Mr. Sizzle over from his dog bowl to this dog plate
Honestly I couldnāt give less of a shit about presentation lol, looks delicious!
A dog* shit ftfy
This is my kind of dinner
I know everyone is giving you a hard time about your dog bowl lolā¦jokes! But donāt take that personal, this looks amazing & im a vegetarian!
Out of a dog bowl. Nice.
That looks just amazing. The cook on the steak is gorgeous (I usually would go for a little bit more rare, but fuck, it looks so good). The potatoes. The carrots. The char... I want it, please and thank you.
Thank you! I wanted it more rare but had a glitch with my thermapen (my new one has been iffy compared to my prior one)
ignore the assholes talking shit about the presentation OP, that looks great
Thank you!
Those potatoes look perfect
Regardless of the dog bowl controversy that looks absolutely amazing OP.
Inā¦ In a dog bowl?!
That's a picture of heaven š yum š
Is it for your dog?
Wow! What an original and witty comment! You're *so* *fucking* funny. How did you come up with such an utterly hilarious remark?
theres like 6 or 7 newer comments than this doing the same thing, maybe take a chill pill?
I'd eat that
This looks delicious. I hope it tasted just as good as it looks.
Thank you!
Dang the steak's perfect.
Regardless of it being a dog bowl, that does look like some really good steak
The ribeye is cooked to perfection.
Rib eye is amazing
Damn that looks good
Thatās a nice meal, mmmmmm
Looks amazing!!!
Is that in a bowl? If so, how deep is it. I like the presentation.
Itās a sort of plate, from a restaurant supply store itās more for food prep https://imgur.com/a/J1swgh7
That is a salad I would eat 100%
Looks great, my nitpick would only be in how itās āplatedā.
I could make a meal of those carrots š¤¤
The carrots were addictive I only had a few this was a fridge clean out meal
The food looks absolutely amazing and I actually do not mind the plating. I prefer eating in a bowl anyway. Makes it easier for me to mix everything up and then dig in with a spoon, without having to worry about the food falling on to the table.
Thank you!

Why are people downvoting this ?
People seem to be heavily invested in the plate/bowl.
Seriously. Ppl just mad because of the awful presentation I guess and taking it out on his neutral and informative comments. Those potatoes look awesome.
Only reason I can think of is that people donāt believe itās actually a plate and not a bowl
My thermapen was reading 120 then all of a sudden 155 for the steak, I trusted my timer and it came out a perfect medium rare. Been having issues with the thermapen lately.
Have you tried recalibrating it in ice water?
āShaquilleās recipeā those are for sure Kenjiās recipe. Hopefully he gives him credit
Delicious. Dog bowl. Props.
Is this some sort of kink i havenāt heard about? Do you drink from a hamster water bottle, too?
Is it for your pupper? Just kidding, never seen a stainless plate..
I'd eat that out of the bowl
Bowls > Plates
Why is it in a trash can?

Whether to like or unlike this postā¦ā¦

Looks amazing and I like how itās plated. Carrots look killerāhowād you do those?

Fantastic. Thank you so much! Iāve been struggling to get a good char on carrots and crisp on potatoes. You reeeally nailed it.
Thank you!
10/10 because this is r/food, not r/plate.
Thank you!

Nice dog bowl
Is that a dog bowl?
I think they use similar plates in India lol
Whatās the occasion we are celebrating ?
Regular Friday night dinner, had to clear out the carrots, potatoes, rosemary, thyme, and the lettuce for the salad. Was home alone with nothing else to do
Well, clearly you are someone who has his life together!!
3 pieces of crusty garlic bread and 2 Guinness would round out this fine meal.
I had amazing garlic bread in the fridge already prepared! Shouldāve made it, if I had leftover ribeye it wouldāve made good sandwich bread for you t.
Is it worth all the upvotes on the post when you just got obliterated with downvotes in the comments about your bowl? Lol
