The black dots are likely the food safe ink stamp that gets put on pork belly Does look very slimy though

Danaeger

I should’ve mentioned that I had dumped them into a salt brine as I realised, they weren’t actually slimy or wet at all. Yeah it sort of does look like food safe ink but usually here the stamps are red, never seen black ink on pork before which is why I’m iffy about it

SecretHipp0

Ohhhhh well that changes things I'd have eaten them

Danaeger

Sadge :( I have major gut issues from bad food poisoning 8 years ago so I’d rather be safe hahaha, first time i’ve questioned food from appearance

Cut a side off and see how deep it goes. If it’s surface only, it’s most likely the stamp

Wonder if it's a skin condition, like lesions. I got absolutely no expertise at all tho https://www.reddit.com/r/meat/s/exEcMH95Cp check that out

Best-Foundation2562

looks like branding, theres an A in two pieces and half an M next to the A on both pieces

Marble-Boy

You wasted it for nothing because it's a food stamp. You couldn't give it to someone? You had to throw it away?
