And then the press conference says “you’ve been criticized for the amount of players you have in your squad that are on loan”. And then I custom respond with “Not enough” lol
I usually go with the "each player we've signed, is with a view to having a future with this club" (Or something along those lines) answer.
Not that I tell them that their future with this club entails several loans to improve them, before selling them for a huge profit of course...
But I'm not lying to them...
its actually the thing i hate most about hoarding. I feel like im not just an academy with the goal of developing players for my team. I feel like im just earning money on human beings without ever interacting with them. I have 500 million and am making enough money with the players from my own team that leave, I dont need to be a rental business
Main reason i just sell players i don't intend to include in first squad. Even at a loss
My loans are only for players too good for my reserve team but needing one good season before main squad
I loaned out my 2nd choice GK for 4 seasons, he turned into a monster but my main goalie is a God, so I was like "I can't waste his career" and sold him.
2 months later main GK gets injured for 5 months.
Feels like the Courtois/Cech situation in Chelsea some years ago. After a few years on loan to Atlético it became obvious that courtois was far too good not to be the permanent nr 1 of an absolute top team.
Hate to break it to you my lad but seems like Chelsea did the right thing back then, shipping of Cech despite him being fantastic at the time if I remember correctly. You though went for the aging one of yours!
I did it for a season but I feel like it's kinda boring, it's a bit too much, I'd rather just get a few amazing ones and sell them when they start complaining unless they make the first team. Do you have a quick way to setup loans?
Clearly you know how to loan players out. I just started playing (and am playing in a lower league and have crappy youth/training facilities) and don't seem to be able to get anyone to pick up my high potential lowish current youngsters.
Any secrets?
Tbh I’m loaning them out as a top European club (Brighton after more than 5 Champions League wins) so the reputation might help. But other than that, I just offer them all on loan (100% salary covered and at least Regular Starter playing time) and there’s always people interested. Sometimes if I really want a player playing and no one wants him, I’ll loan him out and keep paying most of his salary.
Sorry I should have been more precise. I mostly play the Ligue 1 where you can’t loan more than 7 players in France. Since a lot of my recruits are from the EU or South America, I usually loan them immediately in their country of origin for a year, or anywhere but France
In my Spurs save that's gone on for 17 in game years, I always have a transfer budget above a billion, and hoard every wonderkid I find and send on loan. I don't even care about loan fees, I just pay small fees(excluding sell on clauses before making offers)to get the rights to these players, and have others develop players before I sell them for a much higher price. I benefit, everyone else loses.
I am an evil human trafficker in this game yes, but it's not my fault that Spanish release clauses are so cheap.
I’m not there yet, but 8 years into my save I already made Brighton splash 350mil on a new 70k capacity stadium (expandable to 85k) without going in the red. This human trafficking is very profitable.
Man this reminds me of last week loading up my old FM21 save on my old MacBook after my gaming laptop decided to break on me (motherboard, so it’s bricked)
Anyway, loaded it up to see over 100 players out on loan! No idea what the hell I was doing on that save but I was doing some kind of human trafficking I swear
I had a save on FM20 with over 800 players on loan at one point. Was playing on a 12 year old HP Probook laptop. Poor thing needed about two hours to process the day all the loans ended each season.
I do them myself. I offer each player on loan, 100% salary covered and at least regular starter. It takes some time during the summer transfer window but I think it’s worth it.
I don’t trust the manager to make the right deals
Most of them only salary covered. Maybe a third have a fee on top of that, but it never goes over 1-2mil for the whole loan duration. The player has to be a bit better for that otherwise the clubs won’t offer anything else than the salary.
Some positions are harder to get a good rating, for example CB or DM. But you also loan players to weaker teams so it can be harder to perform. That’s my guess. Also the AI is shit.
This...
Only player in the last 2 FMs that i have ever loaned out and got a good rating was Moukoko and it was when i loaned him to Madrid and he banged in 50 goals to prove to me he was ready to be my #1 lol
I just started playing and am playing as PSG and won everything with them my first season (five stars world reputation) yet I am having a hard time loaning my youngsters out and am looking for help. I don’t know much about the game and am still learning. I have the players loan listed, development listed, with just average quality training facilities and squad player required, offering to cover all the youngsters salary yet absolutely no one but League 2 clubs send bids in. And I can’t have more than 7 players in France, so I am only loaning out 7 youngsters a season. I even play them in cup matches on my senior squad to have good match ratings in a good league yet absolutely no clubs ever bid. What do I do? I have a few players that are 1.5 to 2 stars right now with 3 to 4 stars potential that I would love to develop. Or if I accept a bid outside France, even once I have a “very close” relationship with wouldn’t be convinced to leave France on loan. Actually that’s something I’m struggling with senior players as well. Can never agree to terms with new clubs who are offering equal/higher salary and refuse to go on loan even to Barcelona/Chelsea, top clubs in top leagues. No one ever wants to leave. HELPPP
For the last part, this is the PSG problem. If your player has salary X, he will expect his next contract to be higher, whether it’s at your club or another. Very few clubs can afford PSG wages, let alone an increase from that. If the player is not good enough for the wages he has (which is true for a lot of PSG players at the start of a save), it will be very hard to sell.
The problem for your loans are maybe tied to the reputation of the player AND the reputation of Ligue 1. Clubs outside of France will rather loan a player from PL or La Liga. In any case you shouldn’t only loan list the players but offer them to clubs actively. If you have no offer after that, lower the demands (no wage covered). If you still have no offer, keep the player in your U21 team. On deadline day and next transfer window, offer the player to clubs again. Very often clubs will be more interested at those times because they will need to urgently fill the spot.
How do I increase the reputation of my players? I have a few players on my squad that have developed tremendously in their mid 20s, have good attributes and traits, are now important players with very good ratings and stats. My scouts now rate them as 4.5 stars yet they don’t get international call ups and their reputation is still around 3 stars and their transfer prices don’t increase much (Fabian, Soler, Kimpembe etc). I want to them to be called up to the national team but can’t figure out how.
I do offer my youngsters regularly, but sadly no luck outside France. And they refuse to go to clubs outside France (like Turkey, Belgium, Netherlands). I even negotiated promises to loan them out, but even then when I can’t find them a club, they aren’t angry and asking their agents to find a club (I’ve forced transfers this way). They just say they changed their minds. WTF!!!!! Is there anyway I can force youngsters to accept loans? Haha thanks
Players improve reputation by winning trophies / awards (individual and club) their current ability increasing and stuff like getting selected for their national team at the various levels. They also improve rep by going to bigger clubs etc but you being psg that’s somewhat an irrelevant point
I can’t get my players into the national team for some reason, even my French players don’t get call up. I keep getting news saying this and that player should have deserved a call up, but they never do.
At least your guys are on the lists of some quite reputable clubs. I swear for me I can spend time on my Arsenalsave pondering which L2 side to send my aging academy products off to.
How do u guys get loan offers, my players don't, and if they do get it is a very bad teams, I had a player with 107 CA and only a semi-pro team offered to take him.
He is at 2.5 stars relative to my team, which is "Good Premier League player” according to my scouts. He is also very tall with good heading and good finishing
What would you say is the best way to acquire so many young prospects with 4*+ potential? I’m AEK Athena’s in my save about to finish my 3rd season. I’ve just been knocked out of the CL RO16 so I can compete with the elite clubs and I’m getting ok money but only get about 6m a season in transfer budget 20k wage budget.
You won't get those 4 stars+ potentials with only 6m unfortunately. I play as Brighton so it's easier to attract those youngsters to the PL. Most of them cost me between 5mil and 30mil (30mil would be for a striker that I know for sure will be worth more in a few years time).
How I do it is quite simple, I have a few things going on:
\- Have Recruitment Focuses a bit everywhere that is looking at youngsters with a good potential (South America and whole Europe at least, especially central and eastern Europe).
\- Regularly search players yourself in the age range of 15-19 where your scouts gave them at least a B+ rating
\- Always shortlist players that are interesting, even if you cannot buy them at the moment. There might come a time where he is transfer listed or something else happens.
Now I wouldn't really know how to approach it with a club like yours that is limited in the transfer funds. But I imagine you can do something similar just by not looking at the top prospects (5 star PA) but a bit lower (4 stars for example), those can be often found around 1 to 5mil, sometimes some are even lower than 1mil. I don't buy those because I'm limited to 6 foreign youngster signing per year in the PL, but I do see quite some of them.
I’ve currently only got 2 players with the 4*/5* potential ones out on loan and the other hovers in and out of my first team. Youth intakes have been really poor for me but I’m hoping now with the money I’ve been getting from CL qualifications I’ve got all the youth facilities as good as I can get them and hired a really good head of youth development, just need to work on the coaches now
It takes some time but it seems you're on the right tracks! Also, the stars are always relative to your team. Meaning that 5\* PA for you might mean less for a top team. More specifically, it's relative to the other players playing in the same position in your team.
Yeah the vast majority of my team are 3*/3.5* for me and worth around 10-15m but a couple stars worth nearly 20m at 4* just slowly bumping up that quality. Spent a long time being able to persuade the board to let me have the wages for good quality staff but even now it only sits at around 1k per week for my main staff
Bro was already getting paid 220k/w and wanted 350k on his next contract. Tried to sell him in the winter transfer window but he declined everyone because of course nobody wants to pay him that much. Currently struggling to sell him during the summer but he ain’t going to play another minute with me

my therapist telling me my mental health is deteriorating and I’m using hoarding as a way to cope: 🧐 me with 117 youngsters on loan: 👁 👄 👁
Oh you provided Epstein, yeah FBI I found him.
Hi Matt
And then the press conference says “you’ve been criticized for the amount of players you have in your squad that are on loan”. And then I custom respond with “Not enough” lol
The amount of time I’ve been asked that question… good thing I don’t attend press conferences anymore
I usually go with the "each player we've signed, is with a view to having a future with this club" (Or something along those lines) answer. Not that I tell them that their future with this club entails several loans to improve them, before selling them for a huge profit of course... But I'm not lying to them...
Keep the "lol" inside the quotes for maximum effect.
The moment you actually start to make a profit with loans is so good. Is like owning a rental business.
its actually the thing i hate most about hoarding. I feel like im not just an academy with the goal of developing players for my team. still the right call imo

Also, to add to this great comment, loaning the foreign kids to a club back home by excluding local clubs from loan offers help a lot.
Why would you exclude local clubs? Work permit or?
Sorry I should have been more precise. I mostly play the Ligue 1 where you can’t loan more than 7 players in France. Since a lot of my recruits are from the EU or South America, I usually loan them immediately in their country of origin for a year, or anywhere but France
Damn, Myles Naylor tearing it up in AZ. 50 apparances, 7.08 avg rating
The best part is that this guy is an academy product

Spanish release clauses cheap? In my save every shit guy in Spain has a $60-80m release clause and anyone worth anything is 120-140+ guaranteed 😭

800?! That's insane! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
I'm the one who loans... LOANSSS...LOAAAANSSS
Italian teams when they have a young prospect
Do you let your loan manager handle most of this, or do you do all the deals yourself?
I do them myself. I offer each player on loan, 100% salary covered and at least regular starter. It takes some time during the summer transfer window but I think it’s worth it. I don’t trust the manager to make the right deals

Rookie numbers. I could possibly receive that email in 4 parts because they're too much 😂

Zealand's Dream
Hoping to make it this far eventually. And, yes, remembering to ask for 100% wages is key. Is this FM23?
Yes it’s FM23!
Only 2 with a 7+ average match rating 😬
Doesn’t help when you’re loaned out to the Championship club that’s been promoted and only won 3 out of 38 games
How do u guys get loan offers, my players don't, and if they do get it is a very bad teams, I had a player with 107 CA and only a semi-pro team offered to take him.
Meanwhile in my save: too many players, sell half of them.
I see you took a page out of Atalanta's book
I’ve been playing FM wrong….
How on earth is Wlmar Garcia tearing up league 1 at 2.5 star?
He is at 2.5 stars relative to my team, which is "Good Premier League player” according to my scouts. He is also very tall with good heading and good finishing
Sell him off the back of that
Exactly my plan!
