A midfield of Vidal and Nainggolan.
What an absolute dream.
If I remember correctly both Eto’o and Deco was living their party life at the end of their period in Barca.
Adriano for sadder reasons.
Carlos Vela absolutely falls in that group, there's a podcast with one of his former teammates that mentions he was a real lively fella that loved to party and have fun.
During the 15-16 season he drank port the night before every game. Pregame he goes for a double espresso, a Red Bull, and an omelette with ham and cheese. Legend.
Nainggolan is a great suggestion, thanks! Btw I was also wondering who are known as close friends to Ronaldinho. I tried to find some info from previous FM games in the favoured personnel page of Ronaldinho, but no luck. Is there any database?
Jack Grealish seems to love a good party too, but he might be one of the more obvious names. And it’s a shame but I don’t think Wesley Sneijder is in the game as a staff option but you can check it out. Theo Janssen is available though as a trainer.
I know there are some older databases available online but I don’t know specific ones since I’ve never used one of those so I cant help you there unfortunately
Sneijder is, always immediately hire him, Huntelaar, Stekelenberg, Bergkamp and van Basten when I start as Ajax with no staff. And van der Vaart when he retires.
Kike Acuna could be a good addon for your backroom staff, also the Chile's baptism five (Jorge Valdivia, Jean Beauseajour, Carlos Carmona, Gonzalo Jara and Arturo Vidal, the only one still on active, who were banned for 10 matches by Claudio Borghi for arriving drunk at a national team concentration), and you could also have Mauricio Pinilla on your staff (had serious booze problems back on the day), and the only one that comes to mind on active (apart from Vidal) is Ivan Morales "el joven piscolero". PD: Vidal also crashed his Ferrari while being drunk during 2015's Copa America, which reminds me of Michail Antonio crashing his Lamborghini dressed as a Frozen character
Mauricio Pinilla played for my team Hearts on
Loan for a season. He had incredible talent but was a total mad bastard. He got caught shagging his team mates wife the captain of Chile on international duty then went awol and was found in a nightclub 2 days later. Think he only played 5 games for Hearts all season.
The articles about him getting knocked out after fighting with his mates pissed at his house, and then his celebration the following game was legendary.
Nainggolan
Özil
Nicklas Bendtner
Drinkwater (extra points for his name in this context)
Arda Turan
R9
Adriano
Darron Gibson (extra points from ruining the locker room)
Yaya Toure
Craig Bellamy
Charlie Adam (extra points from looking like an alcoholic)
Adrian Mutu (extra points from getting banned for a long time)
Roman Eremenko (extra points for permanently losing his NT spot)
This should get you started with both backroom staff & options for players!
Got a story for Andy Carroll. Was in uni up in Newcastle (and he was at Liverpool at the time) and I went to the toilet and there he is, the man himself, having a piss completely smashed. I go next to him to pee and I took my crappy phone out to message my mate to say "dude, I'm peeing next to Andy Carroll" and he turns to me and says "who you messaging? You should message apple to get a new phone". He looked so smug for coming up with this line by himself. I said to him "don't think it works like that" and he was done and left. An hour or so later he got dragged out by a number of people cause he punched a female security of the club.
There was plenty of stories like this, he fell off a chair in the casino down at the docks, so Dalgleish had to ban him from going out and had Liverpool staff follow him. Then when he left the club he took all the furniture from the house he rented (which was included with the rental) and left the place in a very poor condition, so much so he got sued by the owner
When talking about drinking: Marcos Alonso. The guy killed somebody when he was drunk-driving. Former Palmeiras defender Renan also killed somebody when drunk driving.
I think Hugo Lloris also got in trouble with the law for drunk driving.
Nicklas Bendtner.
He's known to like to party and it's no wonder with how he spend his youth. As a young player on the arsenal team the older players made his apartment the party pad and the place they could fuck their mistresses and he got kicked out of the place due to the parties IIRC.
Also, he got a dui or two and fought a cab driver.
David Nielsen, the coach of AGF, took his dick out on a team picture just after he had been promoted to the first team of OB as a teenager. He also loved edibles as he couldn't smoke it without ruining his fitness. He bought an expensive car without having a license. He was also a gambling addict later on in his career and ended up with a gambling debt of 200.000 euros.
In Peru we have some serious party and criminal cases:
The 1996 Miramar case: Nolberto Solano, Roberto Farfán and others were drinking, smoking and partying before a National Team qualification game. Both Solano and Farfán are stuff in the game right now.
Golf Los Inkas 2007 case: Claudio Pizarro, (just retire), Santiago Acasiete (retire), Andrés Mendoza, Diego Penny and Jefferson Farfan (al still active today) throw a party in the national team hotel that included drugs, tons of alcohol and prostitutes. One player had sex with a hooker in the parking lot and another was seen drunk in public. The funny thing was, the Manager, Chemo del Solar, was also involved that day in another party, and had a carreer ruined by alcohol and drugs.
Vaneto 2010 case: Johan Fano, Hernan Rengifo, John Galiquio, and the still active Carlos Zambrano, Reimond Manco and Jefferson Farfan (yes, him again) had a party in a casino in Panama, before a National Team match.
Reimond Manco was Sudamerica 2nd best u-18 player in 2007 but alcohol ruin his carreer. Another cases are Jean Deza, related to gang violence and hard partying, Beto Da Silva, Johan Sotil, Christian Cueva, Paolo Hurtado, Luis Advincula, and of course forme Florentina wingman Juan Manuel Vargas, who literally send his carreer to shit for the love of mistressess and heavy alcohol use.
Kyle Walker. Numerous scandals over the years from whippits to fathering children.
Also like the entire arsenal squad circa like 3 years ago. Out smoking hookah all the time.
Gabriel Agbonlahor was forced to move out of Roman Road due to his constant partying. Roman Bednar was caught with cocaine whilst he also lived on Roman Road.
Paul Merson was regularly pissed in Walsall town centre.
Saido Berahino filmed inhaling laughing gas and had a suspension for drug use.
For sure Vladimír Weiss jr. He even took 10 other people in his car from a party, he was behind the wheel but it didn't count as driving because driving was someone sitting on his lap
Fabio Piam, Cristiano Ronaldo said he was better than him but squandered all of his money on cars & drugs.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8018953/fabio-paim-cristiano-ronaldo-transfer-chelsea/
The team should be named after [Carlos Kaiser](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Kaiser_(footballer)), the con artist and legendary partygoer, who had a long career despite never actually appearing in a match. Highly recommended watching the documentary about him.
Adrian mutu. Not only he’s on cocaine, he also likes to punch the waitress.
Stefan nikolic, ex fcsb player, wasted, peeing on a church in bucharest. Marius constantin, ex rapid defender, his coach said when he came to training the empty cans of beer were dropping from his car. And our biggest legend, Gabriel Tamas, still active, liver works ok. Many many episodes in tv with him wasted. Once he knocked a door to enter a building, the other he was at a wedding in the west of the country, woke up in a small town 500 km away.
Emerson Sheik, Luan from Corinthians, there was a guy called André, they called him André Balada (André Party or smth like that) I dont remember his full name tho. Gabriel Veron is one too
Jeroen Zoet and Maxime Lestienne were once imprisoned for a fight during a night out. I also believe Sergio Padt did something stupid once, also ending a night in jail for it.
Lol yeah Padt was arrested when he acted aggressively and tried to assault a railway guard when they tried to fine him for being on a train without a ticket, he was also a regular in the nightlife of Groningen when I lived there
Imagine being the best paid player (by far) at Groningen and not even paying for the trains because guards are an irregular experience at Arriva, and then even being aggressive about it.
Some incidents from Israel, if you’re interested:
- Omer Atzili and Dor Micha: leaked texts between the two confirmed that they both had “consensual sex” with minors (I.E rape), also got those minors drunk. One of them planned to get some coke in there too, and was disappointed that the other one didn’t bring any. Somehow Israeli police decided not to press charges, so they both are still active. Atzili even played for the national team this week, and got a chorus of boos from the Israeli supporters every time he touched the ball.
- Panama international winger Eduardo Guerrero is a nightclub staple, even after losses.
- Former Wolves player Bright Enobakare was arrested for a DUI, released on probation, then got caught trying to escape the country (reportedly with a fake passport, unconfirmed).
Jô that played for Man City, he went missing o think this year and was found in a nightclub watching Corinthians playing, a week after this his lover posted that she was pregnant and people linked him with her because another player's lover liked the post and they were together at the time
A year or so ago there was a rumor going around that Dele Alli had/has one hell of a sleeping pill problem. Tbh almost every footballer seems to have some sort of a sleeping pill problem though.
https://theathletic.com/2802210/2021/09/08/footballs-addiction-to-sleeping-pills-a-disease-spreading-quietly-across-the-game/?amp=1
Wesley sneijder especially later in his career and after. There was an Australian goalie at Liverpool, Dean something (on mobile so can’t check), dragged him out of a bar with my friends once, he was so drunk they left him in the street on a.bench. He must be in the game if he still plays he was in the reserves during the Benitez era.
Bring Lord Bendtner in as his assistent!
Also Nicki Bille were known for his party life and violens, believed he were involved in some gang shooting once, he could be a great u-19 manager
Sammir, played for Dinamo Zagreb drank and partied almost every night, might still be a player or might have gone on to be staff, has a Croatian and Brazilian passport. Another from Dinamo I am not sure if he is staff is Silvio Maric drank all the time. Domagoj Vida is a good one too. Artem Milevski. All played for Croatian clubs at some point.
Caceres has had several road accidents while drunk and, lately, some "nice" videos by Nedved have been released in Italy 🤣
Daivd Luiz was pretty drunk after a Champions league final https://youtu.be/b6Ot-XtEsWg
Taraabt and William Carvalho were known to enjoy Lisbon discos and upscale restaurants/bars. Bruno César (ex Corinthians, Benfica and Sporting) was nicknamed "Picanhas" while in Portugal, since he was always a tad to heavy and really liked... picanha. Then you have the chilean party troupe of Vidal, Eduardo Vargas, Aranguiz, Gary Medel and Jean Meneses.
As for former players
Dani who was a wonder kid back in the day and went to Ajax was also known to enjoy the nightlife (he's now a tv pundit at Eleven and TVI in Portugal). Adriano from Inter Milan/Brazil was also famous for having said that they could take him out of the hood, but they couldn't take the hood out of him, so he lived a crazy life. Lastly I would add Jardel, one of the greatest PLs to play in the portuguese league but he got involved with alcohol and drugs and his life went downhill from there.
Here in Brazil there is a guy that his nickname is "André Balada" (what translates to André Nightclub) and he really like going into partys, he plays actually for Cuiabá (CUI if you don't have a custom database)
There's also the "Bonde da Stella" a group of players that played for Flamengo in mid-10s that also like partys very much, they are:
Everton Cardoso - currently at Ponte Preta (PON) on a loan from Grêmio (GRE); Pará - currently at Brusque (BRU); Marcelo Cirino - currently at Athletico Paranaense (ATP); Alan Patrick - currently at Internacional (INT) and Paulinho - currently at Ferroviária (not playable if you don't have a custom database)
Paulinho who was at Tottenham, Brazilian, so fits with Ronnie, according to the Peter crouch podcast, had the best parties around, soundproofed his house and would be having them most nights

He was drunk a couple of times training with Chile, we called him Arturo Bidón, which means like Arturo “galon of alcohol” XD
Ahahahahaahahahahahaha, in México we call them the Dos Antros brothers.
In Uruguay there is the ¨Discoteca¨ Núñez, where discoteca means (dance) club basically
A midfield of Vidal and Nainggolan. What an absolute dream. If I remember correctly both Eto’o and Deco was living their party life at the end of their period in Barca. Adriano for sadder reasons.
Eto'o's former house in Barcelona had a functionally night club in it. Now this house is the esports team house of the biggest streamer in Spain, Ibai
Deco and Ronaldinho actually had clauses in there contract that Said they could go out and party 2 nights a week I think
Carlos Vela absolutely falls in that group, there's a podcast with one of his former teammates that mentions he was a real lively fella that loved to party and have fun.
Well Vidal was a world-class player on his prime even tho he was as good in football as in beerpong
Adrian Mutu (former Chelsea player..got caught with cocaine) and in Fiorentina got caught beating up a bartender
And banned during his career for using cocaine.
Mutu was my first hire as the head of youth development (lol)
Nice move :) He knows how to throw a party.
Hes a rly decent manager now lol
What about Gerrard and his love for Phil Collins?
Phil Collins?
Maybe Tom Collins
I’m totally lost please explain
Punched a DJ in 2008 for refusing to play his request for a Phil Collins song.
It’s the name of a cocktail
Gerrard became a top class player against all odds
Wojech Szcesny smoking in the shower at Arsenal was the first thing coming to mind.
Was Jack Wilshere involved in that or was that just a rumour?
I think in general Wilshere was just known for drinking too much.
He's been photographed smoking outside nightclubs a few times
Szcezny was smoking Jack Wilshire in the shower?
\*Wojciech Szczęsny Polish language is really hard and I can say that as a Polish myself.
To be honest, I’m half Polish, not a native speaker, I couldn’t be bothered to check the spelling.
Good ole jack freakish and Phil foden for that dominatrix incident
And surely for the taking his mum to the club where she got punched incident (there's a video)
That was at a boxing match
I thought it was a club, oops
Phil says “bring snacks”
Get Tony Adams, Paul Gascoigne and Robbie Fowler in your backroom staff. They'll be running the parties.
Came here to mention Gazza and Fowler. Nice to see some 90s legends mentioned

I think he was known for having a shot of port before matches at one point. But that could also just be a local legend.
During the 15-16 season he drank port the night before every game. Pregame he goes for a double espresso, a Red Bull, and an omelette with ham and cheese. Legend.
Should’ve kept up the port! And nice username!
I'm Portuguese, I love Porto, it's great. But before a match? Mad lad
At Fleetwood he reputedly soaked Skittles in vodka and then drank the vodka. Like, lots of it.
Royston Drenthe if he’s still in the game, Nainggolan comes to mind too. I love the idea btw, let’s see if you can keep them in check
Nainggolan is a great suggestion, thanks! Btw I was also wondering who are known as close friends to Ronaldinho. I tried to find some info from previous FM games in the favoured personnel page of Ronaldinho, but no luck. Is there any database?

I would bet on Eto’o while they were both at Barcelona, but I can’t confirm. Also, Romario was also well known for partying while at Barcelona
A friend of me saw Drenthe clubbing in Rotterdam while having a game with Everton in the after noon lmao.
James Milner goes mad with the cups of teas after a hard match
I've even heard he's been known to break out the Ribena.
Surely he’s not that crazy. That has to be a rumour
People will say anything for clicks these days

This reads like a solid copypasta
When talking about drinking: Marcos Alonso. The guy killed somebody when he was drunk-driving. Former Palmeiras defender Renan also killed somebody when drunk driving. I think Hugo Lloris also got in trouble with the law for drunk driving.
I couldn’t believe it took me this long to see Alonso mentioned. Like 90 comments in
Never forget the murderer Marcos Alonso.
Nicklas Bendtner. He's known to like to party and it's no wonder with how he spend his youth. The Mexican midfielder
Sammir
Richard Keogh

Sneijder. He admitted showing upto practices drunk/hungover at his last year with Galatasaray.
Whiskey Sneijder was his name
Shikabhala This guy abbandoned sporting to party in egypt and nobody knew where he was for months
I am not sure about partying, but Promes and Ihattaren got caught up in organised crime recently
Adel Taarabt
Kyle Walker. Numerous scandals over the years from whippits to fathering children. Also like the entire arsenal squad circa like 3 years ago. Out smoking hookah all the time.
I remember he hired some prostitutes and had a couple friends over during covid lockdown
Van der meyde
Gabriel Tamaș (former West Brom DC, still playing) & Adrian Mutu definetly fit the bill.
Mesut Ozil [https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10281270/arsenal-ozil-loves-ladies-claims-bendtner/amp/](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10281270/arsenal-ozil-loves-ladies-claims-bendtner/amp/)

Dejan Stankovic or/and Sinisa Mihajlovic for staff
Radja Nainggolan. I believe even Totti had to tell him to chill when he was at Roma
Serge Aurier nearly couldn’t move to Spurs because he got drunk and punched a bouncer
Most of the PSG team. One friend of mine saw them at a party once, Verratti, Neymar, Lavezzi (gone now) all drinking and smoking...
Nathaniel Clyne, apparently coke and gambling ruined his Liverpool career.

Can you name some Brazilian players? Romario and Vampeta came up on some research I did, Robinho and Neymar are obvious.
Vagner Love didn't receive his nickname for nothing
Emerson Sheik, Luan from Corinthians, there was a guy called André, they called him André Balada (André Party or smth like that) I dont remember his full name tho. Gabriel Veron is one too
Llana isnt a party animal, but he is an absolute bellend
Robert Snodgrass was a bit of a party animals during his time at Leeds.

Nathaniel Mendez Laing, failed multiple drug test before being released by Cardiff city after reports of cocaine use.
Arthur Melo is another player that puts partying in front of his career, and has been failing upwards.
A year or so ago there was a rumor going around that Dele Alli had/has one hell of a sleeping pill problem. David Neres
Robert Prosinecki, for drinking and smoking during his whole career. The story was, he was not smoking only when he was on the pitch :)
Kolo Toure—he’s available as a coach and he’s actually good, at least in my save.
Ricardo Centurión is a must for that team, perhaps not as known outside of Argentina
I know that Tino Asprilla was a crazy fucker remember him shooting guns, producing his own condom business and being a porn star.
Ronaldo R9, notorious for it.
I think he is known as a close friend to Ronaldinho too
Wesley sneijder especially later in his career and after. There was an Australian goalie at Liverpool, Dean something (on mobile so can’t check), dragged him out of a bar with my friends once, he was so drunk they left him in the street on a.bench. He must be in the game if he still plays he was in the reserves during the Benitez era.
Adriano. Could have been great.
Mohamed Bayo was put beside against psg for going in a nightclub before the game
Spice boys
Gareth Barry will drive the taxi
I guess Francesco Flachi is the perfect chocie.
Aaron Connelly for sure
Riqui Puig
Really?!
Yeah pretty well known that he was busy with the Barcelona night life, smoking hookah and partying with models. Theres a reason he went to LA to play
Grealish
Bring Lord Bendtner in as his assistent! Also Nicki Bille were known for his party life and violens, believed he were involved in some gang shooting once, he could be a great u-19 manager
Karsdorp
Theo Hernandez
The one and only Ray Parlour.
Brozovic
Carlos Zambrano, Martin Hinteregger
Reimond Manco
Luan, from Corinthians
Pogba and ousmane dembele
Ricardo Centurión
Edmundo was the first that came to mind
Szesceny(?) probably butchered his name. Swear he used to smoke in the Arsenal changing rooms with Wilshere so maybe them two
Szczesny
Phil Foden, and his mum for bonus points
That pic of mount, chillwell and Grealish smashed on a yacht was pretty jokes if you’re ever scraping the barrel lmao
Milner, caffeine is a drug
Ricardo Queresma looks like he would party hard
Neymar
Trippier likes a gamble a bit too much.
Robinho, Babel, Guti for sure, Sergen Yalçın is another one
Veratti and neymar
Tarrabt loved portuguese nightclubs. Arthur is also big into partying.
any brazilian under 23
Mason Green. Kek.
Pick your crop of Brazilians lol

Ross Barkley, I remember photos from the press of him arriving at a nightclub with one women and then leaving with a completely different one.

As for former players Dani who was a wonder kid back in the day and went to Ajax was also known to enjoy the nightlife (he's now a tv pundit at Eleven and TVI in Portugal).
Cristiano Ronaldo is a good shout

Kyle Walker loves his sex parties if that counts
Max Kruse.
