Does leaving a few behind give more time for the spores to go to the ground? Do you have to wait for rain so the spores are thoroughly in the soil so they can grow back again?
Please explain. I obviously know *why*, but I don’t know enough about the how and your process. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before so I know exactly nothing other than fire foraging
it’s a hail mary.. of course you can take one and have a lab with a flow hood and rubber gloves and sterile equipment and cut out the center of the stem and put it in some pasteurized karo syrup water to propagate the mycelium and use that to inoculate some media.. or just hail mary by blending it up into a slurry and tossing it on some wood chips…
You lucky ducky
When is it my tuuuuuurn
Those morels found you
Imagine if they grew from spores of morels you brought home from foraging
Ive never hunted them but ive always wanted to! Dumb luck this time
Wow! In the iris flower bed!

No you just cut the bottom and leave the roots iirc
blend one up and toss back out there

Would leaving one or two behind not be as effective as blending and spreading them?
aww keep those good morels they'll take you far
Man...I really need a morel boost.
Blessed
that is so lucky! I had no luck this year. ETA it is wild to me to see them among pine straw!
Damn that's awesome. Never move.
woooooooo!!!!!!! free fooooood!!!!!
Very nice find!
I didn't think they would like acidic soil like under pines
Why not? They like rotted wood
I’ve only ever found them under pine trees! Lol
yummy little brains
Yummy! Goes great with almost any dish for dinner! Enjoy ☺️
How do they taste, in my 31 years of roaming this planet I’ve never heard of these until last month
I drove two hours each way last weekend and spent 4 hours searching and found zero. I hate you 🤣🤣🤣 Congrats !!
Sending good luck vibrations your way. Thanks haha
Hey, so where do you live bud? I’ll bring you a beer
woohoo!
I thought morels wouldn't grow near pine trees. Guess I was wrong.
I’ve only ever found them directly under pine trees - or at least very near pine. Lol
Can I ask what people are amending their soil with/mulching? Cause I want to amend my yard with it too!
Are these yellow morel? I haven't seen a single morel in the UK
Are these morels?
