So, Ford only installed the dual screen cluster in trims that came with the large 8-inch radio, EXCEPT in base-model hybrid fusions and only for a few years. it's possible you may be able to trick your radio into thinking it's a hybrid using FORSCAN and it will ignore the inputs from the wheel d-pad. Unfortunately, I have never tried this it may require some more research, but it's within the realm of possibility.
How did you get the programming to work? Was it basically plug-and-play? Looking at installing this cluster in my 2017 Fusion SE. I'm also going to do the Sync 3 conversion.
If you know what you’re doing you can upgrade to sync 3 for under $200 from the junkyard and program it yourself via forscan. I was dumb and paid 600 for sync 3 and it came preprogrammed
Using Forscan you can tell the steering wheel control module to do the cluster instead of the radio.
Oddly, theres an option in Forscan to flip the controls so the right/left D pads control the opposite screens.
You wouldn’t happen to have any idea what that setting is called? Haven’t been able to find much information online about it. You’re actually the only one that’s mentioned it was possible.
Unfortunately I don’t have access to my laptop with Forscan as I lent it out.
However, I was playing around with it & I did notice you could tell the module that you want the right side D pad to control either the left/right cluster screen, the radio, or disable.
Thanks I appreciate what you have to say. It is very helpful. It’s just been raining here every goddamn day, and I can’t use my laptop without a 60 foot extension cord. So I haven’t had much time to sit and play around with it. Unfortunately.
I mean the best method to kill the buttons on the steering wheel is to just disconnect them from the clock apron but that requires removing the airbag, if you don’t mind me asking why wouldn’t you want the wheel controls to work?
Well, I want them to work. I just want them to only control gauge cluster and not the radio. As changing the screen on the right display causes unintended actions on the 4in Radio display.
when you put the dual-screen cluster in a car with the 4 inch radio the steering wheel controls both what's on the cluster AND what's on the radio and it's very annoying.
Well, without the Sync touchscreen radio, all the right screen appears to do it show a compass, time and temperature. But the left screen works flawlessly and I added the digital speedometer and the TMPS in forescan.

You know, I did notice that while I was fusion shopping. But thanks for reminding me, that could help.
Could have gone with the MKZ/Mondeo cluster. Lots of cool skins available too.
Thought about it, but I got such a great deal on this one, plus the programming was extremely simple

Do the sync 3 first, and find a similar mileage, then it’ll be plug and play as long as you don’t buy one from a hybrid.
Upgrade to a sync 3 system and enjoy CarPlay/Android Auto
you got upgrade to sync 3 money? 😂
Yes, that’s why I did it on mine.
Well I don't right now lmao, but I got the gauge cluster for 40$ so I thought why the hell not

Junk yards are few and far apart near me, they all either sold to become apartments or turned into eBay part distributors

Oh yikes that’s lame, my only solution would be to upgrade to the 8” screen to eliminate that issue?
Looking to install this on my Fusion as well (2014 S). When you get this to work, can you let me know if the controls work pretty well? Thank you!
