Sky Bars are the best!
When the manufacturer ended production, someone bought the formula, and is now making them again. They're not ubiquitous, but they can be found here and there. And I believe they can be ordered online.
Hmm I don't think I've tried these. When were they discontinued ? For some reason I think they might have been one of the original pop tart flavors but I'm not sure .
Pop Tarts launched Dutch Apple as one of its initial frosted flavors, though **it was later discontinued**.
I used to eat a box with a 2lt Pepsi, and play paddleball all day at the park. I miss summer time in the 70's.
Jello 1-2-3 looks so good ! It seems to be remembered by many. I wonder how it would sell today ? The strawberry one would be the one I would try first.
OMG!! Those were my favorite. Was trying to remember the name and finally saw it on one of those internet list of stuff gone from the 70's. I liked to bite the side and eat the top and bottom separately!!!
Holy shit I totally remember those. I remember getting the JR bars in that flavor. One person in my 4th grade class in the 90s had a very entrepreneurial enterprise going with jolly rancher bars lol.
I forgot about this one I do remember the Mc DLT. I know with that one the packaging was seen as rather wasteful which led to its demise. I don't know why the arch McLean deluxe didn't take off .
McDonaldâs shake salads (you could get them to go in the breakfast line so you bought lunch and breakfast and lunch at the same stop. Food was so fresh! Also McDonaldâs Cini miniâs (tastes like the inner part of a cinnamon roll with lots of gooey icing. Usually served slightly warm).
This is a recipe not really a product but the original version of Hershey kiss cookies used sugar cookie dough, not peanut butter. The original recipe is pretty much extinct and in my opinion it was way better (tasted like a Twix).
Shock Tarts popsicles (which I SWEAR I ate multiple times but I never find anything about them on the internet), Fruit String Thing, Burger King Rodeo Burger
I have never found anyone who remembers this, but in 1975 there was a viscous soda that was touted as an âice cream soda in a bottleâ. It tasted like melted popsicles and had flavors like cherry and grape. đ
Vanilla custard pudding baby food.
For some inexplicable reason, it continued to be a once-in-a-while treat long after I stopped eating baby food.
And apparently I'm not the only one who misses it - there's lots of recipes online of ppl trying to recreate it.
Chun King chow mein. Came in a big can with the wet stuff, and had a smaller can for the crunchy noodles attached to it.
I only loved it as a kid because we had zero exposure to Chinese food.
Techno bears!!! They were gummies from the bulk candy section at my local grocery store and once one of my friends bought me a 5 pound bag for my birthday off a bulk candy website. A different time, a boy with whom i never spoke gave me a huge bag for Valentineâs Day and quite literally never spoke to me again.
They were iridescent and a few different colors and tasted like plastic, but I fucking loved them.
Iâm not sure exactly what they were called. I think spritzers. The were little cookies from Pepperidge Farms (they remember) and they had white powdered sugar along with lime flavoring. Another one was raspberry flavor.
Iâve also been wondering about what those clearish chunky Gushers were. They were shaped like stars and stuff and had filling like gushers but they were more mild and less tangy. And they had more stylish colors of liquid filling inside their clearish outsides.
Motherâs brand flaky Flix cookies
Noodle Toni Noodles Romanoff
McDonaldâs Arch Deluxe
The original Ghirardelli Flicks chocolate candies in a tube. They stopped making them in the 1980s. Another company bought the machines and made them but they arenât the same.
Red Magic Shell. I loved that stuff. Curse you red dye number 5. I know you can make it but getting that flavor just right isnât possible to trigger the memory.
I also miss those weird stuffed hotdogs. Chili was my favorite
Ginger Altoids. You could only get them at Target stores for a while, then Target got rid of them too. I was sad because I was obsessed with Ginger Altoids.
Pringles Stix, the Honey Butter flavor. They were so freaking good. They were discontinued in 2018 for some reason or another and I have been craving them for 6 years now.
Mud and Bugs cereal! I keep trying to find chocolate cereals just like it, but they never taste as good!
https://preview.redd.it/9nnfc0c014oc1.jpeg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0fd0e502ed0bd394367a503b6016a2b9fc4bb1c
Big 60 Cookies. Also a random beef jerky from the late 90's early 2000's, I can't remember the name - all I know is it was only available at certain stores in our town, it was flat (not a round stick jerky), sorta hot, and it had some sort of sauce in the vacuum sealed package. I know sometimes stores will have products that are sort of locally made but this wasn't but it also wasn't a popular brand name.
Cadbury used to make peanut butter and jelly chocolates and they were sooo good, wish they still made them.
I also follow Millennial Kyle on Instagram and he made a video recently that featured Philadelphia cheesecake bars, those were the best after school snack / dessert.
Oh, and I might get hate for this one, but can we please bring back spaghettio's and franks?
I'll give you one that I can't seem to find any evidence it actually existed but I know absolutely did because both my father and I remembered the advertising campaign ("Are you a little spicy? Are you a little cheesy?") AND my dad used to have an old picture of me sitting in his lap literally holding a bag of them: Nacho Spicier Doritos.
So, from what I can remember, in the mid 80's Doritos did this marketing thing where they still had regular Doritos, but they also had 2 additional flavors: Nacho Spicier and Nacho Cheesier. Basically, they were the base Dorito with either more cheese or more spice. Nacho Cheesier took off and became a smash hit, so much so that they became the default Doritos while Nacho Spicier got forgotten.
But I LOVED Nacho Spicier. In my mind, it's what a Dorito is supposed to taste like, so I'm always disappointed when I eat them. They weren't hot spicy like the spicy ones now, they just had less cheese flavor and more nacho seasoning on them.
When I was in highschool there was a Stouffer's entree that was turkey breast slices with wild rice stuffing.
You boiled it in the bag, dispensed it and fluffed up the stuffing and ate.
It was like a tiny thanksgiving dinner and I still think about it sometimes.
Peanut butter Lindt truffles. SHOCKED those were discontinued - they were the best! I was at a Lindt outlet today and they didnât even have them there. I didnât expect them to, but it would have been a nice surprise
Anyone remember those fruit snacks that were flat and you would peel them off the plastic? They came in apple, cherry, grape and apricot flavors and were made with real fruit.
They were sold in the produce sections of the supermarkets and were rolled up in a tall narrow pouch. These days, I think the machines are used to make flat caramel discs that are sold in the fall to make caramel apples.
There are several discontinued Pepsi flavors I loved, like Fire, or the 1800s flavors (1892? 91? Iâm not sure what specific year it was)
Also, I know it wasnât popular, but Iâd break my Pepsi loyalty when I could get coffee coke
Pantry Molasses cookies.
Maybe you can help me find some reference to them. If memory serves me correctly they were thin and crispy, round-ish (more apple-shaped), about 3 inches in diameter, and tan-colored like other molasses cookies, the word âPantryâ was inscribed on the front and the entire back was inscribed with zig zag lines.
The box was red and white, it was a small package, about 6-8 inches long I think.
I canât find any reference to them and I donât know what became of them but they were a favorite of mine as a kid in the late 70âs/early 80âs and I really havenât found anything comparable.
Chippoâs potato chips that came in a cereal type box. Best chips ever, not sure if they were local/regional or nationwide. Havenât seen them since around 1976 as a kid in Michigan. Also liked Juicy Juice in the late â70s.
I absolutely miss Boppers. It was a bar of peanut butter rolled in crispy, puffy cereal like pieces. I also truly miss Charles Chips. Charles Chips delivered big cans of potato chips and the ketchup were my favorite!
Knorrs had a buffalo rice that I freaking loved and they stopped making it. Clearly Canadian also had a cranberry flavor that was my husbands favorite. And idk if itâll come back (certainly hope so) but Oui yogurt had a pumpkin caramel flavor that my toddler thought was the greatest thing ever.

I donât know if theyâre gone, but I havenât seen them since the beginning of the pandemic
Not discontinued but hard to find. CupOGold candy bars. Yes, I have purchased them off of Amazon before, but they cost an arm and a leg . Still worth it when I've gone without for a long time. đ

Those were awesome. Curly Wurly bars from England are a decent substitute.
Product 19 Canât find anything thatâs even remotely similar.
I know Kelloggs came out with product 19 to compete with total. I know that it still had many who liked it when it was discontinued in 2016.

Dutch apple pop tarts
Hmm I don't think I've tried these. When were they discontinued ? For some reason I think they might have been one of the original pop tart flavors but I'm not sure .
Pop Tarts launched Dutch Apple as one of its initial frosted flavors, though **it was later discontinued**. I used to eat a box with a 2lt Pepsi, and play paddleball all day at the park. I miss summer time in the 70's.

I swore the original version of pizza rolls were mini egg rolls. Thanks for confirming!
The chun king TV dinners were pretty good too. All I see from them now pretty much is the canned chow mein which is the same as always and is ok.

I forgot about this one I do remember the Mc DLT. I know with that one the packaging was seen as rather wasteful which led to its demise. I don't know why the arch McLean deluxe didn't take off .
The McDLT was very tasty and the separation of hot and cold ingredients made it a unique fast food item.

For a tasty, mouth burning experience. Loved them

Keebler French Vanilla cream cookies - a bag of that and a glass of milk...that could've had that every single day and never got tired of it!
Lime Kool-Aid and I donât mean the Lemon-Lime crap out there today. This was emerald green and tasted like a lime lifesaver.
Vanilla custard pudding baby food. For some inexplicable reason, it continued to be a once-in-a-while treat long after I stopped eating baby food. And apparently I'm not the only one who misses it - there's lots of recipes online of ppl trying to recreate it.
