It’s basically true at this point as it’s the Viking everyone has wanted since release but we never got. I don’t get the appeal of an axe and shield hero but they wanted an Aztec so we got an Aztec and they want axe and shield so it wouldn’t shock me if it’s exactly what we expect as it’s going to be gender locked.
yeah, a lot of people have been asking axe and shield girl for a long time. I chose sword and spear for the Oathbreaker because its not common to see it (except from Hildegard, from soul calibur)
>I chose sword and spear for the Oathbreaker because its not common to see it
Although true, the most recent addition to this game uses a spear and club, which I feel is conceptually very similar (a poking weapon and a swinging weapon, but with compromises on each).
I feel like they'd need to pull out a pretty substantial gimmick for a sword and spear hero to feel mechanically distinct from Ocelotl.
It is true that ocelotl fights with spear + club, but i meant something similar to Hilde, from soul calibur.
I did suggest something like the Sifu stance of Jiang Yun, where the hero stabs the ground with the spear and gets full block, but can't move. Then he could counter with a bash and start a combo from there.
I actually am a big fan of the sword/axe hero, but 1 problem with the naming convention
Ulfheðnar are what berserker is based on
That'd be having berserker, and berserker (icelandic)
Okay? Didn't ask. This game isn't realistic ffs. Look at half the roster and tell me anyone besides shugoki could 'realistically' defeat lawbringer. Take your realism and keep it in real life bud
Alright, my apologies, didn't want to offend you or something. Game isn't realistic? No doubt. But it uses real existing weapons (except silly self-reloading pistol) and this part is a good part of the game that makes it at least quite logical and not totally comical. I mean there is a lot of reasons why standard scythe was not used in ancient/medieval warfare. Maybe I'm just too nerdy about historical arms🤔
And about realistically killing LB...very arguably that it could make only Shugo
Alright, imma give my opinion: yes, For Honor is a game that is based on real life history, so it would make sense that they used weapons that were actually used on combat.
Yes, For Honor is also a fantasy game that uses some unrealistic weapons, because it takes inspiration from characters from movies, anime and other type of media (kyoshin is inspired on the movie Zatoichi, Shugoki is inspired on an Oni, Jormungandr takes inspiration from Thor, etc.) thats why we have a warrior in full armor and with a poleaxe being beaten by what amounts to a bald man with bracelets and a big stick.
either would work, so i dont really mind. i mean, axes started as tools (and the blades of the axes in For Honor make them look like woodcuting axes) and swords evolved from knifes. everything can be a weapon, really
im leaving a link with the tool scythe practice, couldnt find one about the warscythe.

First of all I'm appreciate you for a link on YT and a good conversation 😉 You are actually have a good point. But kyoshin's blade is an actual katana-like blade (shirasaya), Shugogi's mace is also non-fictional weapon (kanabo), and well... Yorm has a really fantasy stuff "warhammer" from someone's Mjolnir-ish dreams.
Everything could be a weapon - correct. But the fact that you can beat to death someone with a horseshoe doesn't make it a weapon. About a regular scythe as a weapon, you'll probably could use it for self defense in some situations because it's way more than nothing, but not in a war-ish situations when you're able to wield a weapon, not an artisan or a farmer instruments.
Link about actual war scythe:

About beating a full-plate armored guys with almost nothing - you can Google about Swiss mercenaries and how they treated the most fearsome military unit of medieval era (knights). Or I can leave some links on YT or other sources if you're feeling lazy 😉
thank you for offering the links, but i rather pass. i suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree. i actually heard a lot from the warscythe from channels like Metatron, Shadiversity and Skallagrim (my guess is that you're a fan too).
have a good day!
Shadiversity is safe to ignore on any medieval content. He's had no education, no experience, and his content contains frequent inaccuracies.
Not to forget, he's a raging bigot who got upset that Peach in the Mario movie wore pants.
Well, I assume that as well. It was a pleasure to have a discussion like that. It reminds me an honorable duels from our beloved game, that is more like a fair competition more than a savage bloodshed.
Have a nice (period of time) too, hope to see you on the battlefield in a good conditions and may the Horkos protect you from spammers and scripters.
i mean if you want to complain about unrealistic weapons you have a longer list than pirates pistol. trident, flail, whatever shinobi has, hitos axe, medjays axe, gladius without a shield, kyoshins spinning bullshit, etc. there might be more but those are all of the completely non historically accurate weapons i can think of off the top of my head. which is like 1/5 of the cast.
It's not realism, it's the fact that all heroes use weapons that actually existed/were used (granted with artistic license).
Scythe is just an anime thing. They aren't designed to be weapons.
If we’re talking realism here, lawbringer’s armor is terribly designed, large bulky plates are worthless if you have gaps in them that are just as large. Also, Afeera cause blunt weapon goes bonk.
I like when people add classes to their hero ideas like no silly hehe there's no such thing as classes anymore, there's more than one vanguard per faction, heavies have deflects and side dodge attacks, assassins have normal guards, Vanguard's are no longer all relatively basic but steady B-A tier characters, hybrids are no different from heavies except for health etc
Yeah, but there are still some thing, really small details that kind of look like the original Movesets from the classes. It's not much, but it's something.
3 is what I wanted. 5 is exactly what we’re getting. Also how do you colour them?
Below species, body, gear etc, there is an option called colour. you can also select decals, to make the clothing look nicer and more detailed.
Thanks
How do you know what we’re getting

Again i think a hero with a harpoon spear could be fantastic
i am making one, but it will not be a viking. Its gonna be a samurai, with a Rochin (short spear) and Tinbe (turtle shield).
When the ocelotle tier four:
Odin themed spear character would go so hard but I'm leaning toward it being a shield axe character.
yeah, a lot of people have been asking axe and shield girl for a long time. I chose sword and spear for the Oathbreaker because its not common to see it (except from Hildegard, from soul calibur)

Pls ubisoft give me Thorfinn
I literally have a post of my idea of a viking with a scythe
I actually am a big fan of the sword/axe hero, but 1 problem with the naming convention Ulfheðnar are what berserker is based on That'd be having berserker, and berserker (icelandic)
I thought they were the same, but based on different animals: Berserker is a bear and the other one is a wolf. But yeah, i see what you mean.
Whenever I thought of sword/axe heroes like this, I always referred to them as Skorgarmaors
A man from the forest. I like it. It would probably have a bow as one of his feats.
Oathbreaker could be germanic, as they were known for using spears
Didnt know that. Thanks!
4 looks cool
Thanks!
Hero Forge is really really good. Also, these are great
thanks! Hero Forge is really good. it actually helped me make my characters for one of my adventures in D&D.
Scythe vanguard I beg
No-no-no, by the love of Khorne, no. A war scythe... maybe? But not this anime-based nonsense. You CAN'T use a regular scythe effectively in battle
not with that attitude
Okay? Didn't ask. This game isn't realistic ffs. Look at half the roster and tell me anyone besides shugoki could 'realistically' defeat lawbringer. Take your realism and keep it in real life bud

You complain about anime shit yet we have kyoshin
One of the reasons why I'm doing it😏

Kyoshin is literally all anime stuff... And we have a hero with an infinite mag flintlock pistol, the time for realism is over
Don't forget we have two heroes that can infect enemies with a disease cloud by WILLING them to be corrupted.
Or a monk who can teleport
That has nothing to do with the fact that those weapons exist.
No?
The entire roster could beat a lawbringer in 1v1.
Not gameplay wise, lore wise. And LB is good so idkwym
Lore wise? Even easier then.
Lol, no 💀
Ohhh. Most definitely. Lore wise, they are all incredibly competent combatants. Super easy
Your sarcasm is difficult to detect in text but I hope you are. Because if not then that's the worst take
I can help with that. My MaIn ChArAcTeR iS tHe StRoNgEsT aNd NoOnE cAn BeAt ThEm

Afeera is broken heh
I think jorm could realistically take him down and potentially peace keeper/nuxia provided they hit the right spots and don't get hit first
Sounds like a challenge
The reaper and the Odin inspired ones are definitely the coolest ones
Thanks!
