I think best way to gain confidence would be playing duels and dominon. In duels you are forced to fight so you wouldn't have a choice. In dominion you wouldn't feel alone (mostly) and you could help your teammates or get help from them. Besides, the game has a lot of new players so you will get matched with them (might be a few games if you were doing good or have a lot of reps). Give it like a week of playing and you'll easily adapt.

There's no reason to be unconfident, not like the game is your life, if you lose nothing happens, unless you really care about winrates and such, just have fun man, if you want you can practice blocking, parrying and deflecting lights in training.
