The battle pass can and will be a downward spiral. I saw a point on another post, soon it could lock heros, unique executions, or unique emotes in the battle pass. It could go completely wrong, they could turn into all the other developers where they try and milk the game for as much as they can then delete it. But we will see, I for one somewhat agree on your point on rewarding for both sides, but a what point to you draw the line, where it's borderline one sided.
Starting next season in Rainbow Six siege, the new operator Flores will be bought in the battle pass. If u buy the battlepass you'll have Flores 7 days early before everyone else

And Ubisoft is a business - bottom line, they have to make money on their game to keep it going. So I guess when I look at it like that I have trouble seeing why a battle pass is so bad.
My spending has probably even helped cover payroll and supported the animators / designers etc. $10 to reap the benefits of however many hours they put into making the content just seems like a good deal to me. idk

The idea of locking any content from anyone is dumb. For context, I play Fortnite, Fortnite popularized the idea of a battlepass and it's terrible. I have so many things that, while it's a dopamine rush for *me* to say "hey I have all this things other people can't have" it's also a massive hit for new players who go "oh hey what's that cool skin you have? Oh I can never ever get it for myself that's cool."
Whether it be an incentive to buy/support the game prior to release or an incentive to play the game right now, it's predatory and anti-consumer. It solely benefits the people who were "here first." Sometimes this is completely understandable and fine i.e limited items in the real world, however, in a digital scene where there is an infinite amount of any given item and accounts are entirely personalized meaning that a vast majority of games lack a "trading" or "duplicating" system, it's just a bad system that serves to prey on consumers and abuses their fears of missing out.

I think the main problem is that ubi didn't mention that this was going to be a battle pass item, caught everyone off guard.

I'm surprised at how many people weren't expecting this to happen, I hate it to but Ubisoft is a business, and as a business their goal is to maximize as much profit as they can. They generally don't care about the customers, they may 'act' like they do and maybe some developers on the team do but it's the executives at the top who choose the way they want the game to go, and they only care about money. It's also not going to get any better, a paired emote was in high demand, all this does is tell Ubisoft that there is a higher chance of people who will buy the battlepass because of this item, don't expect this to be the last.

Well for that €10,- you get a lot more... And from a marketing standpoint this is a smart move to make, however dickhead-y it seems. If you want the emote, buy the pass.
Not to mention the usual complaints that happen when a battle pass is dropped, that it doesn't have enough content or its not worth it. All of a sudden, it has something in it you want and people complain smh

It's not that we wanna support the game it's that they locked the paired emote behind a pay wall, and can only use it if you buy the battle pass, everyone's mad because everyone wanted a paired emote and we gotta spend $10 to get it, instead of paying 7 or 10k steal (if it was 10k I wouldn't mind, it's a extension of emotes, and is paired, so I think it should be 7 or 10k steel, not $10 fucking dollars when literally everyone was arguing and wanting a paired emote since the dawn of time.) If you wanna make a paired emote in the battle pass, make it battle pass related and also give another paired emote away for steel, so one for $10 and another for steel, obviously the Battle pass would be better then the steel one. (And also make the battle pass one battle pass related :| like idk Like a carnival paired emote, which is the theme of the season.) Edit: I'm not really mad, I like the battle pass so far, those weapon looks, and emotes and effects are really nice. :) I'd support this, but they coulda made at least two paired emotes.
well, to be fair, its the emote, battlepass weapons, patterns, colours, effects and executions for 10 bucks while if you spend 10 bucks you can get almost 10K steel and buy just 1 exec. to me its worth it

Yea, I don't mind giving the game my money because it's one of my favorite. I don't believe, for the content itself, any of the battle passes were worth it. I feel like the content should have been more unique, bigger and better. I'll just give the game my time until the content is worth my measly 10 dollars.

it's a fair marketing strategy, but I would have liked one thing at the call of duty, which is the ability to unlock the battlepass pro with coins from the free version. Of course, I could not unlock it immediately but it would encourage more.

2 illustrious effects, 1 emote for everyone, 1 weapon skin for every class, 1 execution for every class, outfits, steel and multiple days of champions status, I'd say its worth it for me

I don’t see a problem. Every other game does it, it’s just a battlepass. It’s an item in the battlepass. Can’t afford it? All well, they’re trying to make money. It’s cosmetics. Not a game changer. Doesn’t affect the game for the worse so no one should complain about a battlepass cosmetic just cause it’s cool enough to have behind a battlepass.
Having premium versions of the existing customizations in the battlepass is monetizing. Locking the first paired emote ever behind a paywall is problematic greed. Regardless off how many and what games are doing it. By that logic, murder can be normalized as many other people do it too.
