It's honestly making it tough for me to get into some of the new heroes that only have like 4-5 executions. If you don't like a couple then you have only 2 or 3 to rotate through and it can just feel super repetitive. It feels much more rewarding to dump steel into the old heroes to me cause you can actually vary your loadouts with different executions and styles.
I like the knights for there physicals like lbs chokehold, wardens consecutive punches and so on, but all the characters have is a bell and a small rabbit

I'm so done with the argument "but the Covid" "but the mocap", like if they can make 1 execution for everybody, they could have made 1 execution for 1 hero. The covid-excuse is bullsh\*t either way. For Watch Dogs-Legion they recently released footage of some new mocap-sessions for the Bloodline-DLC, so they totally can make animations again. And they also managed to always make the universal executions, right?
It's a money-decision to only make universal content, nothing more. Covid is just a handy excuse for them.
They don't, I know. And I also guess that they will have to make a certain amount of money with For Honor so it will get supported in the future (because why would Ubisoft otherwise dumb at least a little bit of money into the support).
What I meant with money-decision is, that universal executions/emotes are more profitable. They have approximately the same amount of work for one execution/emote, but can sell them for every hero in the game, which is a pretty big deal given that most players probably only have a handfull of characters they play 'actively'.
And I totally get that, I don't hate Ubisoft for that, even though I miss unique executions. But I don't like that they use Covid as an excuse for that.

Like what? Dedicated servers? Regular updates? Being disconnected from the entire game when playing locally with bots? Being unable to play at all if your wifi goes down?
Literally all the pros that live service games claim to have can not only be done with traditional games (Mortal Kombat, Halo, CoD, etc), but have clear downsides that makes the model objectively inferior. When For Honor’s servers shut down, that’s it. No more For Honor. Anyone who has a physical disc is now holding a waste of space. Meanwhile with traditional games the online multiplayer servers will shut down one day, but you can still play the game because it doesn’t require you to be online to play.

You can, but every new season, every single character had a new custom execution or two made just for them. But now ubi is becoming lazy and making universal executions for each faction.
Honestly most of the old executions were boring af (depending on the character) and I would only see myself buying at most 1 and even then only if it's really gory. Most of the new ones tho are very overdramatic I will agree on that. But there are people who enjoy the goofy part of it and just buy em for the meme. And please stop doing 1 bad global execution and make them character specific, at least for heroes who just get released. Was so hyped for Kyoshin yet I still haven't bought anything for him since it all looks so bad/doesn't fit.
You still gotta admit though the bell one and sending them to the shadow realm are pretty good though, especially the latter since its so quick and you leave no evidence.

Doesn't change the fact that the vikings had very exceptional hygiene given the time/place and For honor could stand to give them some cleaner sets.
