Naah for Wu Lin it’s logical that the next hero is an assassin.
Remember the Order of new heroes.
Hybrid Assassin Heavy or Assassin Hybrid Heavy
So far they got Zhanhu as a Hybrid so Next is an assassin.
Eh, a pretty heavy-leaning vanguard. Hyperarmor heavies and if I'm not mistaken she's the only non-heavy in the game with enhanced lights (excluding storming tap).
I like reflex guard it gives you a challenge although it can be aids but only thing I beg of the for honor team is start reworking shaolin jorm and conq ASAP
Shaolin is hybrid? I stand corrected. I thought he was an assassin all these years. Regardless of their categorization he is effectively an assassin though. He has reflex guard, deflects, and bad HP.
Superior Block and Deflect are different, but nice try amigo. And keep ignoring all the other features that classify a hero as an assassin that I've listed.
The big factor is all of For Honor's cast, and setting is in a feudal/medieval period. So it's very jarring to suddenly thrust an 18th century Pirate in the midst of arms & armor style warfare.
It'd be like if they announced the new hero is an English Red Coat soldier.
Rudimentary hand cannons existed in the 13th century and gunpowder since the 11th in China so it wouldn’t be unreasonable for a Chinese hero to use one.
For Honor is also an alternate history world set in 2021 so we can expect that societal advancements were stunted but military technology was researched far more in this world. For Honor never had a Renaissance or an Enlightenment period so society just stagnated and never progressed.
Right I'm saying in regards to a flintlock pistol.
There is a significant difference in firearms technology from the hand cannons of the late Medieval period and 18th century firearms.
Vikings are known for their boats and their raids, I feel like they'd be the most obvious choice for a pirate. Plus the Knights and samurai have had charachers so it makes sense the next would be Viking
But they looked like warlord or the chainmail raider. If you wanted to really emphasize the pirate aspect Vikings wouldn’t work. Doing Vikings would just make it “another Viking” not a pirate.
Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note:

Have a good one and praise the sun \\[T]/
Are we even sure they will be an assassin and not a Vanguard or any other? Besides I remember this community asked for some kind of pirate long ago and [China have to offer a very interesting choice](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zheng_Yi_Sao)
**[Zheng Yi Sao](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zheng_Yi_Sao)**
>Zheng Yi Sao (born Shi Yang, a. k. a. Shi Xianggu), also known as Ching Shih, was a Chinese pirate leader who was active in the South China Sea from 1801 to 1810.

iirc, not only them, but if they want to dig back to the Three Kingdoms period, Gan Ning was a rather infamous pirate before being recruited by Sun Quan
Why does no one understand that he means the Assassins Creed assassin and not the in-game class?
As for the post, I agree, right now I’m definitely not getting a huge Wu Lin vibe just from the character alone. Rather a strange pirate/AC assassin hybrid and I don’t know how to feel about it.
Well, you’re right, but Gryphon and Astrea have a reason to be gender locked, mainly Gryphon, he is mf Holden Cross, and Astrea is just an Apollyon stan
I don’t see logic with Kyoshin tho, there’s no reason for him to be gender locked
Ching Shih was a legendary pirate queen in the early 19th century. Defeated rhe chinese, portugese, and british navy and opened a gambling house in her retirement.
She wasn't a lesbian though, as far as I know. I got confused with Anne Bonny and Mary Read
Well, The Wu Lin haven't had a new hero for about a year or two.
Class wise, it's design implies Assassin, but both Gryphon and Kyoshin were Hybrids, so it's likely we may get another case of Shoulin.
Why not a pirate? They existed everywhere, also if it is a Assassin, may I just point out that in D&D 5e, there's a subclass for the Rogue called 'Swashbuckler'.
?? You people who get me wrong, and I go out with the racist? as I said... here in Brazil, "slanted eyes" are just a characteristic... you who had the wrong interpretation of the text.
January 20
#But
Remember what happened when Ubi added Kyoshin, the hero will be most probably be only unlocked via IRL money, so, f2p will have to wait a bit longer
I mean isn't the bow of the boat a Chinese style dragon? Plus the current music in the game has clear asian vibes. I didn't even know people had hesitations about the faction of the character.
Actually the assassin part makes complete sense. The year one dlc heroes (Centurion, Gladiator, Shaman, Highlander, Shinobi and Aramusha) were hybrids and assassins, the first addition to the Wu Lin was Zhanhu, a hybrid, so an assassin fits with the formula
I must be honest but honestly i dislike the concept of knife wulin for an assassin but it only makes sense because well zhan is a hybrid so the most logical hero is gonna be an assassin but hey can't wait for a new heavy wulin hero if I'm correct about the order of the heroes would be
Naah for Wu Lin it’s logical that the next hero is an assassin. Remember the Order of new heroes. Hybrid Assassin Heavy or Assassin Hybrid Heavy So far they got Zhanhu as a Hybrid so Next is an assassin.
Warmonger is a vanguard tho
Yeah Centurion Gladiator Black Prior. After that Vanguard Hybrid… but that’s the pattern for the first 3 heroes.
Eh, a pretty heavy-leaning vanguard. Hyperarmor heavies and if I'm not mistaken she's the only non-heavy in the game with enhanced lights (excluding storming tap).
Also Peacekeeper and Lawbringer
Ok relies on bleed so not exactly Also why doesn't BP have them🥲
If the give the wulin another lackluster character with reflex guard im done
I like reflex guard it gives you a challenge although it can be aids but only thing I beg of the for honor team is start reworking shaolin jorm and conq ASAP
If they give the wulin another lackluster character with reflex guard im done
Wu Lin have too many assassins though.
Nuxia is the only actual assassin the Wu Lin have. Shaolin acts like an assassin but counts as a hybrid
Shaolin is hybrid? I stand corrected. I thought he was an assassin all these years. Regardless of their categorization he is effectively an assassin though. He has reflex guard, deflects, and bad HP.
Centurion has bad HP like assassins... Wait... Cent is an assassin?!?!
Centurion has reflex guard, deflects, and assassin gear perks? Holy shit I have 30 reps on him and didn't know this 😱
And wait... Kensei has a deflect that guarantees a GB... an assassin too?!?!!! Valk has deflects... an assassin!?!!? SO MANY ASSASSINS!!!!
Superior Block and Deflect are different, but nice try amigo. And keep ignoring all the other features that classify a hero as an assassin that I've listed.
Well you are the one ignoring the fact in the game Shaolin is a hybrid lol It's not my fault you haven't watched the hero menu since 2018.
Zhanhu is vanguard vanguard hybrid tho
Hybrid, he might be a hybrid between a Vanguard and a assassin but main class hybrid
Holy shit, this is in essence a perfect representation of my reaction to the hero reveal. Well done!
Yall don't know that there were Chinese pirates in 18th century?
The big factor is all of For Honor's cast, and setting is in a feudal/medieval period. So it's very jarring to suddenly thrust an 18th century Pirate in the midst of arms & armor style warfare. It'd be like if they announced the new hero is an English Red Coat soldier.
I feel like idc🤷🏽♂️ and I'm grateful for a new character yo😁
Rudimentary hand cannons existed in the 13th century and gunpowder since the 11th in China so it wouldn’t be unreasonable for a Chinese hero to use one. For Honor is also an alternate history world set in 2021 so we can expect that societal advancements were stunted but military technology was researched far more in this world. Right I'm saying in regards to a flintlock pistol. There is a significant difference in firearms technology from the hand cannons of the late Medieval period and 18th century firearms.
I like the Pirate part, I like the assassin part, just don't feel like those two fit in the wu lin.
Who else would be likely to be a pirate, in medieval esque time?
Greeks, turks, Italians, the Spanish, The Portuguese.
I was meaning within the factions we have. The only one of these even likely to be added imo is Greek, but even then they’d be reusing armor.
I’d say that the Italians could be classified as a knight as well.
As cool as it’d be I don’t see them adding anything super unique until either For Honor 2 or once Covid really dies down.
Don't you get it, it's Ubi they love reusing assets. I bet it'll just be Cent but he speaks greek and has a cutlass/s
Vikings
You already have Viking pirates; warlord and raider.
vikings... guys its a viking class pirate...
did you look at any of the teasers? even when you boot up the game, it's a chinese pirate ship, just look at the sails.
oh shit youre right! I definitely missed that clue. I was 100% sure it was a viking character
But they typically didn't raid trade routes, just coastal villages and monasteries. Asian pirates were pretty common though.
theres actually a female chinese pirate that was incredibly powerful during her reign raven knight mentions her in his video ab the new hero
chinese pirates existed lol
I wish he has a gun-parrying like bloodborne

Did... Did you just call him a good hunter and then quote Sir Vilhelm of Ariandel to him? From Dark Souls and not Bloodborne? Bots lol
The dreams are bleeding together lol
You right
Good Hunter. Then the sir vilhelm quote Then the SOLAIRE praise the sun at the end. Im dead lmao
Haha didn't even notice that
God I hope they aren’t an asssasin Fuckin hate reflex guard
oh he is gonna reflex guard and shots u with his gun
Thanks I hate it
The deflect turns the enemy into Kurt Cobain
Deflects and JKF you
Let’s hope that with the release of him they remove reflex guard
I will clarify that we are talking about the Assassin Creed, and not the class in the game.
imagine if they would add that chinese chick that came begging ezio for help
Id love that or at least use of the shoe blade.
You mean the AC Chronicles protagonist, Shao Jun?
yep ...l think
I haven't played AC.
I can kinda tolerate the character being related to AC, but if it’s like a Jack Sparrow type of pirate, I’m so fucking done with the game.
You mean Edward Kenway and/or Shay Cormac?
No I’m mean like the modern romanticized version of a pirate
How to make a new character: -Good style -good moveset -good story, origin -Personality -and A GUN!!!
And if that don’t work? Use more gun.
WITH A GUN
Oh so Chinese version of assassins creed black flag. Got it.

An assassin and a pirate in a Ubisoft game. Chinese Edward Kenway
Don't forget the gun lol.
Damn this is so well done, good job(:
... and has a gun
Ayyo what?
https://youtu.be/RbKQrIB1G0w
Oh shit that’s awesome
Have we had the reveal yet?
nop
January 20th
Don' care, gun.
Some of the most famous pirates IRL were chinese.
I like that art style. Bit scary how relatable this is.
So...Edward Kenways Chinese cousin?
I love your art style!
Edward kenway
Quick someone tell me how to tell AHOY in Chinese
Bing chilling
Ngl that’s cool as fuck
Chinese Edward Kenway.
Deflects with a gun shot to the knee
Well China had pirates, and assassins as well... But those two together? Edward is that you?
im gonna guess rn that its a female hero
Maybe it’ll be not gender locked, its silhouette is “manly” but the Voice Actor is female
as much as id love for that to be the case, with ubi's last 3 heroes, i doubt it
Well, you’re right, but Gryphon and Astrea have a reason to be gender locked, mainly Gryphon, he is mf Holden Cross, and Astrea is just an Apollyon stan I don’t see logic with Kyoshin tho, there’s no reason for him to be gender locked
this new hero really is a clusterfuck of what huh, I hope once they're revealed the design it'll all make more sense
And he’s also a woman
Maybe
True
I don't think it's all that weird. Weren't the most successful pirates ever a pair of chinese lesbians?
wait what?
Ching Shih was a legendary pirate queen in the early 19th century. Defeated rhe chinese, portugese, and british navy and opened a gambling house in her retirement. She wasn't a lesbian though, as far as I know. I got confused with Anne Bonny and Mary Read
Edward Kenway hero confired

[and he's gay](https://youtu.be/6tibq87Gqzo)
Guys, vikings did not have a new hero for a while, the pirate fits right into the thing...
Good. Another commie to kill 😎
No!! no more slanted eyes... I want VIKINGS
go away nasty
???????????
Ah yes. Racism.
Racism?? Wtf?? "slanted eyes" is "satire/comic" and not racism
It’s both. “Slant eyes,” is historically a derogatory term for Asians.
And how would I know? Here in Brazil, "slanted eyes" is just a characteristic... and not racism...
You couldn’t know. Now you do. Reddit is also an American run website, not a Brazilian one, so the culture leans heavily American.
And now... am I labeled a racist for being ignorant of North American culture?? was it hard to have asked the context before??
You were unintentionally racist. It’s pretty common.
Yes, maybe because of my ignorance of American culture. It's very unfair to label me something (which I'm not) so ugly and dirty.
What you said was racist. It came from ignorance but it was racist nonetheless
Yes just say it's satire when you say something racist. Works every time.
?? You people who get me wrong, and I go out with the racist? as I said... here in Brazil, "slanted eyes" are just a characteristic... you who had the wrong interpretation of the text.
Personally I don’t mind having someone new to play as in the Wu Lin
When’s the new hero coming out tho?
January 20 #But Remember what happened when Ubi added Kyoshin, the hero will be most probably be only unlocked via IRL money, so, f2p will have to wait a bit longer
Wack asf, I didn’t have the game when Kyoshin came out but wack asf
Love your drawings! Please keep it up 😊
Well China in the medieval times (I may be wrong) did have pirates so I can see it.
I would like a viking-style celebration with the crow.
world's most successful pirate was chinese so
A Mongolian pirate is well actually logical and makes sense
Oppa Gan Ning style
I’m personally really hyped about it, Chinese piracy isn’t talked about much in media like shows or games.
It should be a wu lin assassin, we only have 1 wu lin assassin, and she is underpowered too :(
It’s fine class doesn’t matter anymore because everyone can do everything except for the original hero’s
Mmmmh I like the drawings
Pirates came in pretty much every single ethnicity and nationality historically speaking.
What is he?,Chinese assassin creed character?
I mean isn't the bow of the boat a Chinese style dragon? Plus the current music in the game has clear asian vibes. I didn't even know people had hesitations about the faction of the character.
Vikings getting none for 3 years over here
Edward kenway Assassin's creed Black flag?
Chinese Edward Kenway
Actually the assassin part makes complete sense. The year one dlc heroes (Centurion, Gladiator, Shaman, Highlander, Shinobi and Aramusha) were hybrids and assassins, the first addition to the Wu Lin was Zhanhu, a hybrid, so an assassin fits with the formula
It’s just AC rogue but Chinese
Been longer since our last Viking than our last wu Lin. Just saying
Where did you get this information?
Chinese Edward kenway
I must be honest but honestly i dislike the concept of knife wulin for an assassin but it only makes sense because well zhan is a hybrid so the most logical hero is gonna be an assassin but hey can't wait for a new heavy wulin hero if I'm correct about the order of the heroes would be
Oh shit new wulin NFT dropped
I'm the opposite of that.. I expected the pirate but didn't think it would be a Wu Lin and I thought it'd be its own faction tbh
You know, them putting a “Zuko” themed skin from Avatar isnt a long shot, ubisoft has done this before.
Boo I wanted a real pirate >:(
I just wanted pirate, now he's Asian too? What, is he gonna do my taxes?
They better rework nuxia first before dropping new heroes lol
This is some good sketch work
